The Jumping Trout Bed and Breakfast is the perfect retreat offering couples a private queen size room with ensuite overlooking stunning river and mountain views.
Situated 3.5km from Westport town, our Bed and Breakfast is private and quiet where you can relax with a good book. At the end of the day, sit back and relax in our outdoor spa where you can enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the spectacular views and sunset.
We are handy to local award winning restaurants, beaches and other tourist attractions, including Coaltown and Denniston Experience which give insights into the early coalmining days.
There are also many walks in the area, with the Seal Colony & Cape Foulwind Walkway being one of the most popular. Here you will find a well marked walking track that follows the coastline, crossing farmland along the way, and leads to viewing platforms directly overlooking the colony. You will be amazed with how quickly the scenery changes!
For the more adventurous Underwater rafting and adventure caving can be experienced at Charleston which is located 30km south of Westport

Leigh-Anne and Patrick were superb hosts! The room was really lovely, nice linen, comfy bed, soft towels and shower pressure (very important in NZ)! The best night sleep in NZ so far. Gorgeous house with amazing views overlooking the river!
A full fry up Breakfast was served the next day (also very yummy)! the hosts were so friendly and welcoming!! Thank you so much! I'd highly recommend this place for people passing through Westport.
We immediately fell in love with the place when arriving. The view of the Buller river is breathtaking. The room is beautiful, offering a very comfy bed & a great ensuite bathroom. The probably most delicious breakfast gave us a good start in the morning. Leigh-Ann & Patrick are perfect hosts, they really made us feel very comfortable. We enjoyed the chance to have a chat in the evening. Highlight recommended for a stay in the region.
We loved to stay with Leigh-Anne and Patrick. They have a lovely place with greate views. We enjoyed the breakfast with them and enjoyed talking to both. We recommend this place.
We could only stay one night in this fantastic bed and breakfast, but the welcome and the yummy breakfast in our room were unique! We would definitely stay there again, next time! Thank you so much!
Thank you to Leigh-Anne and Patrick for being such wonderful hosts, they not only interacted with us but gave us advice on where to go and what do do, the Jumping Trout is in a glorious position overlooking the Buller River, the guest room was spotless, the breakfast superb ,we would have no hesitation in staying there again or recommending to friends
Leigh Anne and Patrick were fantastic hosts and provided one of the best b&b experiences we've ever had. If I had known what I know now about the Jumping Trout and the West Coast when we planned our trip we would have stayed much longer. I could not give a higher recommendation.
Hi Kevin & Alexia. Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We genuinely felt the same about you both as guests and we would so have loved you to stay on with us. If you are ever back our way, please look us up. Enjoy the rest of your trip in NZ and all the very best for 2015.

Hi, My husband Patrick and I enjoy hosting our B & B on Airbnb and look to forward to sharing our lovely piece of paradise. Our home is situated on 9 hectares, overlooking the beautiful Buller River and is surrounded by large gardens, and native bush. We both enjoy the outdoors, and living on the West Coast of the South Island in New Zealand is the perfect place to be able to pursue our interests.
