About the B&B-
I am currently living in a huge 2 bed, 2 bath house in the heart of Dubai and I would like to rent out 2 bedrooms to visiting travelers when my family is out of the country. This unit is located at walking distance to the DUBAI METRO GREEN and RED lines . it is well-maintained, & at this rate,& this location, you cannot find a better B&B in DUBAI DOWNTOWN! . It is about 1/2 hour from the airport by the Dubai metro.

This is the second bedroom on rent, and has just recently been listed. You can be guaranteed a clean, safe, and comfortable atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy your holiday in peace. (Check the reviews against my profile for an idea of the experience of our previous guests) You share the common areas of the house with the host and/or other guests but have your own private room. There are 2 bathrooms in this apartment.

Between $55 to 70* * a night for single occupancy
Add $25* for a second guest. Exceptions can be made for a 3rd guest, depending on schedule, and space or size of guest :) like kids. If you are a family of 4, you can book Room 1 and Room 2 for your stay. Message for more info.
* * prices are subject to seasonal change and include extras like wireless internet, private room, Metro electronic Re-charge cards.

Located at the Heart of the city, you are not at the mercy of a car, horrid parking and traffic. Plenty of public transport options.

Bur Juman metro Station) besides the Bur Juman shopping centre is a 7 minute walk from our home. We will show you shortcuts to get there in 5 min!
This is the junction for both Red n Green metro lines.

At Bur Juman , you can take the RED line metro to go to Atlantis, Burj Khalifa, Jumeirah Beach Islands, Mall of Emirates, Emirates Towers, Ibn Battuta mall, Dubai Mall, Dubai Fountain
and ALSO take the GREEN line to get to Deira, Rashidiya, Dubai Airport, Union Square, Palm Deira, and more.
You are connected to both Red and Green line within a 7-10 min walking distance. No need to switch trains.

Its a 10 - 15 min pleasant walk to the Karama shopping centre, Lulu Shopping Center, Spinneys 24 hour store, multiple small convenience stores and Supermarkets dot the area, a short 10-15 min bus ride (From outside Bur Juman mall) to Bur Dubai and Gold Souq and the Abra to cross over to Deira area. It is close to the major highway Sheik Zayed road (Highway E 11) which takes you to worlds tallest building - The Burj Khalifa (830 metres) and the Dubai Mall, Ibn Battuta Mall, Jumeirah Beach, etc..

Being close to the highway means you can get taxis in the area easily. Catching them outside hotels is the best bet. Dubai is like New York, in that you always find taxis on the road, and thankfully don't need to call for them.

Depending on where you need to go, we can give you advise on bus routes. There are Airconditioned bus stops at frequent intervals, and many of the famous areas are connected by bus routes. With the metro, you wouldn't require a bus.

Bur Juman - 7 min walk
Bur Juman Metro station - 7-10 min Walk (Connect to Red and Green lines)
Lulu Shopping Centre - 10 min walk
Dubai Gold Souq - 25 min (By Metro Green line)
Shopping in Bur Dubai - 20-25 min (Metro, Buses, walk)
Zabeel Park - 20-25 min (Bus)
Consulates are close by in a 15 min radius (American, Canadian, British, Indian, Saudi Arabian, and many African countries)

In Short, this is THE PLACE to be if you want to MAKE the MOST of YOUR TRIP TO DUBAI

Airbnb is a popular concept throughout the US and Europe and its a great alternative to cold, cookie cut hotel accommodations, where you get the personalized service through the eyes of a resident. Having lived here for 30 years, I can give you great tips, and tricks in Dubai! It helps to have a local perspective of things so you can make the most of your trip here.

If you're a tourist, the best time to visit is during the winter months october-april. But be prepared to share the beach with other tourists.

Dubai looks beautiful during several
weeks during the year. Decked up streets, several events that happen that bring tourists by the droves.

Islamic New Year (November)
Eid (Aug 2nd week - note there are food restrictions during a portion of the month)
Diwali (November first week)
UAE National Day (Dec 2nd - lots of grand Vegas-style celebrations)

Several other popular international and local events you can plan around

Dubai Shopping Festival (January-February)
Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships (February-March)
Dubai World Cup (March)
Dubai Summer Surprises (June-July - great for kids)
Dubai International Film Festival (December)

Summer time is very hot but you will find the city to yourselves.

Your private room will have a bed, a side table, a closet, and a dresser. It has a beautiful large French window that allows light and fresh air in. This room has a private attached balcony for your use. It also has curtains that can be pulled across for privacy. We have an air conditioner in all the rooms (including the hall), so its a comfortable cooling atmosphere as well. The A/C can cool the room (like make it Alaska cold) in about 10-15 min, so that's a plus.
It also has a ceiling fan if you don't want to freeze with the AC on.

It has been well-maintained, and refurbished with great features for privacy and comfort. It might not be the ideal holiday destination like some other high-end houses listed on here, but it is a no-frills arrangement for a traveler that wants a safe, clean, well-located space with hospitable hosts for a short stay. You should be aware that there are mosques located every 5 min so the prayer calls can be prompt 5 times a day starting at 5 am. You get used to it eventually.

EXTRAS available -

topped up Dubai Metro Pass (Dont forget to return before you leave)
Cold drinking water
Wireless internet
Iron and board
Computer and printer (for small printing jobs)
Any other extras can be checked with before placing your booking. This is a functioning household and we can attend to your requests if not guide you to where they would be available.

While late night check-ins ** are not encouraged, we can work with your schedule to make something work. Please let us know if you have any special requirements before you place a booking. We understand you have late night flights into Dubai, so we can work it out.
**Pls note that a nominal fee may be charged if you have flights arriving early morning between 12 - 6 am.

The unit is in a building, and has an elevator. It is also handicap accessible with a ramp. We have 2 baths. One has a tub, and the other has a bathing area. Its a very spacious layout, with tiling all over. We have a balcony attached to the Hall with an unrestricted view of the city where you can see the metro pass by regularly. There are more pictures on the listing.

the AREA -
Very safe neighborhood, lots of things to do around. There is a computer center which has a internet cafe, and does printing for a small fee. They even have computer software and other accessories.
Plenty of convenience stores, the nearest and largest one being a minute away. A fresh grocery store just round the corner, 2 minutes away.
There is several dry cleaning shops close by, several restaurants open late (see below for restaurants)
Being close to the metro station makes this area pretty safe even at nights.

RESTAURANTS - Several Chinese, Lebanese, Italian, food chains like KFC, Pizza Hut are close at hand - 5-20 min walk, so food is never a problem. They even deliver food to the home, without a hitch. Check my map for the GUIDEBOOK on the best nearby. Grab a cup of tea or an authentic Shwarma sandwich from a roadside joint OPPOSITE the building and enjoy your evenings here before heading out to Bur Juman or Karama Shopping Center to get all your shopping done. There is a great food court in Bur Juman too.

Check out my listing for the guidebook on good restaurants nearby

SHOPPING - There are so MANY SHOPPING AREAS close by Walking or few kms away- eMaxx, Centre Point Shopping centre , Avenue, Bur Juman that houses so many stores, Jumbo Electronics, Gold souq, creek and so much more!

PARKING - there is street parking available, but you cannot be guaranteed a spot. If you are visiting Dubai with a car, pls make arrangements for parking in a garage or parking area for a monthly or weekly fee. There are few around this rental that offers parking for a fee. It is easiest to use the public transport. Ask me for more details if you plan to rent a car, or drive in with your car.

We have a cleaner who comes in every alternate day to do a thorough cleaning of your room and the common areas. Included in the price.

Thank you for your interest in my rental. Whatever be your requirement, message me, and I will see if I can accommodate your requests.

FAQ's -

Q. What is my check-in time?
A. We are flexible about our check-in time, considering most of our guests are international and may fly different zones or red-eye flights. We can accommodate your check-in time depending on your requirements, but if we have a guest that day, then to make it easier for the check out of the guest, and check in for yourself, we will have the standard arrangement of 12 pm as check out time, and you can always access the house to leave your bags, and freshen up. If the timings are odd like 3 am, then we will charge you for the previous night and the inconvenience. *** (Let us know once you finalize your travel itinerary)

Q. There are 2 similar looking listings, which one do I book against?
A. Once the booking is place, I will be your host and point of contact during your stay. I will provide you with my UAE Dubai phone number to be in touch.
Place the booking against the one with profile of Sukumar

Q. What other languages do you speak?
A. We are a family who is fluent in English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. We also understand and can speak a bit of Arabic (depending on who it is). We know the area quite well, and can guide you around the town for your needs. This is a no-frills living arrangement with gracious and accommodating hosts.

Q. Do I pay anything when I check-in?
A. The payment goes through the secure Airbnb website which is released to me one day after you check in. They accept paypal, Credit cards, Debit cards and other major forms of payment types.

There will be NO cash exchanged when we meet, just exchange ideas, experiences, cultures, and travel tips.

Q. What are your refund policies?
A. This place is a popular spot and almost receive daily inquiries considering its location at the heart of the city. However, we understand travel plans can change, and we are only human, so we do have a moderate cancellation policy. If you can cancel before 5 days, you will get all your money back (except for the 6-7% airbnb fees that is non-refundable)... But if your situation warrants cancellation or a refund (ex, flight changes, emergency situations), we can work it out with airbnb.

Be open with us about your situation, and we will try our best to help you.

Q. Important - What are the alcohol laws in the largely muslim area of Dubai?
A. This is a Muslim state, but alcohol flows liberally. By law, it can be served only within the confines of a hotel, but with an estimated 450 hotels in the emirate, some with up to 26 bars, restaurants and clubs, you won't be left thirsty.
Do your own research before you plan to consume alcohol in Dubai. We prefer that you don't drink alcohol inside the house for our comfort.

Q. What is provided in the price?
A. We provide a single bedroom (with a max occupancy of 2) which has a double bed, dressers, closet/shelving area. You also have access to the bathrooms and other common areas. You can store small items in the fridge. You will also have your own key to get in and out.
sometimes we rent out our couch to visitors to crash so then the living room may not be available.

Think of it as your home away from home.

Q. Is this listing an entire apartment or just 1 private room?
A. This is a 2 bed 2 bath apartment in which I live. My wife visits me when she is not with my son/daughter. We live in the next room and receive our guests when they arrive.

**This listing is ONLY for a SINGLE ROOM. Bathroom and the other parts of the house are shared with hospitable hosts and other guests.**

Q. Is the area safe?
A. we have lived in this area for 30+ years. You will find plenty of families living around and their children playing outside in the evening. Its proximity to major tourist attractions ensures that it is safe at all times of the day. Dubai has an active night-life, and one should exercise caution. Especially with moral codes and ethics. So it goes without saying that you should not bring people over to stay the night if they are not part of the official reservation.
The area is safe, and there are cops frequenting the area.

Having said that, the house has never had any break-ins. Ensure the house is locked before you step out and just maintain a low profile while out late night as you would in any foreign land.

Q. Do I have to leave a review?
A. You will feel comfortable and secure reading previous previews from my guest which will give you the absolute unbiased truth of their experience and what you can expect. Since I am new to airbnb, I would love to receive your feedback to improve and of course praise for a job well-done.

We appreciate your good words. You will be left a review upon check out.

Thank you for your interest in our bnb. I look forward to your inquiry, and accommodating you during your visit to Dubai.

House Rules

Please do not smoke or do drugs in the house.
Be aware and respectful of your surroundings.
We request you to remove your footwear upon entering so we can keep the house clean. It is also our cultural practice to stay without footwear. However, you can wear indoor slippers while you are in the home.
Kindly refrain from loud music or parties while staying here. We have neighbors that respect our space and we would like for our guests to leave here without any mishaps
Be clean - clean up after yourself, wipe down Bathroom counters, place the toilet seat appropriately while using it, leave the common areas as they were when you first started using them.
Since the water can remain on the floor after a bath or washing feet etc, kindly use the squeegee mop to push the water towards the drain, as dry as you can get it.
Kindly be communicative of your schedule changes, programs, and any other requirements. We can accommodate your requests within reasonable limits.
Be friendly, and don't have friends stay over after 10 pm. Also, not more than 2 friends at a time please.
We have a washer but not a dryer. With the kind of heat we have here, the air is enough to dry it in a day or less. Wash your clothes in the washer and take it out to the balcony to dry on the clothes line. We use Mother Nature to our advantage, and save on our electricity bills too.
Pls do not lock the door to your room if you step out, or are not at home, because we dont have keys to enter it. However, if you are concerned about safety of jewelery, or any valuable stuff, pls let me know and I can provide you a secure locked place. Be assured that this area is safe, and no one will go into your room while you are occupying it.
Any other rules I will bring up as we go along. Thank you for your interest.
