If you definitely need a larger space or a full kitchen be sure to look at our other offerings.
The neighborhood is stately, low traffic, walking distance to all the fun Browne's Addition places to eat, across the street from the MAC Museum.
Its a private space, but located on the front face of the house so think views and light rather than tucked away. There's TV with premium cable, Wifi, a private bath, comfortable beds with new premium mattress and linens, small cooking area stocked with some basics, butter cream, coffee and tea, and some treats. Free laundry is available, and eggs from our chickens if they are in the mood. Please ask and we will explain how and where.
Interaction with Guests
We respect our guests privacy, but we are here if they need anything or have questions.
Wonderful historic neighborhood five minutes from downtown and less than fifteen from the airport. Walking distance to lots of fun places to eat, a museum, park (live music on Thursdays in the summer)
Bus lines about three blocks will take you downtown in five minutes or to the airport in less than fifteen. Really easy!
Other Things to Note
Please be prepared to give us your actual email contact information--because it is third party, the Air BnB proxy e-mail replies frequently get lost in Spam filters. (AKA the messages don't get through!) This creates very poor communication. We really want our guests to have a smooth neighborhood experience, and easy check in and comfortable stay. We use emails a lot for this.
Our house rules are smoking is not allowed in the apartments or on the grounds. Please do not burn candles. No fires of any type! Also, please do your dishes and do not rearrange the furniture, take down the art, move the decorations, repaint or indulge in any carpentry. Those are our jobs! :)
Some apartments have instructions about specific features or foibles of that unit. Please read and respect these. Be very sure to ask if you are traveling with a pet as we have designated units for them. We do not serve (and never have) a cooked breakfast, but you will find coffee and tea in your unit along with normal kitchen things like pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster etc.
House should be quiet from 10 PM to 7 AM.
Questions? No problem.
Our host Dale was lovely --- readily available by phone and complete in giving us all details of checking in and checking out. Our suite at Wakefield house was gorgeous and comfortable, on a grand old avenue, and Dale made sure that the beds and all amenities were great. I hope to book with her every time we come to Spokane!
ODell House was the perfect stay for my wife and I. The two bed suite was well appointed and afforded us lots of options that we'd find in our own home. The space had the historical charm that one would hope to experience in a 100+ year old turn of the century home. The location was excellent. Our van spent the bulk of the weekend in the shop so my wife and I hoofed it from ODell House into town. The walks were quick and safe. It's a straight shot down 1st Avenue into town. Dale was easy to get ahold of if needed and exceedingly hospitable. With the uncertainty of our van's repair, Dale offered us transportation, should we need it. The personable nature with which Dale hosts her guests is a big reason we'll not only recommend ODell House, but a reason we'd stay again when we're next in Spokane.
The house was fantastic and Dale was a great host! Very easy-going and accommodating. We had a wonderful trip in Spokane and will definitely be in touch next time we're in town. Thanks, Dale!
The apartment was wonderful. Very spacious and with a nice view. Dale was extremely accommodating on short notice and very quick to reply to my messages. It made for a quite relaxing stay in one of Spokane ' s best neighborhoods. The location is also within a couple blocks of bus routes and hiking areas. I would definitely book with Dale again on my next visit to Spokane.
Dale responded to my e-mail right away and was very friendly and professional. I booked her home for my brother and his wife and they loved it. I would highly recommend the Gallery Studio, with it's own kitchen and plenty of space.
Dale was an attentive and accommodating host. I booked very last minute and stayed in the Gallery. While the space was much more than I needed as a single person, the accommodations were comfortable and left me wanting nothing.
The room resembled a traditional B&B room: four-poster beds, vintage linens, antiques galore. There is a little maintenance that could be done but only cosmetic - things like fixing the towel bar in the bathroom. Truly nothing that detracts from the pleasure of staying in such a lovely home in a beautiful location.
This was a great accommodation for me & my dog: clean, spacious, quiet, private, & in a charming historic district with a dog park & sidewalks for strolling. The price was very reasonable, the host was helpful in suggesting an excellent restaurant (Italia Tratorria) within walking distance & even shared wonderful fresh eggs from her chickens with me. It was a great way to discover Spokane.

Hi, my name is Dale--yes a woman called Dale.
(There were lots of us named that in the late 1950's. Something to do with Roy Rogers, I think.) My partner is Rick.
Rick and I run the Odell House in Spokane, a grand Queen Ann Victorian featuring six apartments in 5478 square feet on a beautiful and quiet corner right by the MAC museum. Built in 1898 and still going strong.
We also practice Aikido, ride bikes and horses. The former for transportation, the latter because it is what I grew up doing. (I'm also a professional horse trainer.) We have a fleet of loaner bikes at the Odell house--a case of junkie turned pusher if there ever was one--and the farthest west Electrical Vehicle charging station currently in Spokane. (The house car is zero emissions Nissan all-electric Leaf.) Our other interests are organic gardening, urban chicken raising, art (Rick paints), sustainable living.
I would imagine that we are one of a very few short stay hotels that uses all organic soaps, has a heat pump system for hot water, and line dries laundry whenever possible. But yes, we have air conditioning in the apartments in the summer.
We've been providing furnished apartments for travelers for fifteen years and we LOVE our Air BnB guests! In fact we like them so much that we have a reduced rate just for them. Normal that you find published is about 20% more than the one you find here. Our experience of the Air BnB clientele tells us they are tidier, more considerate, and just plain more interesting than the run of the mill. We hope you'll come visit! Take one of the bikes for a spin.
