Had a relaxing retreat with a beautiful view at Dianne's place! Perfect weekend getaway.
There is no hostess more gracious and accomodating than Dianne. Her home is lovely and well-appointed and comfy. The front and side decks have the most magnificent views of Richardson Bay and the surrounding hills. The trail behind the house into the redwoods is a lovely respite that comes with your nightly stay. I was in this lovely home for 8 nights, and slept like a baby every night. And the giant shower is to die. After the first day, I felt like Dianne could be a friend, and consequently - though we first met as strangers - I feel I have made a great friend (who happens to have a marvelous house!)
Any negative comments are doubtless from people who are expecting absolute perfection from top to bottom, and this is a very historic home with private rooms and a large shared bath. It is not the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay, and thank heavens for that.
Dianne has a very intuitive nature regarding understanding one's privacy and engaging in conversation. It's a gift. I can not speak more highly of the accomodations and the hostess, and I highly recommend Dianne's home for your stay in Sausalito. You will not be disappointed.
We had a fun stay one night stay with Diane. Her house is quintessential casual Marin county (in my experience) and the location is terrific. She is a lively and interesting woman who loves sailing and captivated us with astonishing stories from this year's America's Cup which was going on while we were there. Next year we plan to have her give us a sailing lesson during our stay! And the nearby restaurant Trident was wonderful - great view of the bay and the city and the bridge - just lovely. The food was very good too. It was a short but sweet stay. Thank you, Diane!
Dianne is a great host and a lovely person ! Her house is so charming with the perfect location if you want to enjoy Sausalito.
Although we only stayed over nite, Dianne was a wonderful host and a great steward for the region. She had interesting stories and great insight that really helped to make our trip. thx Dianne !
Diane is a warm and gracious host. The view was beautiful, and it was an easy walk into town. Ask which guest room you will sleep in. The downstairs room is cluttered, musty, and has a blow up air mattress on a bed frame. I was surprised and would not have selected this location if I had known.
Our short stay with Dianne in the 'Swiss Chalet' was just lovely. A soft bed, great shower, perfect breakfast with home-grown fruit and cosy fireplace was exactly what we were looking for. The location in Sausolito is a nice break from hectic San Francisco, which is still very close by. We definitely recommend it! :)
I had a wonderful time at your place this weekend. Jennifer and I really liked all the decorations and the awesome shower. The view in the morning was one I could get used to.
Really appreciate the promptness with all the replies and cool stories you shared. Sausalito was a great escape from the hustle of the city. And now it's back to work all refreshed!
What you see on the pictures is true: gorgeous view, very nice installations. I stayed at Dianne's for 21 straight days and it was a fabulous experience. Dianne herself is a wonderful person to spend time with. She knows everything about Sausalito, Marine County and will keep you busy and entertained throughout your stay.
I can't say enough good things about Dianne and her home. The location of the house is perfect and has a beautiful view of the bay from the deck where Dianne was kind enough to prepare breakfast for us. The home itself has so much charm and personality -- just like its owner!
Dianne was a wonderful host from beginning until well after we left. We had an issue with space in our rental car and Dianne without hesitation offered to let us keep some of our luggage at her home for the week that we were travelling in California. She's an amazing captain and instructor -- going sailing with her was one of the highlights of an amazing trip!
This is absolutely where you want to stay while visiting San Francisco (which is only about 10 minutes away) or Sausalito.
