About this listing
Our calm and relaxing guest bedroom offers the perfect serenity for a relaxing stay. The desk and wireless internet offers a great workspace for the traveling student or business person. The bedroom door locks for added peace of mind. Forested view.
No Cleaning Fee!
This is a comfortable and affordable room for travelers, students, business professionals, or for someone who just wants to get out of their house to stay somewhere new for a change!
Our home is located on Madison's West side, just a short drive from Middleton, Verona, downtown Madison, and many excellent restaurants! West Towne Mall is about 20 minutes walking distance, and the massive Elver Park is located right out the back door.
Your room has it's own lock and you are free to help yourself to the Kuerig coffee maker in your room for a great start to the day (coffee and wide variety of tea available)! There's a computer desk to use as a workstation (with shredder), a medium firmness bed, a dresser for your convenience, along with a lamp and an alarm clock.
We love to meet new people, and we also understand a need for solitude, so we welcome you to share the living room, dining room, and common areas if you feel like getting out of the room. There's also a beautiful balcony view of the woods out back, along with chairs and a little table to enjoy the scenery. We've got a TV set up with Netflix and an Apple TV if you've in the mood for movies, and there's even a Wii and some games for your entertainment.
The building has an ideal location, with Woodman's food market within walking distance, 12/18 beltline Hwy right down the road, West Town mall a couple miles away (with stores such as JC Penny's, Boston Store, Sears, Dick's Sporting Goods and many more)! Elver park offers an expansive Frisbee golf course and relaxing nature paths for the summer, and ski trails and a skating rink with skate rentals available in the winter!
The bedroom window view is beautiful all year round.
One of the key aspects that make this room the place to book is the easy access to the "Beltline(12/18)", that wraps around Madison and offers several exits to get to where you need to go! The expansive Epic Headquarters in Verona is also only about 20-30 minutes away and easy to get to off the beltline.
Included with your booking:
-Medium-Firm Queen-sized mattress use
-Plenty of closet space
-Phone charger (upon request)
-Pull up bar
-Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and Nintendo Wii gaming systems with Super Mario 3 and Duck Hunt (obviously the best part) and more!
-Shower and towels
-Kitchen with convenient Washer and dryer
-Nearby bus stop and transfer point
-20 minutes from downtown Madison, Epic, Middleton, etc
Aaand third floor, no elevator. We know, we hate it too.
My guests are welcome to make themselves at home! We've got wireless internet, old school video games, and an apple TV with Netflix. The bathroom and shower is a given, and I'll have clean towels available as well.
We've also got an in-unit top and bottom front-loading washing machine for use during your stay.
The kitchen is fair game and I've got quite a collection of spices to choose from. We usually have breakfast foods in the fridge that you are welcome to as well.
Interaction with Guests
Our family (Sarah, Jesse, Maximus, and Alexandria), really enjoys meeting new people and making new friends! That said, between work and school, we don't always have the chance.
Ideally, one of us will be around to greet you and assist you with your belongings (and hand off your key). If planning ahead and we know we can't connect, alternative arrangements can be made to ensure you aren't locked out. You're welcome to text either of us during your stay if you have any questions.
The Elver Park neighborhood is located pretty conveniently a couple of miles from the main highway, and easy walking distance to Elver Park. In the winter, the park has ski trails, an ice rink, and a huge sledding hill. In the summer, it has great wooded paths to wander, a playground, a shelter, and a disc golf course.
The neighborhood is very diverse, and there are many friendly neighborhood kids ranging 5-15 years old playing around the private playground on the complex at times.
West Town Mall and the surrounding area has several restaurants nearby. See the guidebook for a few suggestions, or ask when you arrive for some great suggestions.

Jesse and his fiancee Serah are both very nice people. The room is exactly as described. The bed is quite large for one person. The sheets are overall clean despite a few pet hairs. He also provides several towels. He's very generous about sharing food and stuff and works most of the time during the week. It's pretty easy to communicate with them. I locked myself out twice during and Jesse had to unlock it with his tools. I felt so sorry about that and sincerely appreciates his helpfulness.
We were looking for an affordable place between the gap of apartment leases, but had a pleasant stay at Jesse's place. Jesse allowed us to check in earlier and helped us carry the luggage. The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe. There is around 15 min walk to some fast food restaurants. We felt comfortable like at home during our short stay. And we really enjoyed the company of the dog and cats!
We really enjoyed staying at Jesse place. It was so relaxing hangout with the fish after a long day of business. His hospitaly was awesome. We able to meet this gentleman (Jesse) and his friend over dinner. He was very understanding and accommodating to our travel itinerary. Great communication and instructions with details about the area, his place and restaurants. Thanks again Jesse.
Jesse is a wonderful host with fantastic communication before and after arrival - He was accommodating & flexible on a weekend that included flight delays & being on other people's schedules. It was easy to pick up my keys and the apartment was warm & welcoming. I felt at home, that I could come & go as I pleased. Jesse also provided extra details about the area including public transport. THANKS JESSE!!
Jesse was so very helpful, he left us his keys in an easy to find place, which was helpful as we got in late after a show. The apartment was very clean. He left us beer/breakfast supplies in his kitchen as well as blankets/towels/soap. He also had amazing aquariums! We felt safe and well cared for. Id recommend staying here!
I stayed 3 nights with Jesse in late February 2014. I have stayed in many places through Airbnb and other similar websites and Jesse’s apartment has been my favourite so far. Jesse is incredibly accomodating and went out of his way to make my trip go smoothly. Thanks Jesse!

About the Host, Jesse
I'm engaged to an amazing woman (Sarah), and have part time care over a couple of great kids, and we are all excited to offer our spare bedroom to people in need of a place to stay. Sarah and I both work in healthcare (humans and animals), and both enjoy getting outside to enjoy the weather, or staying in to watch our favorite shows. The kids alternate between shy and curious, but are currently enamoured with metal detecting and RC toys (and reading of course).
Our animals are a big part of the family as well, and they (presumably) also really love meeting new people!
Hosting on airbnb has been a real blast, and we've got to meet a lot of great people with amazing goals and dreams. Most people stay about a week or two, and that's worked out really well in the past. We are all really easy going, respectful, and just want to offer up good Madisonian hospitality during your stay!
