Interaction with Guests
That is for the guests to decide. We enjoy spending time with them, but respect their privacy.
No pets, please.
We live in a quiet, safe neighbourhood, yet close to downtown. Giant's Head Mountain Park is right next to the house. What we love best: Sit in the garden and watch the moon rise over the mountain, magic!
Unfortunately not there is no public transport. You can walk to downtown, for all other places you need a car.
No smoking in the house., please.
We are pretty flexible about most things. Communication is the key.
Beautiful rooms with a shared living room and bathroom. Love the colours in the house. A/C! which is a must in summer there. Their hospitality is unmatched, the only thing that comes close is their amazing breakfast. We only stayed there one night on our travels but it would have been a great place to spend a week. If you love coffee then you will love their fresh coffee with breakfast, and a drip coffee maker with tea options in every room. Very clean.
Meggie and Dag were great hosts, and the room was all I could ask for.
Most important for me is that the WiFi is excellent as I'm a consultant who needs to monitor systems every morning.
This is very convenient to Penticton where I was playing in a bridge tournament.
It could be difficult to get to though if there's a lot of snow as there's a rather steep road up to the house.
We were very pleased with the location and hosts. They were friendly and easy to converse with as well as knowledgeable of the area. The venue was as advertised and well maintained. The breakfasts were excellent and filling. Their early warning system for visitors, Amigo, the easily befriended guard dog only needed a scratch under his chin to turn him to mush.
Meggie and Gerd are great hosts! My parents and I stayed one night. The rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast was so good with home-made buckwheat pancakes and whipped cream, strawberries from the garden and a lot of other tasty things! Great backyard. This is really the perfect place if you want to visit the Okanagan without having to deal with the crowd (especially during the summer). I will definitely be back!
Such an adorable and pleasant European homestay experience! Both Maggie and her husband were welcoming and knowledgeable of Summerland and awesome cooks when it came to breakfast! Will definitely stay again. :)
Great experience. I was in town for a bike rice. The place was clean and tidy. The hosts are very nice, friendly and accommodating. I was able to leave my bike in the garage. The breakfast was delicious.
This was my first experience staying at a bed and breakfast and it couldn't have been any better. I felt welcomed and comfortable. My food sensitivities did not pose a problem. In fact Meggie was very accommodating of all my needs and went out of her way to meet them. I enjoyed my stay immensely and happily recommend The Sundial B & B for anyone needing a "home away from home" type of experience while visiting beautiful Summerland BC.

About the Host, Mechthild
I have been living in the sunny Okanagan Valley for 8 years. My languages are English, German, French and Spanish. I am a Certified Summerland Ambassador and full of ideas and suggestions of where to go and what to do. In my spare time I love to read (we have a small "take-a-book-leave-a-book" library) or do cross-stitch. So relaxing, guests can see some of the results. Good hospitality is very important for us and my family and I try to make every guest feel at home.
