Homely flat ideally placed on a quiet, leafy residential road. Location and connectivity to the rugby or London are as good as you'll get around these parts!
This is my usual home but I will be re-trenching for the duration of the rugby world cup so you would be able to use the whole flat for that period. It's more practical than stylish, more homely than unique and I hope you'll find it a comfortable retreat from the craziness of the rugby when you need it!
First floor, 2 bed flat on a quiet, residential leafy street with a light and airy living/dining space, and off road parking.
The property consists of two good sized double bedrooms, with newly decorated bathroom, good sized lounge/dining room and kitchen, and for the purposes of the Rugby World Cup, it is available in its entirety for your use. As I usually live here, it will still house my things, but rest assured there will be ample living and storage space.
Ideally this would suit 4 or 5 people - one can quite easily sleep on the sofa.
Towels and bed linen will be provided.
This would be most comfortable for a family or group of friends who perhaps want to enjoy the rugby and use the flat as a base to explore the rest of London/the UK thereafter, having both off-road parking, and being well located for transport options (road, rail, Richmond tube, London overground and buses).
Kitchen, fridge, freezer, kitchen equipment including blender, coffee machine and the usual kitchen gadgets. Basics are also included (salt, pepper, oil, tea, coffee, milk and cereal) to get you started. Happy to provide bread and butter too - let me know when you book.
Space for one car available at the back of the property. If parking here, please leave a note on the dashboard stating which property you are staying in.
There is good WiFi (details to be provided on arrival)
Interaction with guests
I will normally be there to greet you when you arrive, but I do work normal office hours in central London. If you let me have your arrival details when you book, I can try to flex my diary to meet you.
When we meet, I'll give you a map of the local area and point out areas of interest and happily recommend you some eating/drinking options both around the area, and further into London. Happy to arrange a time to show you around the area too and will be just on the end of the phone if you need anything.
Other things to note
There are lots of local areas of interest outside the rugby. Within 15mins walk of the flat, you'll find:
Alexander Pope's old stomping ground of strawberry hill complete with gothic buildings
Marble Hill House (set in public grounds that are great for picnics, walks or runs)
Ham House - this involves taking the small Hammerton ferry over the river
Eel Pie Island - now home to artists and eccentrics, formerly a popular haunt of the Rolling Stones
Orleans Park House & Gardens
Flat available for a minimum of 3 days during the rugby world cup.
- no smoking inside the flat please, and no pets (allergies!)
- no cycles inside the actual flat, but you can chain them to the downstairs railing, or outside (please bring your own reliable lock though)
- there are 5 other flats in this block and it's generally pretty quiet, so please be considerate to my neighbours, particularly after 11pm.
- if you require a cleaner during your stay, let me know and I can arrange for you (£10 an hour, minimum 2 hours)
- you're welcome to use the kitchen but please clean/tidy after using
- when leaving the flat, please leave it tidy and as you found it
- the person booking under their name, must also be staying in the flat
