Linda was a fantastic host. She has an extremely cute home with 2 very loving cats. Very friendly. The location was about a 10 minute walk to the hotel where my conference was. 5 minutes in the other direction of Linda's home was local shopping and restaurants. On my last day Linda drove me to my conference because I had a heavy bag with me. I definitely recommend staying with Linda!
Linda was so nice and so welcoming. Her place is charming and cozy. I was there for a conference, not vacationing. When I got there the smell of fresh banana bread was in the air. I had everything that I needed away from home: internet, tv, my own bedroom, and even a couple of curious cats. By the 2nd day they warmed up to me. You do need to read her description as it is a single bed. I would definitely recommend her place as it was only 10 minutes from my conference in downtown Jacksonville.
Linda was very kind, friendly, patient, and accommodating. She was very open to sharing her experiences and interests, which I really enjoyed hearing about. Her place is homey, comfortable, and warm.
Linda was the sweetest host! Everything was exactly as advertised and really better than the photos. The neighborhood is really cute with older homes that have been beautifully renovated. San Marco square is only steps away with all the cool shops, restaurants and pubs.
I will stay with Linda again in a heartbeat!
Linda was a terrific host, and her place was even nicer than advertised. It's a cute carriage house complete with cute cats. Linda is a good conversationalist and had every contingency covered. She gave me menus for good local restaurants, had all manner of amenities ready, and the price was great. The neighborhood is nice, too, and only a short walk/drive from the river walk/downtown. Perfect for my situation (I was attending a conference downtown). Linda even made me coffee and gave me cookies!
Linda is a hostess with the mostest! She is thoughtful - placing fresh flowers in the room, preparing coffee the night before, writing out travel directions, providing baked goods & sightseeing pamphlets. Her home is tastefully decorated & spotlessly clean. San Marco is a great neighborhood with many restaurants, shops, a movie theatre & an independent bookstore.
Linda's place was lovely. A nice room in her carriage house, very close to San Marco restaurants.
About the Host, Linda
As a former Innkeeper of three Bed and Breakfasts I am no stranger to the hospitality field. I currently work in that field in a local restaurant. I enjoy entertaining guests and making them feel at home! I have lived in Jacksonville since 1983, migrating from Connecticut to escape the snow and ice. I enjoy living in the San Marco area because it is surrounded by water ( the St. John's River) and close to the interstate and downtown. I have many interests and hobbies that keep me busy and I love to cook, so that may definately be in your favor !
I would love to help you enjoy your stay in Jacksonville, whether it be business or pleasure. Some of the best friends I have made have been former guests from my innkeeping days at The San Marco Point House, Sabal Palm Inn and The Old City House.... so come on .let's make you one !
