  • Although I did not personally meet Carla or her husband, my friends fully attest to her graciousness and congeniality as a host. She offered them a complimentary pick-up from the airport, and after we decided to rent a car, she was able to answer a few questions we had about rentals. If you plan to drive, make sure to read up on the driving rules regarding roundabouts, which will prove perplexing since Bahamians drive on the left side. Carla met up with my friends to introduce them to the house, and her husband TJ met with my friends for a departure check. The neighbors are friendly, though they do rise with the sun (as does their music and conversations, so be wary of that). The house has great A/C, and all the windows are covered with netting to prevent bugs from getting in. There is the occasional mosquito that finds its way in, and you definitely should keep food and water (don't drink the tap) in the fridge to prevent the Bahamian ants from getting in (because they will). The rooms and living space are spacious. The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking essentials and cooking-ware, though we did not utilize them. Carla provides a few bath/beach towels for your use, but it's still advised to bring your own. The king bed is very spacious, as is the queen bed. The larger bedroom has a landline for local phone calls and a dresser with a mirror (not very good lighting though). Carla also gives you a simple cell phone with limited minutes for emergencies. You can access a few channels on the TV, but it's more entertaining to go out and about the town. Make sure to read the guestbook--it has great suggestions, including ours ;)

All in all, an amazing experience in a great community. Definitely a different view of Nassau than that of the hotel experience. Thank you Carla!

  • The house is wonderful, all the amenities you will need. It is definitely not downtown or centrally located, however the bus is $1.25 and will take you where you need to go, or a cab is 20 dollars to most hotels, downtown or paradise island. The neighbors are rather noisy, probably the only downside to this location. The value is definitely here! Nowhere else are you paying less than a couple hundred for your accommodations on the island! Thank You Carla

  • Carka was the perfect hostess. She picked us up fromthe airport and even gave us a cell to use which cam ein handy because we knew people on the island and needed a way to get in touch with them. The house was very clean and cozy and I loved the fact that it was in the heart of the city and not out in the tourist driven areas. The price was great. It was definately worth every dime. I would recomment this place to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay in the Nassau Bahamas. Thanks Carla for making us feel at home.

  • Carla's place was great for us, because it was so affordable, and clean and comfortable. It's in a quiet, safe residential area. Carla is a caring, helpful host, and we consider ourselves lucky to have found her!

  • Carla was the perfect host and provided me with a heartfelt welcome experience on the Bahamas. Her apartment is really spacious and easily fits 5 people. It is located in a nice local area and really lets you experience the local Bahamian lifestyle which I love to do when I am travelling.
Even though there is a jitney bus stop right in front of Carlas apartment I recommend to rent a car to be more flexible in the evenings as jitneys only run until 6:30pm
Special thanks again to Carla and her outstanding hospitality by giving me a ride from the airport and back and by preparing even a map with driving directions and important phone numbers.
Will definitely come back to The Bahamas!!!! ;-)

  • Spent 4 days and had a great time. The apartment has lots of room and was quiet. Carla was a great host and picked us up and returned us to the airport on time. We caught the local bus for $1.25 each and found the local people were helpful and friendly. We were standing at the bus stop on the corner and 2 ladies asked us if we'd like a ride to a better bus stop. They recommended the Fish Fry. The Fish Fry had about 10 restaurants. I had Grouper fish that was so delicious and by husband had the snapper that wasn't as good - too many bones. Conch chowder was delcious too. When you wanted to get off the bus you just yelled "Bus Stop". There were no official bus stops they would just let you off at a corner. It took 20 minutes to downtown where there were lots of shopping and restaurnants. We took a taxi to Paradise Island with the taxi recommended by Carla at a cost of $21 each way. We were glad we didn't rent a car because the driving is "crazy".....! It was a great place to stay.

  • Beverley and I had a good time in the Bahamas. The apartment was spacious and clean upon arrival. Carla provided transportation to and from the airport and was kind enough to take us to the grocery store to pick up items for the week. She also provided us with a cellphone to use and followed up with us mid week to see if everything was okay. It was a delight to meet Carla and the Bahamian people!

  • Our journey in Nassau was very pleasant; the properties, TJ and Carla, were very kind.
They took us at the airport and bring to home, gave us a mobile to contact them, and a navigator to drive alone in the island and towards the beaches. We phoned them more than once, and they were always kind.
The home's position is good, more or less in the middle between the airport and Bay Street/Bridge to Paradise Island.

  • The apartment is located in a quiet residential area with friendly, open and very helpful Bahamians : )

The accommodation is immaculately clean, spacious and functional.

Carla offers a GREAT service with airport pick up and one or two other very thoughtful surprises such as some local beer. She also drove us to do groceries once we arrived in Nassau.

You probably rely on some sort of transport because the buses don't run until late.

If you want to experience the local Bahamas a little bit off the beaten track this is where to stay!!!
