Interaction with Guests
The quarter Salario goes back to 1911, its name comes from the Salaria Way, named so by Romans as it was used to carry salt from the sea to the Sabina region. The architecture of its buildings is elegant and it's a very "green" area: the beautiful Villa Borghese Park with its museums and zoo inside, Villa Torlonia, Villa Paganini and Villa Albani parks.
Besides the Aurelian Walls, there are roman archeological finds as Horti Sallustiani, the grave of the poet Sulpicius Maximus, a hipogean temple, the Lucilio Peto Mausoleum.
Even though it is the smallest quarter in Rome in its area there are many important institutions as Ministries, Universities, Polyclinic, Embassies. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MACRO) and many Art Galleries have turned the Salario quarter an artistic point of reference.
The Salario is adjacent to Parioli, Pinciano, Trieste and Nomentano quarters.
The apartment is located in central Rome, near (15-20 min. by step or 5 min. by bus) the railway station Termini. The nearest metro station Policlinico (Line B, The blue line), bus stops Nomentana / Regina Margherita and V.le Regina Margherita / Nizza. On the ground floor apartment is located a comfortable family cafe Contrucci. At 100 meters from the house there are 2 supermarkets and the old food market. Restaurants I Butteri, Itoya (Japanese cuisine), Fiesta Y Siesta (Mexican food), Villa Paganini. Sights nearby - Museum of Contemporary Art MACRO, parks, Villa Albani, Villa Torlonia, Villa Borghese.
The flat is situated near bus stop Nizza/Regina Margherita which connects by bus 80 and 80B with historical center, very easy and quickly, 2-3 stops and you are there. Also most of my guests go by step throw Villa Borghese to Piazza del Popolo.

The Vespa room a very nice place! Irina made the appartment really beautiful, and the stay was enjoyable.
The room was precisely as depicted in the pictures, with a useful air ventilator. Also a television, but too busy in Rome to watch it. The kitchen was fully equipped. That is a big advantage of this place because there are plenty of supermarkets at walking distance from the place. We like cooking, and it was a good occasion to cook with Italian food. We didn't miss anything in the kitchen.
Talking about the surroundings, the place is accessible. Enough bus lines to go to the centre. Anyway, we walked to a few places like the Borghesia park and we enjoyed the italian streets and weather. The quarter is calm.
The only disappointment came from the arrival day. It was asked to us to arrive at a precise time which did not really leave us time in case of unforeseen events. Financial compensation was requested if delay was experienced. Although we understood the principles behind this rule, we were a bit surprised. Our plane landed ten minutes in advance but a little bit of waiting at the luggage restore, at the airport train station and then walk to the apartment... We arrived with a few minutes delay unfortunately. But nothing was charged, thank to Irina's understanding.
Beside that point, we recommend this place which has one of the best quality/price ratio in the surroundings !
Nice simple clean room in a very active neighborhood. No lack of restaurants, cafes, gelato! Very close to Villa Borghese; one block to MACRO (Rome Modern Art Museum).
Window looks out on courtyard for the building which is at least 5 stories and probably 15-20 apartments plus a gelato store. Very noisy in the evenings until midnight. It was hot/warm so I wanted my window open and just put up with the noise.
Irina was a wonderful and extremely friendly host who was very helpful during our stay in Rome. She arranged for a private driver to pick us up from the airport and when we arrived at the apartment, she took the time to tell us how to get to the city and the main tourist attractions using the public transport system. The house is clean and well equipped as well. Also, she's easily contactable by mobile and whatsapp. Would definitely recommend her place :)
A very nice experience staying at Irina's flat. If my friends travel to room, I will definitely recommend to stay here.
Room condition: A warm and cozy room like shown in the photos. Room and kitchen very clean. Wifi is OK. Good shower water pressure. Rome is a little cold during our stay, but inside the room very warm.
Location: quiet and safe neighborhood. An ice cream bar with wifi just downstairs. Several supermarkets, cafe bars, pizza shops and restaurants in a few steps. A few minutes walk a nice Chinese food take-away restaurant, also a telecom where can buy mobile phone SIM card. Very easy traffic to most attractions and train station. And several new stands where can buy tickets just nearby.
Irina is very nice. She provided us two maps: one map of Rome with attractions and one map of neighborhood(supermarkets, restaurants, bus stops...) Very useful!
And also her instruction on how to get her flat from airport is very useful we easily arrived her flat even though we were 1st time in Italy. She is kind to answer our question like where and which type SIM card to buy...
We forgot to inform her before arriving. No one was in the flat but she came fast once we message her on airbnb. So please don't forget to make an appointment before arriving as she doesn't live in the flat.
Ottima posizione, stanza molto accogliente e pulita. Irina è stata molto disponiblile nel darmi tutte le informazioni di cui avevo bisogno e agevolarmi negli spostamenti. Non l'ho conosciuta personalmente, ma il suo collaboratore è stato molto gentile.
