Spacious, quiet room with soaring ceilings, beautiful light, and hardwood floors in a friendly, easygoing household in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley. Perfectly situated for wine tasting, biking, hiking, and more.
Located in the heart of Sonoma County's Russian River Valley--with easy access to wineries--this spacious master bedroom has a separate entrance, soaring ceilings, an airy sense of space, hardwood floors, and a large private bath with shower and jetted tub. This bright and sunny room has a supremely comfortable king-size bed, plus a fold-up foam futon for extra guests. Enjoy a beautiful view of the valley and hills from tall, eastern-facing windows.
Feel free to wander around our two-and-a-half acre property, which boasts large organic gardens, more than a hundred rose burshes, and a 60-foot lap pool. We are five minutes from Sonoma County's main bike trail and within easy riding distance of some of the county's most beautiful bike rides.
Want privacy, it's yours. Want to hang out and chat--we like that too. We're happy to share kitchen and laundry facilities, and you should feel free to browse our extensive library. Don't think of this like a hotel or even a traditional B&B. It's more like staying a friend's house. It's that laid back.
We no longer serve breakfast in the morning, but you are welcome to use the kitchen anytime you like.
Straight and gay-friendly. Children, babies, and hypo-allergenic dogs welcome.
Aperitif tasting and champagne cocktails at our winery in North Petaluma
Interaction with Guests
Depends on how much interaction the guest is interested in--we've had guests we rarely see, as well as guests we've literally spent hours with, chatting, cooking, or going out to dinner. All depends on our time schedule and the guests.
Other Things to Note
If you're driving up from the Bay Area, feel free to stop in at our winery, Sonoma Aperitif, in north Petaluma for a free aperitif/champagne cocktail tasting.
No smoking, please.
We generally have a two-night minimum on weekends, but feel free to contact us as the weekend draws near. If we're not booked by Friday, we'll do a one-day overnight.
Big room, conveniently located in the heart of Russian River Valley. Laura and Chris were very accommodating and took good care of our needs. They also had good recommendations for local spots.
Laura is the consummate hostess! From her famed aperitifs to her cooking, you couldn't ask for a better airbnb experience. I was looking for somewhere to run and Laura recommended the most beautiful running trail. Unfortunately, I had a bad oyster and spent most of Saturday confined to the bathroom and bed. Forestville is a great jumping off point for both Point Reyes and Healdsburg. We enjoyed a splendid dinner at Underwood in Graton just a short drive away.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Laura & Chris were wonderful hosts. Simply wonderful. Upon our arrival, Laura offered great restaurant suggestions, vineyards to visit, & lots of places to go locally. Additionally, in the mornings, she always had homemade granola, yogurt, & coffee. She even offered to give us tastings of her home spirits. We didn't get a chance to do that, but next time....FOR SURE ! Privacy was perfect, shower and jet tub (bath) were amazing & we will DEFINITELY stay there again next time we are out in Sonoma County. We couldn't more highly recommend this place.
Laura and Chris were very friendly, genuine and accommodating hosts. We got their late and were caught alittle off guard with the ad saying private entrance, when we actually entered thru the front door of their house. Felt awkward, but worked out just fine. Very nice room, with large bath and comfortable bed. Location was great for the different wineries all around. Laura was quick to respond to requests for directions, restaurants suggestions etc. We would stay again if our travels take us back.

Our weekend stay at Laura and Chris's home was exactly what we needed to unwind. They were very welcoming and friendly, we enjoyed getting to know them. Their home is lovely and the room was spacious and bright, exactly as pictured. They offered us a light breakfast with delicious homemade jam and gave great recommendations to their favorite wineries and restaurants. Thank you again for your hospitality!
Host family was very friendly. The house was in a very nice neighborhood and exactly as it was shown in the listing. The bedroom was very comfortable and bright. We really enjoyed the host family and would choose to return if we are in the area again.
