Emmeline failed to read the listing, failed to follow directions and failed to follow the house rules, otherwise, she would have realised
1.The apartment is shared with myself and other guests, I am not sure why in her private comment she requests photos of the other room, as they are not accessible to her.
2.That the room is on the side of a main road so there is traffic noise, this is clearly mentioned in the listing, with ‘asterisks’ around it.
3.The apartment is 4-5 minutes (400mm) walk to the train station, I make this walk everyday
4.She left the room dirty when she left, with rubbish and unwashed dishes in her room and what appears to be a vomit stain on the sheets.
5.Footscray is a gentrifying neighbourhood, but like all hip neighbourhoods in Melbourne (St Kilda, Fitzroy, Collingwood, Brunswick it has a working class roots and it is grungy and rough around the edges. I would suggest doing some research before booking to make sure you are happy to stay here).
The reason why I emailed her was I decided to leave for the weekend last minute and so I emailed after I had already left the apartment, I didn’t want her to feel like I wasn’t saying goodbye, but also didn’t want to disturb her as I had just knocked on her door about an hour ago. I sent her a reminder of the things to do for check out as most people appreciate the reminder so they do not have to read through the whole house manual or often ask me about check out procedures anyway, so I thought I’d make it easier for her.
I wouldn’t’ recommend Emmeline, she is one of those guests that all good Airbnb hosts dread, where you try to provide as much information as possible, in great details, she fails to read it and then blames the host. She wasn’t suitable for this listing.
