Interaction with Guests
We enjoy meeting our guests and have had great experiences chatting in the evenings. We've also had guests who prefer to stay in their room or hang out alone by the pool. We follow your lead.
La Quinta has a 'dark skies' ordinance which means we do not have street lighting -- makes it nice for star watching from the spa. We offer a flash light if you want to walk at night. There is a very nice walking/biking trail a block away. We are also close to great public tennis.
Our neighborhood can be very quiet especially late at night when you can enjoy the quiet of the desert. We are a five minute drive to the top of the cove for great hiking where you can really hear the silence. Our neighborhood can also be noisy at times. There are kids on the street and our neighbors sometimes have parties. But there is a 10:00 p.m. noise ordinance so things usually quiet down by midnight even on the noisy nights.
Walking distance to shops and restaurants and a nice walking/biking trail. Public tennis within biking distance. Public bus a block away.
Other Things to Note
Guests are responsible for any major damage (over $25) . Please let us know if something is broken before you leave!
If you have requirements other than those listed above, let's talk.
This is a non smoking property.
While we are pet friendly, we need to know that your dog has been house trained, is current on all vaccinations and knows how to get along with other animals. We do restrict the type of dog visitors we accept. We have a friendly dog and two cats.
No loud noise, please.
Discretion and consideration appreciated.
Bobbie and John were absolute wonderful hosts! My two girl friends and I came and stayed with them for three days during Stagecoach weekend, and were absolutely blown away by our experience. They (and their furry friends: Winston and the two kitties) not only opened up their home to us, but also their hospitable hearts. The home was very clean and provided us with more than enough that we needed. The room was very comfortable with two beds, and accommodated us just fine. It also had its own private bathroom, with a cool shower. Not only did they provide us with a great place to stay but Bobbie and John also set out breakfast items for us to cook every morning (eggs, bacon, croissants, etc;) and snacks at night when we returned from the concert. They also allowed us to use the pool in the backyard and to use the jacuzzi and were willing to heat it up for us before we got home from the concert. They really set the bar when it comes to booking with Air BnB again. And I am already looking forward to seeing them next year and the many years to come when attending the stagecoach music festival again. Another plus to consider is that they were so close to the venue used for both Coachella and Stagecoach. Seriously, if you are looking for an experience and a great place to stay during your time in indio (La Quinta), look no further! Thanks again Bobbie and John :)
John and Bobbie has been a great host during my 3 days stay for BNP Paribas Open.. Very accommodating..... I enjoyed playing with Winstons (dog) and Sonny (cat). For sure i will stay with them again if i want to watch my next BNP Paribas visit.. They are truly great couple. They should be the standard for any airbnb accommodation...
Bobbie and John are a delight to stay with. They are a rare type of host in that they really take the AirB&B experience to a whole other level! Bobbie and John went out of their way to make us feel at home, they cooked for us, they accommodated all of our needs and they were great fun to converse with! To be mentioned also that Bobbie is a great cook ! We would stay again in a heartbeat.
We had a good time staying with John and Bobbie over the weekend.
The room was clean and it had all we needed for the over night stay.
Bobbie and John made us feel at home and were very accommodating. They made sure that they were there if we need anything. Bobbie offered to make breakfast and we have a bag of fresh oregano when we went home.
The dogs were fun additions to the accommodation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bobbie and John's home. The room is more like a suite with plenty of space and privacy. They generously provided breakfast for us, taking care to respect our dietary needs, and generally made us feel quite comfortable. They offered suggestions for hikes and restaurants. We were welcome to put some food in their fridge.
The pets are around, as their AirBnB post states. While we don't have any pets ourselves, we loved theirs -- a kind and gentle Boxer named Winston, a frolicky kitten names Sunny, a beautiful large gray cat named Boots.
The neighborhood is quiet and it's walking distance to downtown and a short drive to the trailhead for some great hiking.
You choose how little or how much to engage with the friendly, helpful hosts. We very much enjoyed our conversations with Bobbie and John.
Wow! What a great experience. The house is absolutely darling and has a warmth that flows into your heart. We kept noticing how happy we felt in the house and in the company of our hosts and their equally charming pets. The room is perfect - two extemely comfortable beds (my friend said she had the best sleep she's had in five years! - me too!), breakfast of yoghurt, granola and fruit was delicious, and the hot tub with its mediteranean tile surrounded by desert mountains takes you back in time. Wish we could have moved in. It was heaven.
Bobbie and John are wonderful hosts in a lovely home. They were very generous and accommodating and I was very comfortable coming and going for work and leaving my dog to hang out with their sweet dog Winston and kitties.
English teachers, potter and poet. World travelers, dog lovers. We love having the world come to us when we cannot be out in the world. We pride ourselves on being good hosts and expect our guests to take pride in being 'good' guests. The golden rule, you know.
