Great place, completely private, with easy going owner on premises. Available if you need something. Spend some time in the fabulous Ukrainian Village, Chicago's 1st Ward
This is a popular and safe neighborhood, with alot of young people, as well as little church going ladies and street food carts, local businesses.
Walk to small or larger grocery store, mexican, thai, pan-american, mexican-french restaurants, a great pie shop, mexican bakery, wonderful coffee and sandwich joints, boutique shopping and that's just Chicago Avenue. Walk four blocks and you're on lively Division Street and the list starts all over again!
Convenient to shops, grocery, restaurants, library, bars, gym, swimming pool!
You are seconds to Chicago avenue and CTA transportation that runs all the time to give you easy access to downtown in 15 minutes and anywhere else you want to go in the city.

Pick up, clean up and leave as you found it.
On the whole, it was fine. Inspections from the host were more frequent than expected. Flat was as pictured. The location is really excellent however wifi is intermittent.
We never met our host. She was prompt at getting back to us and checking in on our arrival and departure. The accommodation was less than expected.
Gee, sorry you didn't have a nice visit. It's one of the great chicago neighborhoods and I love the people I've met over the past four years of hosting. My home is half block from the Chicago Avenue bus and says this in the listing! Not sure what you may have expected, but sorry it wasn't what you wanted. Probably you will enjoy hotels rather than home stays next time around. Thanks for your comments
Layne's place was situated in a perfect location for us. Great neighborhood & easy access to downtown. We didn't spend a lot of time at the house but it was ideal for what we were looking for. We were able to check in early which was a huge plus!
Layne's flat is in a great location for experiencing many different parts of the city. It is very close to major bus lines and the Blue line, meaning that almost all of Chicago is accessible. The surrounding neighborhood is one of the best in Chicago. It retains some relics of its Ukranian heritage, while also having a vibrant restaurant, coffee shop, and bar scene. The apartment is filled with Layne's beautiful artwork and is spacious and clean. Layne is very helpful and responsive to any situations that arise, and she has very good recommendations for food and activities in the area. A great place to stay for someone who wants to experience a uniquely Chicago neighborhood in an artistic apartmen!.
A fellow student and I stayed in this amazing place for 3 months while we were both in Chicago. After working late into the night it was always a great feeling to come back to such a warm and cozy place. Layne does a great job keeping everything working and is super responsive when you need her.
Layne was very flexible with our late arrival time and a pleasure to deal with. We really appreciated the bagels and juice she left us for the first morning. The apartment is in a great location if you need to be in Ukrainian Village, Wicker Park, or nearby neighborhoods. It's a reasonable walk up to the Division Blue Line station, and there are several bus lines conveniently located to get you downtown or elsewhere. The apartment worked out well for our two couples, with plenty of room in the living area. The bedrooms are very small, but have real full-size beds.
There are several bars, restaurants and shops around the corner on Chicago Ave including a nice supermarket, and a lot more stuff a few blocks north on Division St and throughout the neighborhood. We'd stay here again if we need a spot in this neighborhood again.
