Rick was the consummate host -- gracious, helpful and an engaging conversationalist to boot! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at his cozy home, which is ideally located to explore Savannah. He was also quite helpful with tips on getting around the city and restaurant recommendations. And to top it off, he makes a damn good peach pie!
Rick is a wonderful host - gave us useful information and a map on our arrival. He also had chocolate candies for his guests :) The house is centrally located and within just about 5 minutes of all the main hustle and bustle. There is also Kroger and a cute coffee shop right next to his house...
We had a great time in Savannah and really enjoyed your recommendations and conversation.
Thank you so much for opening your home to us.
Cheers and thank you
Dayton and Christa
As soon as I arrived, Rick was there to welcome me to Savannah, show me around his home and tell me about all the interesting spots in the neighborhood. Such a great guy, always has time for a chat and a joke, and his home is phenomenal.
I can honestly say, as beautiful as Savannah was, I wouldn't have enjoyed it half as much if I hadn't been staying at Rick's place.
So glad we stayed here! The room was charming and clean and there was even a fireplace, though we didn't get to use it as the weather in Savannah was roughly 95 degrees. Instead, we were provided with a portable air conditioning unit, which kept our room nice and cool. The location of the house itself was perfect. We were about a block away from one of the Dot transportation stops, which you can use to get around the city for free. We mostly walked, though, as the riverfront is only about a mile away. Rick's a very relaxed guy and was super helpful during our stay. Definitely recommend!
Rick was very welcome and explained everything we needed to know directly after our arrival. The room was clean and the location was very close to the park and downtown. Nevertheless, parking in front of the house was free. The description of the room was acurate and our needs were met. Thank you!
Ricks house is a great place to stay if you want to see Savannah! Our room was very cosy and clean. Had a TV, AC and fan. Nice and quite at night time. The area is very safe and has a good feel to it. It is located conveniently close to everything. It is a 1 mile walk down to the river front, the market streets and the historic district. A five minute walk to Forsyth Park. A nice Italian restaurant (Leoci's) on street behind. On the opposite side of the road of the house, try Mate Factor for breakfast, it is a nice little homemade bakery with all sorts of pastries (they have free from products as well). Rick was very helpful and gave us recommendations for breakfast, dinner and transport around Savnnah. He is a cool friendly guy and very laid back. You will have a great stay with him.

About the Host, Rick
A regular guy. Easy going & laid back. Love to travel, read, & hike. A film buff for indies & foreign..Fluent in both Portuguese & Spanish. LGBT welcome.
My former life includes 20 years in NYC in a banking/finance career. Love the big city & all it offers, but also appreciate living on a smaller scale in a place like Savannah.
I try to get to Europe for a few weeks at least once a year & will gladly trade travel stories with other travel aficionados. After grad school, I bought a one way ticket & lived in Brasil for 2 years; working as an english teacher & living with brazilian students in a pension. Also traveled to Argentina, Paraguay, & Uruguay during that time...
