The Space

This charming house with a view to the all countryside and the vines. (email hidden) from the Canal Du Midi. The owner is a decorator who has lived in many different countries, in Africa, Australia, Spain ( Ibiza, Cadaques ) and the style is very mediterranean and pure with a zest of exotism.
She will love you to be happy in her house that she has completely reinvented in the stabbles of a vigneron castle.
Big open spaces under painted beams of the XVII century , thick walls , a view to the clock of the church that you can nearly touch , a fresh and a beautiful feeling of somewhere else in a very quiet village.
Every day are coming merchants to sell you fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, bread etc...
A local store where you can buy or take coffees or post letters with a charming Valérie on board is across the square.
Nearby, on the Canal du Midi you find deliceous ginguettes, restaurants, a shop on a péniche with fresh bread and croissants.

You can rent péniches and bicycles to go along the Canal.

You will enjoy your stay if you like countryside, walks and good food. A trip to very traditional France nearly "old fashion" with visits to very protected medieval villages or balades on the Canal surrounded by a alley of enormous trees.

  • The only positive things about this rental are that it has a good location in the Barri Gotic, and it has a terrace on the top of the apartment with great views of the city and the Plaza Reial below. The apartment itself leaves much to be desired and we would not recommend it, particularly in the summer months. Because the air conditioners either do not work well or at all, the apartment is very hot during the day and even during the night, unless one wants to open the doors to the outside and then you will hear the constant noise from the Plaza, which often continues until 4 a.m..
The décor is funky Bedouin chic and basically is unfunctional. The 2nd bedroom is really the living room, and is furnished with a bed/sofa in the middle of the floor (basically a large mattress without back or arms) having 7 or 8 decorative pillows and surrounded by retractable draping. Other than lying or sitting on the bed or in an uncomfortable chair, there is really nowhere to sit and read or relax comfortably inside the apartment.
Attic Real is certainly not worth the price unless someone thinks that $2400 a week for a nice terrace view and uncomfortable shabby chic decor is a good deal.

  • Such a beautiful place right in the middle of the old center of Barcelona at the most wonderful Plaza Reial! The apartment is so cosy, the interior and lights are selected so perfect - it makes you feel at home instantly. I could hardly move away from the view of the rooftop terrace. It's fabulous! I hope i can come back soon together with my husband!

  • Super easy to coordinate our stay and arrival with Fabienne and her assistant, Nadiya. Excellent location, so close to everything and right in the mix of life in Barcelona. As others have said, the front bedroom does get a fair amount of noise from the Plaza but the rest of the apartment is unaffected. Loved having both terraces and use of the kitchens - get yourself some fresh eggs & fruit from La Bouqueria and enjoy breakfast on the terrace! Plenty of linens available although toilet paper ran out and you do need to supply your own toiletries. The apartment was comfortable and clean and authentic - loved it!!

  • We had a very nice stay in Fabienne’s apartment. The place is well furnished and equipped and the view on Plaça Reial is literally stunning. The only negative aspect was the noise outside but you can’t be in the heart of Barcelona without compromises. We would totally recommend this place!

  • The location, view, brightness and size were four features of this apartment that we loved during our recent stay in Barcelona. Overlooking the Placa Real and the rooftops of the city, you step out of your door into the action. Had the weather been better, it would have been wonderful to spend time on the terraces. You can wander the old city for hours or and browse the shops and stalls to your heart's content. The metro and many excellent restaurants are nearby. It's an easy walk to the market for wonderful fresh food if you'd like to cook at home. The apartment was generally clean (but a little rough around the edges e.g., white slipcovers dirty at the bottom, some loose tiles, broken lock on the terrace door). The beds and linens were comfortable. Another plus is the elevator, especially for transporting luggage to the fifth floor. Be prepared for a rather dark and gloomy entry to the building itself, noise and light from the street, a rather eclectic and cluttered manner of furnishing, an uncontained shower right by the toilet that floods the bathroom floor, and the need to bring your own tissues, bar soap and shampoo. Fabienne and Nadia (her greeter) were friendly and accommodating. Overall, the apartment was a great place to launch from and return home to, but somewhat overpriced given some of the features mentioned.

He vivido en Australia, en algunos países del norte de África y África subsahariana, e Ibiza. El estilo del apartamento es más bien mediterranio, con un toque barroco.
