Stay in the heart of the breathtaking Brabantse Wouden National Park, just 10 minutes from Leuven. This room offers stunning forest views from its private rooftop terrace. Cyclists are especially welcome; your bikes can be stored safely in our private garage.

Enjoy its interbellum architecture, completely renovated with modern accents. Enjoy the play of light, the warmth and the comfort it brings with it and the privacy you need to relax during holiday or stay productive during a business trip.

The space
Our beautifully renovated interbellum home sits at the edge of the breathtaking Brabantse Wouden National Park, offering guests the perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility. Although we are conveniently close to the E40 (exit 23 Haasrode–Blanden), the house is located on a silent one-way residential street, ensuring a calm and relaxing stay with ample free street parking and several electric-vehicle charging points in the neighbourhood. The nearest bus stop is only a two-minute walk away and offers a direct connection to Leuven Station (De Lijn 15 and TEC 18), where you can easily continue your journey to Brussels or Brussels Airport. Taxis and Uber also serve the area without difficulty.

Your accommodation is the entire top floor of our home, designed with comfort, warmth and privacy in mind. The spacious bedroom features a comfortable queen-size bed and a generous working area filled with natural light, ideal both for relaxing evenings and productive workdays. Adjoining the bedroom, the cosy living room offers a sofa and dining table, while the private rooftop terrace invites you to enjoy fresh air, sunsets and the peaceful surroundings.

For dining, Oud-Heverlee and Leuven offer a wide range of excellent brasseries and restaurants, and we gladly share our favourite recommendations in the welcome guide. Although there is no kitchen, we provide everything you need for simple meals and snacks, including a small fridge, microwave, plates, cutlery, and cups. Complimentary coffee, tea and a welcome biscuit are waiting for you upon arrival to make you feel at home from the first moment.

Nature lovers will appreciate that the Heverlee and Meerdael Forests begin just around the corner, only a two-minute walk away, offering endless trails for walking, jogging, mountain biking or simply enjoying the silence of the national park. Kayaking and horseback riding are also available in the wider area, making this an ideal place for outdoor enthusiasts. Cyclists may store bicycles safely in our garage; please let us know in advance if you wish to use it.

Our location is perfect not only for tourists but also for guests visiting UZ Leuven, KU Leuven, or IMEC, all of which are nearby. The vibrant city of Leuven is just minutes away, and Brussels with its international institutions lies only 25 kilometres from our door. For practical reasons, we ask guests to park on the street so we can access our garage during your stay.

We look forward to welcoming you to our warm, quiet and nature-filled retreat, an ideal base for both relaxation and professional stays.

Guest access
As a guest, you'll have full access to the entire top floor of the house, providing you with a private and comfortable space to enjoy during your stay. The top floor is directly accessible via the staircase located in the hallway, which is the only shared area in the home. This means that while you might occasionally pass through the hallway, the rest of your experience will be completely private, ensuring a peaceful and exclusive environment.

Enjoy your stay in this spacious and serene upper floor, designed to provide you with the comfort and privacy you deserve.

During your stay
We live in on the ground and 1st floor. We don't have children nor pets, guaranteeing a quiet and peaceful experience. We respect your privacy; however, if you need some tips or advice, we're more than happy to chat and help you out.

Other things to note
Enjoy a comfortable stay just steps away from two iconic cycling routes: the 'Heuvelroute' and the 'Vlaanderenroute' are less than 100 meters from your doorstep. We offer everything cyclists need for a worry-free ride: a basic bike repair kit, a bicycle pump, and even facilities to clean your bike after a muddy adventure. A First Aid Kit is also provided for your peace of mind.

Where you’ll be

Oud-Heverlee, Vlaams Gewest, Belgium

The varied soil composition in the forest supports a rich diversity of flora and fauna. You'll find dry heathlands, pine forests, eagle ferns, winter oaks, beech, alder, ash trees, and unique plants like Solomon's seal, Italian arum, and lily of the valley. Nowhere else in Flanders boasts over 1000 oaks with circumferences exceeding 2.5 meters. The oldest oaks are over 300 years old, with circumferences over 5 meters.

Larches and beeches here reach heights over 40 meters. The forest is home to abundant wildlife, and at dusk, you may spot a herd of deer, with Meerdaalwoud hosting the oldest deer population in Flanders. Birdwatchers can see all three species of spotted woodpeckers (lesser, middle, and great), we even have woodpeckers in our garden that can be spotted easily when resting in our double oak tree.

Insect enthusiasts can find stag beetles, map butterflies, orange tips, and purple emperors. Two ecoducts, Warande and Grote Konijnenpijp, connect the forest's east and west sides, allowing animals to move safely.
