About this listing
Our private ground floor suite of rooms is wonderfully located for visiting the northern national parks and cities as well as being a great stopover for travelling north or south. For a long stay or short stay a friendly welcome is assured.
The suite, which can accommodate up to four adults, is located on the ground floor of our house and consists of a bedroom with two single beds, a toilet with bath/shower, a lounge with a comfy double sofa bed and a small room with a sink and a wardrobe. It has its own door and is completely separate from our upstairs accommodation.
As an option for parties of up to six people including two children we can also provide two small single sofa beds.
Our house is located in the centre of Morecambe with short walks to all all the amenities. Just around the corner is the seafront promenade and beach with the spectacular views across Morecambe Bay to the mountains of The Lake District.
The town motto of Morecambe is "Beauty surrounds; health abounds" and within close range in all directions the surroundings have masses to offer.
Easy access to the beautiful Lake District by car (also possible by train and bus).
There are lots of cycle/walking paths which start right by our house. The paths will take you into Lancaster, along canal tow paths, around the Bay and as far as the Crook O'Lune and Glasson Dock Marina.
Also close by is the RSPB bird reserve Leighton Moss.
We are very happy to give advice or accompany our guests to provide guide services throughout the North West of England. Why not have a look at the map for typical examples of the many places to visit in the region :-)
Using our local knowledge ensures your maximum enjoyment.
We are two minutes from Morecambe train station which is two stops from the West Coast main line station of Lancaster which connects to London, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh. It is possible to visit the Lake District with a mixture of train and bus.
We are located very close to an extensive cycle network and the start of the Way of the Roses long distance cycle route. We have space to safely store several bikes in the basement.
There is no kitchen but there are supermarkets and restaurants very near by.
There is a single 24 hour free parking parking space otherwise free parking in front of the house is limited to 6pm to 10am. Otherwise there is plenty of paid car parking all around the house.
The suite is accessed from a shared front door and hallway but has it's own ground floor access from the hallway making it completely private and for sole use by the guests.
Interaction with Guests

We have nearby access to view the Lakeland Fells across the uniquely beautiful Morecambe Bay with its vast expanse of exposed sands at low tide and its sunsets that are second to none. With the nearby ancient churches at Heysham and the restored Art Deco Midland Hotel on our doorstep there is plenty to explore locally as well as all the beauty that surrounds us.
The train station is just minutes away which simply links Morecambe to Lancaster and the main West Coast line. By this means the cities and airports of London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester are all simple to reach by train; as is The Lake District.
We are also located minutes away from the ferry port of Heysham for trips to the Isle of Man and Ireland.
We are a totally NON-SMOKING house otherwise we have few rules except that we would like our guests to remove their outdoor shoes inside the front door.

If there is anything you want or need please ask before you come or early on in your stay.
Looking forward to meeting you.
Marianne kept in touch on our journey and gave us a warm welcome aand helpful tour of the property. Very comfortable in evry way. Helpful tip about train link to Lancaster. Very good indeed. nice bright, artistic ambience. Thankyou.
I was doing a film shoot in the Lake District and so called on Marianne very last minute to put us up for the evening. Marianne was very quick to respond to my questions and incredibly helpful and accommodating.
We arrived very late that evening, Marianne was very warm and welcoming after a long drive. And it was so great to arrive at such a comfortable and lovely apartment. The apartment had a lounge area complete with a good selection of books and television and a separate well equipped kitchen. It's warm and cosy.
Marianne had left out a selection of tea and some lovely biscuits as well as a full pint of milk in the fridge. So we were made to feel at home straight away.
The apartment is really bright with lots of nice colourful artwork is hung up all over and it's immaculately clean.
It's centrally located and just around the corner from the sea. Unfortunately we had to leave very early....so didn't get a chance to explore Morcambe properly. However, I will book in for a longer period next time! It was a great stop over on the gateway to The Lakes from London. And a very short journey away from Kendal. It would be a fabulous base if you wanted to explore The Lakes but keep things more affordable. The apartment is incredibly good value for money!
Thank you Marianne and Graeme for a wonderful stay! xx
I booked this holiday at the lastmoment and was really happy that I made a good choice. Marianne responded very positively and when we reached from Wales, it was 9PM! She was very helpful and the apartment was exactly as described. our family with 2 small children fitted well in it. we really felt at home and Marianne looked after us like her own kids and she even left us a card on our anniversary.
The Lake was very beautiful and Morecombe was good. Though weather was typical of Winter, we overenjoyed this break...
Thank you maarianne
Marianne and Graeme made us feel so welcomed just by the communications we received before, during, and after, our stay. They were very friendly and accessible for anything or any questions we had regarding the area. It felt like we were staying with family. The flat was very nice, warm and welcoming. It had plenty of space for our family and had everything we needed for our stay. The neighborhood was centrally located to the promenade, shops, nightlife and tourist sites. The perfect location for visiting Morecambe Bay and the surrounding areas. If we find ourselves back in Morecambe we would most definitely stay with Graeme and Marianne in their lovely home.
Marianne welcomed us at the agreed time, showing us our accomodation which was exactly as out lined. It was warm and comfortable.
great hosts. Graeme was so lovely and we felt like we had met Marianne even though she wasn't there. Great cosy flat, clean and comfy with everything you would need.
About the Host, Graeme & Marianne
Graeme is an English pharmacist married to Marianne who is Danish. Actually we got married in Las Vegas which was good fun.
We are both big time into skiing and also love scrambling in the beautiful English Lake District which is right on our doorstep.
We love travelling and meeting new people. We spent seven winters working as chalet hosts and ski guides in the French Alps but now we are settled permanently in Morecambe.
