Should you feel like having your morning coffee amidst the chirp of birds, simply step out of your sliding door and have a seat on one of the many lounging areas in the garden. Take a stroll through the grape vines and the vegetable patch. Pick tomatoes, herbs, squash for your cooking needs. You are free to help yourself to the garden bounty.

Take your yoga mat with you and come deepen your practice under the trees, amidst the songbirds, and the smell of oranges.

  • This place was perfect! Very clean with lots of extras to make the stay very comfortable. The back patio area was really nice to sit in.

We were very surprised to see the complement of food items, treats and other things waiting for us. After riding the MCs all day, it was nice to come back to such a comfortable place.

    Thanks for all the attention!

  • This is an airbnb gem! This quaint little studio is perfect for anyone traveling solo or as a couple. This location is conveniently located near many of San Diego's attractions, however, far away enough that you can escape the city. A parking spot was provided in the driveway and I was pleasantly surprised by the wine, cheese, and other hor d'oeuvres waiting for me. Lynda, Ben, and Anna also provide guest with essential we might forget (like shampoo). Overall this was a wonderful place to stay and I will keep in mind for future San Diego trips.

  • Lynda's cozy get-away was relaxing and charming! Every little need was considered and taken care of as well as relaxing amenities to set the mood! We arrived late but were greeted with a smiling face, helpful information about the area, and a beautiful platter with chilled wine, various cheeses, and chocolate. We were expecting a functional room with just the basics, but were pleasantly surprised with a resort-like feel that still remained completely independent and relaxed. Lynda is truly a kind, genuine, and lovely host! We hope to visit again very soon!

  • Pied-a-Terre is a very private suite, tastefully decorated and very clean with everything we needed and more. The bed is comfortable making for a restful nights sleep, plus a backyard and patio make it a wonderful place to relax and listen to the beautiful songbirds. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. Always prompt to our any need or question, Lynda was the perfect hostess (she had some tasty treats waiting for us upon our arrival)

The San Diego Trolley Station is within a few minutes drive and freeway access is close and convenient. We did lots of fun exploring on the trolley... just so many places to see and experience. We stayed almost two months (snow birds), and highly recommend this little piece of paradise.

  • I was looking for a place to stay for about a month, as a solo artistic retreat, and I couldn't have imagined a more peaceful place to think and work! The place itself is much larger than it seems from the photographs and is aesthetically very stylish. Lynda is an incredibly gracious host, and provided everything one could possibly need, down to Kleenex being in the exact spot on the side table where you would want them to be in the middle of the night. The place has a regular sized fridge, so you can stock up on food to save money on meals, along with coffee/coffeemaker, hot plate, cutlery, pots/pans, cooking utensils, microwave, cups/plates - the works! She has a spacious, beautiful backyard in which you can have coffee and breakfast with birdsong, or a late night drink underneath twinkling lights. Lynda also makes herself easily accessible, in case you have questions or particular needs. I would recommend this rental for a) anyone looking for a long-term getaway to work on creative endeavours/artist retreat or b) anyone who's visiting the San Diego area, as you would not be able to get this type of comfort in a hotel at the same price. The town itself is very small, but there is a nearby town (Santee) where there are plenty of restaurants, and most areas of San Diego are about a 20 minute drive away. For those who are interested in hiking/nature activities, Lakeside has lovely trails, and it's also only about 45 mins away from Julian (an old mining town with the best apple pie I've ever had!) and Laka Cuyamaca, where you can easily spend a glorious afternoon. Highly, highly recommended, I would definitely return. And Lynda's sweet tea is the best - I hoarded it for days!

  • Beyond Perfect. I want to go back. Pied-a-Terre is exactly as pictured, though we found it bigger then we expected. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom more spacious then anticipated, it isn't a stall showerl, as I was expecting. Lynda is a wonderful host, her tea is perfect. The patio is the most peaceful place I have been in a long time. I loved sitting reading with a drink listening to birds. There are even twinkle lights set up. We enjoyed breakfast on the patio, that was a treat.

San Diego was amazing. So much more to see. The location worked well for us. though most attractions are 30 minutes or more away, we enjoyed the drives. I highly recommend staying here.

  • The Pied-a-Terre is the epitome of what an airbnb experience should be! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and provided with every comfort we needed after a long journey. Ben’s mother Lynda was an amazing host, she was very friendly and was extremely thoughtful. In regards to the place it was a lovely clean place with all the comforts of home. The highlight was being able to eat our breakfast in the back patio amongst the hummingbirds and flowers. The place is a bit outside of San Diego but if you plan on renting a car it’s a very quick it only 15min away from the city center and well worth it. We would highly recommend the Pied-a-Terre.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Pied-a-Terre for a week this August. We had an exceptional time! The place was very stylish and charming. It had everything we needed, including a lovely kitchenette and all possible cookware. I loved the outdoor patio where you can relax and watch hummingbirds while having breakfast in the shade of a tangerine tree. Linda was the best host, very nice to us and helpful. We highly recommend this place.
