Other Things to Note
Friendly dogs are welcome but are subject to a $10 fee per day. This can be paid by altering the reservation with the fees included.
When coming or going, please make sure that you always close the gate properly so that our dog doesn't escape. Her name is Barley and she is very friendly, but might be overly friendly--just a warning! Please park on the street in front of our house.
It is a pretty quiet neighborhood and there is no partying or loud music inside or in the yard (that's what hotel rooms at the Oceanfront are for!).
Small kitchenette has a place to sit, coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave...feel free to ask for anything else that would be helpful during your stay!
This quaint rustic setting is perfect for a romantic getaway. The barn is cozily furnished and thoughtfully prepared for guests: the kitchen is stocked with coffee and tea, and there are books on the shelves. The bedroom is comfortable and has air conditioning and heating.
My husband and I were extremely pleased with our stay at the barn! We loved the two different levels and just the way the barn was put together. It has inspired us to do an Airbnb of our own :)
We were running late in our travels, so I received an email with instructions from Kara. She wasn't able to greet us, but everything was set up perfectly. We arrived in time to unload our luggage, grab the key she left us and head out the door for a planned dinner with family. Kara met us when we came home that night and made sure we didn't need anything. The neighborhood was very nice. I enjoyed waking up early and having coffee outside. I brought my own but Kara had coffee and tea ready to go in the kitchen. She even put fresh cut roses on the counter from her garden. Very homey. We had our daughter and son in law crash with us at a last minutes notice. While Kara was more than helpful with offering extra bedding arrangements, the kids brought their own blow up mattress and slept in the entry way. It was snug, but we are a camping family. The Cozy Barn is an excellent location too. We were 5 minutes away from the family activities and all the shopping. It is a quaint, small getaway that was perfect for us. Thank you Kara for making our visit home away from home!
We can't wait to come back to Virginia Beach. The location was perfectly accommodating and such a rare experience. I highly recommend and travelers in the area to check out this barn. Surprisingly spacious and stocked with all kitchenware and snacks that were a nice touch! Apple TV too!
