Great location
95% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
A well-designed, comfortable, first floor space with modern amenities in a block of only two apartments. Great location in an area inhabited mostly by Valletta locals, managed by a couple who love the City.

The space
This bright, first floor studio shares its main door to the street with only one other apartment. It is accessed by a short, straight flight of stairs. The property is well spaced out and very comfortable for one or two persons. The balcony has side sea views and street views.

Its biggest asset is its central location. Just a few steps from the lower end of the city's main road, Republic Street, means that it is only a few minutes away from all the Valletta attractions you will want to visit. Just a 3 minute walk to the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Fort St Elmo or Casa Rocca Piccola, for example. There is a small grocer with all your basic needs located just beneath the apartment.

The apartment is equipped with a new and modern kitchen including an induction hob and oven, coffee machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. You will also have your own washing machine, steam iron, ironing board and hairdryer.

The bed is a queen (200 x 160 cm). In the bedroom is a large flat screen TV complete with cable. There is wifi access throughout the apartment.

The bathroom is spacious, fitted with toilet, large shower and his and hers (or his and his, or hers and hers) sinks. It has a large window that overlooks a small yard.

Street parking is available and being close to the city's ring road, parking tends to be less problematic than in other parts of the city, though not always guaranteed.

We are excited to share our beautiful capital city with our guests. There is something to suit everyone in Valletta- culture, architecture, food, wine bars, the Manoel theatre, the Royal Theatre Square (Pjazza Teatru Rjal), St James Centre for Creativity, numerous cafes and the Mediterranean sea.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF OUR OTHER STUDIO APARTMENT LOCATED BENEATH THIS ONE! If you are looking to travel with friends but wish to have your own apartment located next to theirs, this set up is ideal.

Guest access
The entire studio apartment is yours to enjoy.

Other things to note
There is always something going on in Valletta, especially in the Summer months, but I suggest you look into the following events as they are all rather fun:

1. Traditional Village Feasts in Valletta:

- Shipreck of St Paul (February)

- St Augustine (May)

- St Rita (May)

- Our Lady of Mount Carmel (July)

- St Dominic (August) - this one is our local feast, takes place right outside the apartment and is truly spectacular

- Our Lady of Consolation (September)

2. Carnival (Weekend preceding Ash Wednesday. This is taken very seriously in Malta and the costumes, floats and parades are not to be missed!)

3. The Malta Jazz Fest (usually in July)

4. The Isle of MTV (usually end June/beginning July and always free)

5. Notte Bianca (usually September)

6. New Year's Eve Celebrations in St George's Square, a 5 min walk from the apartment

Location

Valletta, Malta

The property is located in the heart of one of the residential areas of the city. Here you will be surrounded mostly by locals, many of whom have lived here their whole lives. You will experience the true Valletta, watching neighbours lower their shopping baskets on ropes from their balconies to purchase bread and milk from their local grocer (named Charlie, located 20 paces away from your front door), and conducting their morning chats from one window to another. You will see them sitting on chairs on their doorsteps on cool summer evenings while the older women watch the world go by from the comfort of their 'gallarija' (the traditional Maltese wooden balcony).

It's not the quietest part of the city, due to the hot Mediterranean blood of its inhabitants rather than the traffic, but it is one of the most authentic.

I worked as a dyslexia specialist for ten years before I started working with my husband Dean. After living in and studying in the US for some time, I resided in the capital with Dean until we moved to a slightly bigger home outside of Valletta to make space for our first child. In the summer of 2019 we finally moved back to Valletta, into a tiny apartment, and in early 2020 we are hoping to move into our long-term home there. We have two young daughters who keep us very busy.

During your stay
The apartment was recently fitted with a key code system. Kindly send me a message the day before your arrival and I will send you the key codes so that you can let yourselves in. We are easy to reach should you need us. We leave a list of recommendations on the table inside the apartment but would be more than happy to give you sightseeing tips, restaurant recommendations, beach preferences and general advice before your arrival, should you need it. Should you need me to organize a taxi to/from the airport, I would be happy to do it (the fare is 20 euro). You will find a set of keys on the table in the apartment. Please keep them on you at all times and just leave them on the table when checking out.

IMPORTANT: We will only accept guests whose incoming flights land after 9pm if they agree to let us organize a taxi for them. The fare for this is 20 euro and must be paid to the taxi driver in cash.
