The quarter Salario goes back to 1911, its name comes from the Salaria Way, named so by Romans as it was used to carry salt from the sea to the Sabina region. The architecture of its buildings is elegant and it's a very "green" area: the beautiful Villa Borghese Park with its museums and zoo inside, Villa Torlonia, Villa Paganini and Villa Albani parks.
Besides the Aurelian Walls, there are roman archeological finds as Horti Sallustiani, the grave of the poet Sulpicius Maximus, a hipogean temple, the Lucilio Peto Mausoleum.
Even though it is the smallest quarter in Rome in its area there are many important institutions as Ministries, Universities, Polyclinic, Embassies. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MACRO) and many Art Galleries have turned the Salario quarter an artistic point of reference.
The Salario is adjacent to Parioli, Pinciano, Trieste and Nomentano quarters.
The apartment is located in central Rome, near (15-20 min. by step or 5 min. by bus) the railway station Termini. The nearest metro station Policlinico (Line B, The blue line), bus stops Nomentana / Regina Margherita and V.le Regina Margherita / Nizza. On the ground floor apartment is located a comfortable family cafe Contrucci. At 100 meters from the house there are 2 supermarkets and the old food market. Restaurants I Butteri, Itoya (Japanese cuisine), Fiesta Y Siesta (Mexican food), Villa Paganini. Sights nearby - Museum of Contemporary Art MACRO, parks, Villa Albani, Villa Torlonia, Villa Borghese.

Irina was a great host. Met us when she said she would, was very easy to stay in touch with and provided us with a very clean and comfortable room to stay in. The apartment is perfectly located, we walked everywhere and back and the gelato shop downstairs is a definite bonus. When it was time for us to leave, she let my sister stay longer than check out free of charge. I highly recommend staying here.
Had a great stay at Irina's place. The room was clean & well furnished...and the apartment was in a great area for exploring Rome. I walked absolutely everywhere from there quite easily and there was a fantastic restaurant right across the street! The kitchen was well stocked and it was fun to have the space to catch up with other travelers. I would stay there again if I'm back in Rome.
Good location, near a such a great chinese restaurant, italian restaurant:), gelato ice cream store and couple of super markets. Irina is very friendly and helpful, offering a map and information. Our room is spacious, comfortable and warm. The kitchen is also big and is followed a laundry room which is great.
My stay at Irina's was great. Irina met me at the apartment. She has prepared maps of public transportation and lists of local restaurants, grocery stores and atms for me. The room was a good size and was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Everything was easily accessible via the public transportation that was close by. Irina provided slippers to me, which was great since I hadn't thought about the floor being tile. There was also a hairdryer, which I hadn't been expecting. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The apartment was as in the photos: very spacious and clean and very well located. The ice-cream parlor just downstairs is also very convenient :)
Irina was a nice host and she was always available if I needed to contact her for any reason. This is definitely an excellent choice for a stay in Rome!
Staying at Irina's was great. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Irina was helpful and even bought me a bottle of bubbles as it was my birthday - hostess with the mostess!
We had a great time staying there and it has easy walking distance to the centre, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it could be a bit noisy in the evenings.
We enjoyed our stay in the Vespa room. It was large and had an ensuite. The kitchen was well equipped and a place to share stories with other guests. Our only criticism of the Vespa room is the noise from the courtyard. With the window closed and fan on, that helped.
The location was perfect. A large market is around the corner as are convenience stores, pharmacy, great restaurants and Gelateria.
Irina is a lovely host who was patient with our language barrier and barrage of questions. She is very welcoming with her sunny disposition and winning smile.
a very good address, Irina is nice, and all is exactly like on the photos. The appartement is big and very clean.
