Rick was very hospitable and accommodating. We had a busy weekend; so, we were not at the house much, but when we did see him there, he was friendly and helpful, answering any questions we had. Rick is also quiet as a mouse!
The room is comfortable and inviting. The bed was a bit smaller than we expected, but it and the pillows were comfortable. The portable a/c he has is fabulous. Being from a bit further North, we aren't quite used to the Savannah humidity. We only wished we had thought to ask sooner!
This is a great location. It is close to a grocery and the beautiful Forsyth park. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to "downtown" and River Street areas, and a very quick (and cheap) cab ride away. Savannah is a lively little city, and has a lot to fun to offer. If you'd like to stay somewhere close to everything, but not in the center of the party, this is a wonderfully situated home.
A bonus, free street parking! This isn't the case in many of the neighborhoods near downtown. Be aware, you may have to move your car for street cleaning (We didn't have to, actually).
Rick was wonderful! The house is charming and in a great part of town. It's only a few blocks from Forsyth Park, and almost everything we wanted to be at was a 15 minute walk or less away.
Rick was incredibly helpful and friendly. He always had good tips and places to stop by we hadn't even considered. Some of which ended up being trip highlights! I would definitely recommend staying with him if you're in town.
Rick was a great host! He was there to answer questions but gave us our privacy! He provided us with different brochures and maps. The room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The house was in a perfect location. Super close to the park squares (closest being Forsyth) and also just a twenty minute walk to the town/river street. This was our first time in Savannah and I can honestly say I fell in love with the city. So much to do and absolutely beautiful! It was St. Patrick's day weekend so there were a lot of people downtown and it was a little crazy but still so much fun. Lots of live music and the weather was perfect. Thanks again to Rick!!! Hope to be back again soon!
Rick's home in Savannah worked out perfectly for our trip, nice room, affordable and a pleasant walk to many of the city's attractions. Rick himself was a very nice host and did a great job making us feel comfortable!
We had a great time in Savannah at Rick's place. He was very nice and gave us all the information we needed for our three days in the city. He was really helpful and even was so kind as to solve a problem we had at 6 am with a taxi cab! The room was just what we needed in Savannah. Comfortable and really close to the city centre, to the free bus stop and to the beautiful Forsyth Park. We could cook in the kitchen and Rick even left coffee for us every morning. I would really recommend his house to whoever wants to visit this amazing town.
We stayed 3 days at Rick's house in Savannah. It was easy to communicate with Rick via e mail and txt messages. His house was easy to find .He was there to welcome us when we arrived. His house is very neat and clean. The room was well decorated and very quiet. The house is perfectly situated in Savannah to explore the city by foot. Thank you Rick for hosting us .
Everything was great. Perfect location- a good central point between downtown and midtown. We did not have a car while we were there, and didn't really miss it. Walked and took a bus once. Felt very comfortable inside the place. Thanks, Rick! Go Cavaliers!

My former life includes 20 years in NYC in a banking/finance career. Love the big city & all it offers, but also appreciate living on a smaller scale in a place like Savannah.
I try to get to Europe for a few weeks at least once a year & will gladly trade travel stories with other travel aficionados. After grad school, I bought a one way ticket & lived in Brasil for 2 years; working as an english teacher & living with brazilian students in a pension. Also traveled to Argentina, Paraguay, & Uruguay during that time...
