Private room ideal for 1-2 travelers in beautiful designer loft in Greenpoint. The room is very spacious, clean and private with a window to the street and air conditioning provided. There is also a ladder to a lofted area, but the bed is on the floor level. No climbing required ;)
Great Greenpoint neighborhood! Safe, calm, friendly, great restaurants and boutiques and views of Manhattan.
Loft has lots of luxurious amenities--modern kitchen, full bath with clawfoot tub, washer dryer, wireless, huge common area, huge dining table.
Bed is a comfortable bed for 1 or 2 people.
I have a toy poodle living here now and also a Mexican Black King Snake--a very harmless, non venomous pet snake who stays in his tank. Hopefully you will like to meet them!
If you inquire, please write and tell us a little bit about yourself and what your plans are while you are in New York.
If you do not see your exact dates available, please inquire! I have several very similar rooms and might be able to help you find a great place.
Also, please note check in and check out times. I prefer to keep all check ins between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. If you plan to arrive before or after this time, be sure to discuss this with me before making the reservation. Check out must be by noon of the day of departure, though usually it is no problem to arrange to store bags outside the room for a few hours.
Since I have been asked before: I am most definitely LGBTQ friendly!

We had a great time staying at Aryn's place. We love the amazing loft. It is very spacious and impressive. Aryn was very helpful with everything we wanted to know about the loft and the neighborhood. Greenpoint (and Williamsburg) are definitely our favorite part of NYC/Brooklyn. Franklin Street (where the apartment is located) is a very nice street with lots of bars, shops and places to eat.
The place was not clean when we got there and never cleaned at all. We were sharing the bathroom with other 5 people at a moment and the tub was disgusting. It was a very bad experience as for the higiene. I think that if you´re renting a place at that price, it has to be clean, this is a must. The next time I travel on air bnb I will make sure to talk to the host about the cleaning before I pay.
I have many positive reviews in terms of the cleanliness and I would consider anyone reading this to read the many positive reviews I've received as I am an unusually clean person as both a host and guest. Yes, the bathroom can get dirty with multiple users so maybe this guest experienced something that I was not aware of because they didn't mention anything to me while they were here. In any case, as I've said elsewhere, if you experience something during your stay that you don't like, it is worth it to just send a text or email to let me know, and I can guarantee that I will try to resolve it immediately if it is reasonable. I recommend any guest on airbnb to let their hosts know at least once if there's something not working out. As a host, I do my best to make sure everything is a great experience, but it's impossible to know and anticipate everything! Communication is important for the guests as well as the hosts!
Really enjoyed my 2 nights staying at Aryn's place. The apartment is just as cool in real life as it is in the pictures and was kept in a very good, cleancondition, which must be a challenge for these sorts of conversion style places!
My room was a good size and the bed was incredibly comfortable which was a nice surprise! The weather outside was pretty cold but Aryn had kindly put a small heater in the room which kept it nice and warm.
Aryn has a toy poodle called Lloyd but he was kept in her room and was so quiet at night and in the mornings you would never know he was there.
The Greenpoint area is quite chilled by NYC standards and has a few nice little bars and restaurants all pretty much on the doorstep of the apartment. The subway station is in easy walking distance and a cab into central Manhattan only cost me about $20 if I was feeling lazy.
If, like me, you are looking for a bit of an alternative New York experience away from the usual tourist spots then I'd recommend staying in Brooklyn and I'd definitely suggest booking into Aryn's place.
First time to try aribnb. had a fantastic Christmas break at Aryn's place. Aryn is a wonderful host and we became friends during my stay. She has put lots of efforts in designing the loft and keeping it really organized and clean. It is by all means the loveliest and coolest apartment I've ever seen. highly recommended! would choose Aryn's loft again next time!
Our stay was very disappointing. Aryn was never there, and when she was, she was impolite and unfriendly. The apartment has a negative atmosphere and is definitely not an open and friendly environment, where one would relax in the midst of the city. The other guests were very nice, though.
It was very hard to communicate with Aryn. This eventually led to us leaving the apartment two weeks before what we originally had planned. We felt much better, happier and lighter after we left and we strongly advise against staying at Aryns place.
We didn't get all of our money back from Aryn, but fortunately Airbnb send us two gift certificates to make up for our bad experience. Thank you, Airbnb!
This was a case of guests who were using airbnb for the first time and did not read the house rules or airbnb guidelines carefully. In my opinion I was not unfriendly, I simply had to deal with a situation when guests were breaking house rules and responded very negatively when I tried to point this out to them. Also, regarding the money--I did approve an alteration to the reservation that they requested so they did get a refund for the days they didn't stay--so some of the above review is not true. I aspire to be a great host (and guest!), as my many years of positive reviews should show. I have had nothing but good reviews before and since this one. But, I do take the few house rules I list seriously, so I do encourage all guests to read those prior to arrival, and if you are new to airbnb, be sure to take the time to get to know how it works, especially if you are sharing an apartment with your host.
Siemplemente excelente.
My partner and I had a great stay in Aryn's loft! Everything was perfect: unconventional flat, industrial design, awesome neighborhood, lovely pets and super-friendly other guests, and above all, a very exceptional host. It was an honor to meet such an interesting and nice person, especially for our very first stay in NY. As expected, we fell in love with that city and more particularly with Williamsburg and Greenpoint Areas. There’s so much to do right there, and the atmosphere is really different from Manhattan. We loved greenmarkets, restaurants and stores and of course, the breathtaking views. That being said, Manhattan was really nice too but I meant, make sure Brooklyn is part of your trip. You definitely cannot miss it.
Aryn was a fantastic host, I felt immediately at home and like I was staying with a good friend. We felt we had complete privacy, but also enjoyed talking to Aryn about her work and the city.
The room itself was very comfortable, plenty of space to hang clothes, shelving for other items, fresh towels, A/C, etc.
We also loved the neighborhood, great transit options (bus, ferry, train) and lots of coffee shops/cafes to grab a bite and coffee on your way out to explore. We highly recommend this option, especially if you plan to spend a good amount of time in Brooklyn.
I had the pleasure to stay at Miss Aryn's loft. It pretty much has all the necessary amenities one can have but better than staying at a hotel, IMHO. First off, she is such a conversationalist and helped me get used to the New York State of mind quickly. She even walked me to the metro subway and taught me how to use the underground system. The neighborhood is amazingly safe. I walked around the area and saw my first ever Manhattan skyline. There is also a public ferry nearby that one can take and reach you to Wall Street near ground zero area or catching the ferry to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. The room AC is always at the full blast as I just love it being cool and breezy. The shower and the soaker tub is amazing. One highlight is the water pressure is so strong that soothes my aching muscles. I use the wifi provided and uploaded smoothly all the videos I took visiting the Big Apple. Overall, I would highly recommend anyone to stay at Miss Aryn's loft. Though you might be sharing space with other two rooms but most folks/traveller do not bother you at all. Lastly, Miss Aryn prides herself and keep the place so immaculately clean and spacious. She believes in minimalism and the place have a zen like feeling for me. Okay I wrote too much. My first NYC stay is amazing and I credit using AirBnB and helping me find Miss Aryn's loft.
