Bunty and Rory were great hosts. It was a last minute rsvp but they were extremely accommodating. We appreciated getting picked up at the ferry, and Rory even dropped off my girlfriend at her hotel. Bunty even baked us fresh bread a couple times! The grounds are exquisite! Large garden with beautiful plants, flowers, fruits and artwork. The cottage offers beautiful views of the mountains, is large, clean and comfortable. When we were a little lost, we called up our hosts, and they offered us assistance. We were specifically looking for a place to decompress, relax and enjoy each other's company, and we were able to do just that.
Our stay at Ajoupa Garden Cottage was fantastic. Bunty and Rory were great hosts; their cottage is gorgeous. It is the perfect base to explore the Island. We traveled as a family and we could not recommend this more! The kids had lots of fun.
We spent 3 days and 4 nights at the wonderful Ajoupa Garden Cottage. We were amazed about the beautiful view (at day AND nightime), the little wooden cottage and the smell of the flowers in their wonderful garden. And not to forget the good fresh bread she made for us with nice butter and jam.
Traveling with a 5 months old baby is not always simple but our son loved being there and after two a little stressful days in Port of Spain we all enjoyed the tranquility in the Ajoupa Land. Unfortunately Bunty and her husband left the next day when we arrived so we didn't had the chance to spend more time together but the little interaction we had were simple and most friendly. Bunty helped us out with a lot of information and even draw us a little map. After their departure we met Marva the housekeeper who was there when we needed anything.
Nearby you have a little supermarket and restaurants to provide you with food. We tried the indian vegetarian restaurant by the temple next door (very good) and the little Chinese Fast Food restaurant "Liams fresh cook" and we were happy with that. All in all it was a very refreshing experience. Luckily there were these nasty biting flies who made it easier for us to leave ;)
We feel so fortunate to have chosen Bunty and Rory's immaculate home. The couple immediately made us feel at home, meeting us with fresh-baked bread for breakfast. Their guest cottage was one of my favorite places I've ever stayed. The pictures don't even do it justice. The cottage has privacy, and yet Rory and Bunty are available for questions about the island. Rory showed us around the property and even put us in touch with some wonderful people to arrange hiking and tours. We can't wait to return to this lovely property and have deep gratitude for Rory and Bunty and their hospitality.
Bunty and rory were great hosts. From the pick up at the airport to the end of our stay everithig was so wonderfully smooth in trinidad thanks to them. We also loved the chats with them and the two lovely dogs(i know everybody says the dogs are cool in their reviews but they really are, so i had to mention it again) ajoupa gardens is definitely worth a visit and don't worry if you don't want to rent a car. Bunty knows a great driver that can drive you around for a reasonable price. We can definitely recommend their place to everybody!
Our hosts were great. The cottage is really nice and the view is fantastic. The neighborhood is very quit, all you hear is birds and crickets. The dogs are nice too!
Bunty's guest home is immaculate. It's beautifully designed and features some of her amazing art work. The property is expansive and full of wonderful fruit plants and flowers. The view is indescribable! And the puppies were a joy to play with.
