Tucked in a verdant corner on the grounds of an artisanal residence, BlueGreenPaprika sets the scene for a serene oasis in the bustling city of Accra.

The space
BlueGreenPaprika

Tucked on lush expansive grounds is a villa in paprika tinged with blue accents, against a residence in white cast with black highlights.
BlueGreenPaprika is a love letter to tropical design, lifestyle, and culture; with open and shaded terraces creating cozy nooks encircled by verdant species, swaying and wafting breezes, scintillating ripples over a cool pool – to dip into and emerge refreshed oblivious to the brilliant sun.

The residence was revamped out of a decrepit property once fresh under the practice of Architect Cleland Tevie.
Blue Green Paprika is the scene of a serene oasis in the bustling city of Accra with an artful and eccentric palette that plays on hues and textures – soft and bold, bright and mellow – warmth and cool.

The villa is entranced by wide open air terraces which break the transition from outside to inside, with doors that open into a corridor, facing onto a kitchenette; the ends of the corridor open out to the respective rooms, looping to the opposite corridor that proposes the bathroom on the interior, or outdoor shower the exterior; at the end of the terrace shrouded by paradise birds and broody willows.

The other path from the villa’s porch rises to the pool and thatched pavilion tucked in the corner of the property, enclaved by colourful blooms and sculptural canopies; a cool spot to lounge, dine, or nap in, scoped by a refreshing scene that unfolds with a gaze.
The trees in the gardens are home to many avians. Above, skies speckled with soaring wings and those that stoop, then perch to narrate the antics of a birds’s life in endless chatter; and swaying canopies swooning to scat of the whistling wind.
The residence has 4 dogs – two patriarchs in their 13th year, and two pups retracing the exploits of their elders with all the exuberance and angst of boyish youth.

The villa presents a functional showcase of design by Cult Meraki; objects, products and sets for experience through stays and events, towards exhibition, order and sale.
The gardens are divided into the 2 zones; The front garden, and the rear Garden. When events coincide with stays they are limited to the front garden with the the rear garden is reserved solely for the host, and guests of the villa.

The venue is grounded in a central part of Accra, a quick pace to many of the cities burgeoning hot spots that fuel the creative, cultural and entrepreneurial spirit of bustling Accra.

My work: Designer
Speaks English
I'm a multi-disciplinary designer at Cult Meraki – an art, architecture and design studio– currently working around graphic design, photography and product design. BlueGreenPaprika is run not just by me, but the team at Cult Meraki made up of vibrant creatives. We're looking to create alternative and refreshing narratives around our work, inspiration, environment and culture. I love to explore and observe places and cultures. This is how I find inspiration towards my life and work.
