Interaction with Guests
We live in the same house upstairs, but this apartment is private with its own entrance, kitchen, bathroom. We generally leave our guests alone, but are always there if there is anything.
We live in a lovely landmark protected neighborhood. All the houses were built in the late 1800s and very well taken care of. It's a little like Sesame street, with stoops where people hang out and chat with one another.
a few blocks from the B and Q express trains. 2 stops to the Barclays Center, 4 stops to Chinatown, 5 to Union Square.
Other Things to Note
We are a photographer and painter, and may of our artwork pieces are on the walls in the apartment. We live upstairs with our 2 teenage kids and 2 labrador retrievers.
Sylvia was very helpful in sending me advance directions and instructions for the apartment. I loved this place!! Big bright kitchen with all the amenities and a big farm table. So nice to be able to cook and host my children for dinner! Also, close to the subway that takes you directly into downtown Manhattan, and a wonderful Wholesome grocery. I felt very safe and private in the apartment.I contacted Sylvia a couple of times during the stay, and she was very prompt in answering and meeting me needs. Would love to stay during warmer weather and enjoy the sweet outdoor space.I will definitely stay here again!-K

Nice appartement, Andre and Sylvia are nice hosts. The Description is exact but one thing could be highlighted :
if you are sensitive to noise, know that the airflow heating system in the small bedroom is very noisy.
André agreed to let us leave our luggages in the appartement after checkout (so clean up could be done) and pick them 2-3 hours later
before going to the airport.
A cool apartment, conveniently located near amenities and a 7 minute walk to the metro. Walls are a little thin but with 5 stops to Union Station, we started and ended our days with ease.
Sylvia and Andre are great and made us feel welcome and at home. Their place was very comfortable for four of us and we loved being surrounded by the works of these two talented artists. Cool neighborhood.
Sylvia was warm and welcoming to us when we arrived, although it was somewhat late. It was nice to have complimentary coffee and a bottle of nice wine. The apartment was well kept and very nicely decorated. The street is pretty and the apartment is close to stores that are open late and the subway station. The wireless internet worked very well. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and some cooking essentials. There were some books to browse and the host's artwork to look at. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I compliment the hosts on doing an excellent job!
Sylvia and Andre were wonderful hosts. They responded promptly, provided us with information about transportation, and shops in the area, and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The whole process was very easy and we had a lovely time.
