Interaction with guests
Barbara and I occupy the ground floor apartment and so are readily available to offer advice on local amenities, regional travel to Wales, Birmingham and access to our 2 international airports, Birmingham and Manchester. We have lived here and explored the area for 30 years and will be pleased to offer you the benefit of our experience.
The central east and south Shrewsbury neighbourhood has been developing over the last 175 years as a unique microcosm of domestic architectural styles. The buildings, both domestic and industrial mark a high water mark of intimate urban design.
Walking to the town centre is a joy, through Becks Field and the Quarry to its medieval heart. The bus stops outside the apartment taking you directly to the Bus and Railway Stations. The inner ring road connects you to the main roads north south east and west.
Other things to note
You will be staying in a quiet residential area on the periphery of the town centre, within the inner ring road giving great access to the West Midlands, Wales and the motorway system should you wish to venture further afield.
An age limit of 30 years and over will be applied.
External shoes are to be removed and stored in your private hall.
I am a retired architect with a passion for; good food, sailing, jazz and classical music, hill walking, history and contemporary dance. I am married to Barbara, a keen gardener, retired nurse, great cook and bibliophile who was brought up in Australia and we jointly host the Studio Apartment. We both have a passion for travel and have enjoyed the northern and southern hemispheres, with the high spot being a journey to the Antarctic where I can claim to have camped out under the stars. We have 2 adult children, an animation artist and author and a fishing fanatic. We occasionally board guide dogs prior to their allocation to their vision impaired carers. On occasions we can be seen scouring the fields assisting in ecological surveys to determine the scope of wildlife in areas destined for building development.
