  • Gisella was very communicative and I had no problem getting to the apartment settling in. The room is how it looks in the photos and it conveniently located in Lapa. My only complaint is the noise at night on the weekends. Lapa is a very busy place at night and some of the local bars play music late into the night.

    Response from Gisella:

Lapa is known for its bohemian and live music concerts and bars and a lot of people who goes there, wants to stay late at night enjoying them. it is not the perfect place for those who are coming to Rio to work as Tanyu was... but for holidays! Although most of my clients are brazilians workers from downtown companies and they are aware about it. I had even families living there for a year long. We are used to late hours!

  • I had a wonderful experience at Gisella's home in Lapa! I traveled to Rio for Carnival 2013 with a friend. We did lots of research on the best neighborhoods to stay during our visit. Look no further if you want an authentic Rio experience. We were literally in the heart of Rio nightlife, culture and restaurants as well as no more than a $R 20-45 cab drive from Copacabana & Ipanema beaches, Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer statue, and the airport. You're also within a 15-20 minute walk to the Sombodromo as well. The crowds can be a little noisy at night if you are a light sleeper or retire early in the evening. Otherwise, I recommend it as a place to get a true Rio experience.

    Response from Gisella:

hi guys hope you got some rest before coming back to work! Lapa is definitely a moving place but is gets way more busy during carnival, i was there under the Archs for a concert of BLoco Sargento Pimenta ( Sgt Pepper) which plays just Beatles Music in samba rhythms! a shame you weren't there anymore so you could finally sing in English with anyone else!
