* Situation *
The small apartment (36 sqm + 24 sqm terrace) is located on 6th floor in the middle of Prenzlauer Berg, one of the most exciting and most fascinating corners of Berlin. From here you can go on foot to shopping trip, to sit for hours at brunch or sink into one of the many bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants and then walk home. From our door the tram M2 is a 24-hour line, which puts you in just 3 minutes to Alexanderplatz, TV Tower, and lying close to the Museum Island or Hackescher Markt. Goes even better?
* Sleeping *
The apartment has two single beds and a sofa bed, which is suitable for 2 people.
Fresh bed linen and towels (1x large, 1x small) are included once and reduces the weight of your luggage.
* Kitchen *
The kitchen has everything you need for a short stay in Berlin. Crockery, cutlery, pots, 2 hotplates, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster.
Food you can buy at the supermarket on the corner or in one of the many health food stores in close.
* Bathroom *
The bathroom with bath has an adjoining small dressing room with a large wardrobe, washing machine. Of course, there are also small amenities such as a hairdryer, several umbrellas, iron and plenty of books on Berlin or just for reading.
* Terrace *
The huge terrace has 24 sqm. In the summer, we manufacture a table and chairs on the deck . Here grow fresh herbs and strawberries from snacking you shall gladly.
* Parking *
Parking your car does cost 1 Euro per hour from Mon-Sat 09:00-24:00. You can park your car for free 5 stops by streetcar or 20 min in walking distance from here. Or - if available - you can rent our underground parking for 8 € per night (max. hight 1.5 m, length 4.8 m).
Tip: To enter the city you need a sticker for the "low emission zone". Search for "Umweltplakette" to find out how to get a sticker for tourists.
** Internet **
We CAN NOT (!) offer classic WiFi for legal reasons in this apartment.
If you want to get into the internet for free you can do it via one of the many hotspots or cafés with free Wi-Fi available outside of the apartmebnt (we have a list for you).
There is an internet cafe opposite our house for only 1 €/h, if you dont bring your own computer.
On availability internet is also possible via one of our MiFi's (mobile WiFi, €2 per night including 100 MB, each additional 100 MB = €1, no flat rate). Please book the MiFi at least 24 hours before your arrival, because activation may take up to 24 hours. We rent them out on a first come first serve basis. As earlier you reserve it as better the chance to get one.
The MiFi is a perfect complement to your smartphone, iPod or tablet PC, because you can take it anywhere and have not only internet in the room, but also on your way though the city. You can connect up to 5 devices to the internet at the same time. But you should take controll about amount of the exchanged datas, otherwise it might get very expensive to you.
** Key **
Of course, there is ONE key, so that you get in an out when ever you want during your stay.
You can rent a bike from 7 € per 24hours near by. You can leave your bicyle in the enclosed courtyard and hook it up there.
There is a surcharge for late arrivals:
after 20:00 = 15 euros,
after 22:00 = 20 euros
after 23:00 = 25 euros
after 24:00 = 30 euros.
For wheelchair users, the apartment is suitable partly because there are no steps into the home.

You are a runner? Wy not running a lap together (from 20 mins-120 mins; speed 5,5-8 mins/km = pace)? I started in November 2013 with running, HM 2:06 on 31 Mar 2015 and now I'm training for the Berlin Marathon in September 2015.

Alles in Allem immer wieder gern!
Gritta is very nice and helpful and give us precius advices. The apartment is well located to visit Berlin and is very silent and quite.
The only "problem" is that there is only one key for the apartment. So, if someone forget it inside, before closing the door, can be a big problem.
Some advices: it would be a good idea to put a little wardrobe and a few shelves (even in the bathroom), because we didn't know where put our clothes.
There is a large wardrobe in the mini-dressing room for your clothes. One side with shelves and one side to hang your clothes. Oposite of it are some more simple shelves for your socks and other small things and to hang even more clothes. May you did not try to open the door to this tiny room? Its adjacent to the bathroom.
es war alles super vorbereitet, der empfang war sehr herzlich! das apartment ist gut gelegen, modern und zweckdienlich eingerichtet!
This was my second visit to Berlin and a return to Gritta's apartment as I was so happy there the first time, and the apartment still doesn't disappoint – it is bright and clean and well-equipped with all you need for a comfortable, home-from-home stay in Berlin.
As with my previous visit, I was given a really warm welcome from Gritta, this time with her husband, Stefan – it was just like catching up with old friends, they are really lovely people. Gritta, once again, came armed with maps, etc, plus her personal recommendations for places to eat and tips for things to do – all of which was in a handy type-written pamphlet she has gone to the trouble of putting together for guests.
My first trip was in the autumn/winter and I really wanted to see the city in the summer. The neighbourhood really transforms itself in summer, with leafy avenues of restaurants, bars and little shops – a very peaceful and laid-back area to stroll around despite only being a short walk from the buzz of the city centre. Many things are easily walkable from the apartment, but access to both the tram and U-Bahn are only minutes away from your door when you're feeling lazy or venturing further afield. And, when you return home with tired feet, the large terrace is perfect for relaxing in the full afternoon/evening sun.
So… to reaffirm my previous feedback: a great place to stay and a super host – all the reasons why Gritta was my first choice for a return and I never thought of staying anywhere else for my summer visit.
Big heartfelt thanks Gritta :-)
Absolutely great appartment in the very best location in Berlin. Easy to get to with public transport. Very very clean and everything worked. The terrace was wonderfull as well and very big. Gritta was very helpful and had provided a lot of very useful information about the area and Berlin.
We definitely hope that this appartment will be available next time we go back to Berlin.
If it was possible to give more than 5 stars we would :-).
Gritta welcomed us and gave a thorough briefing. The apartment was just what we expected – small but of a high standard. The area was great and is a real plus for this apartment.
It's a lovely place in a nice area, and Gritta is very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
