About This Listing
Spacious, quiet room with soaring ceilings, beautiful light, and hardwood floors in a friendly, easygoing household in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley. Perfectly situated for wine tasting, biking, hiking, and more.
Located in the heart of Sonoma County's Russian River Valley--with easy access to wineries--this spacious master bedroom has a separate entrance, soaring ceilings, an airy sense of space, hardwood floors, and a large private bath with shower and jetted tub. This bright and sunny room has a supremely comfortable king-size bed, plus a fold-up foam futon for extra guests. Enjoy a beautiful view of the valley and hills from tall, eastern-facing windows.
Feel free to wander around our two-and-a-half acre property, which boasts large organic gardens, more than a hundred rose burshes, and a 60-foot lap pool. We are five minutes from Sonoma County's main bike trail and within easy riding distance of some of the county's most beautiful bike rides.
Want privacy, it's yours. Want to hang out and chat--we like that too. We're happy to share kitchen and laundry facilities, and you should feel free to browse our extensive library. Don't think of this like a hotel or even a traditional B&B. It's more like staying a friend's house. It's that laid back.
We no longer serve breakfast in the morning, but you are welcome to use the kitchen anytime you like.
Straight and gay-friendly. Children, babies, and hypo-allergenic dogs welcome.
Aperitif tasting and champagne cocktails at our winery in North Petaluma
Interaction with Guests
Depends on how much interaction the guest is interested in--we've had guests we rarely see, as well as guests we've literally spent hours with, chatting, cooking, or going out to dinner. All depends on our time schedule and the guests.
Other Things to Note
If you're driving up from the Bay Area, feel free to stop in at our winery, Sonoma Aperitif, in north Petaluma for a free aperitif/champagne cocktail tasting.
No smoking, please.
We generally have a two-night minimum on weekends, but feel free to contact us as the weekend draws near. If we're not booked by Friday, we'll do a one-day overnight.
We had a great time staying with Laura and her family over Memorial Day weekend. Their house is beautiful and is centrally located relative to a wide range of Russian River and Sonoma Valley activities. The guest room and bathroom were immaculate. Laura (who is wonderful!) made us breakfast on our final day and we had a delightful conversation with the family that morning. We also went apertif tasting at her winery afterwards on our way home, which was quite fun and tasty. All in all, a stellar Airbnb experience. Would certainly stay with them again if revisiting the area.
Laura and her husband are very friendly. They made me feel welcome. The room and bathroom are spacious and clean and there is a great view. It is quiet and relaxed and I enjoyed beeing there.
We had a really pleasant stay in Laura's home. She put us at ease right away with her natural manner and it was easy to have good conversations .
We got great tips for restaurants and special happenings (apple blossom festival).
In addition Laura has the most beautiful garden and the property lies in a very peaceful area.
The room was spacious and bright (as it says) and you had a beautiful view in the garden. We were traveling with two small kids and there was enough space for all of us.
This was our first experience with AirBNB and we will always remember it.
Laura was very friendly and welcoming. The space is lovely, very large, open and airy and clean, and there is a beautiful view of the backyard. I love all the books!! They have a very diverse library, and I enjoyed having lots of books to read and relax with. They were great about understanding my wifi sensitivity and open to switching off the router at night, which helped me sleep. I really appreciated that. It's a lovely, quiet rural-ish area, with a gorgeous view of the night sky. Not far from Sebastopol or the coast and local redwood groves, so a good location- and the stars are stunning.
Laura & Chris have a beautiful home. The photos, as you can imagine, don't do it justice. The room is HUGE and the book collection alone was enough for me to sit and get lost in forever! The neighborhood is very quiet and super close to local markets, restaurants and cute places to grab breakfast. My girlfriend and I had a great time relaxing in the jet tub after a long day hiking among the redwoods and sunbathing at Johnson's Beach. Laura was very personable and even offered us a glass of wine while sharing her story of the new winery business she has opened. We would have taken her up on her offer to visit the tasting room if we didn't have to leave so soon. Perhaps next time!! =)
We always have a lovely time at Laura and Chris's AirBNB. Comfortable bed, spacious room and bath and totally quiet.
Thanks again for a great stay! Chris and Brian
Big room, conveniently located in the heart of Russian River Valley. Laura and Chris were very accommodating and took good care of our needs. They also had good recommendations for local spots.
