With it's new port that hosts private yachts, secret tiny bays with crystal clear water, Cesme Castle, white sand beaches, cobblestone streets, bazaar, fish restaurants, "kumru sandwiches" and night life 'Ceshme' is one of the most popular beach towns of well-heeled Turks as well as international tourists. It's 30 min drive away from our house on a 6 lane highway.
One of the pretties Mediterranean villages. 20 min away from our house from the new highway. Dining at some of the most amazing restaurants, afternoon stroll in the handcrafts bazaar, Turkish coffee in the village center are only few things to do after a day at the beach, or surfing. Alacati is considered as on of the best spots for windsurfing in the world. There are bunch of beach clubs, where you can lounge and have a cocktail and just enjoy watching surfers, or take classes and become one of them!
You can do day trips to one of the largest ancient city Ephesus, and beautiful wineries of Shirince, and Urla. Lots to explore in the area, and we'll be happy to show you around.
Now there are also daily ferries to the Greek island of Chios from Cesme port, for a round trip costing only 30 Euros. You get the chance of exploring both sides of the Aegean sea.
When you come back from your day trips you'll sip the local wines to the most beautiful sunsets from the terrace of your room.
Your Hosts and Details about the House:
Your hosts will be my parents, who are retired and have been living in this house most of the year for almost 7 years.
It's a 3 story house, with living room, kitchen, a small toilet and their winter garden room on the first floor; 3 bedrooms and the bathroom on the second floor and a big bedroom with a refrigerator, fireplace (which we don't use much in the summer!), AC, and a nice terrace on the third floor. We always have a lot of international guests, as both me and my brother have been living abroad for many years and have a lot of friends from all around the world that would like to come and enjoy the mediterranean breeze in our terrace every once in a while. This year I decided to list the room on the top floor here, to provide them a little additional income and keep them occupied.
I'll be doing the correspondences, as they don't speak perfect English - but they are both amazing communicators in person.
There are very affordable local charter flights from Istanbul or Antalya to Izmir. Or even direct flights from a lot of European cities. Pegasus Airlines ((website hidden)) or Atlas Jet, or Onur Air has great deals. Once you land in Izmir you can either rent a car from the airport and I can give directions to the house- which would be the best option to go around the area, to all the aforementioned attractions, or my dad can pick you up in his cute little chevy!
You can rent their car to go around for daily trips, but they wouldn't mind picking you up from the main street if you were to take public transportation to the beaches, or go down to town center for groceries..etc.
Also, feel free to buy fresh fish, or what ever you like from the local stores and throw on the BBQ in the garden for dinner. They will be happy to share some Raki (Turkish traditional liquor - like Ouzo, or Pastis) with you around the garden table.
Enjoy your stay - I'm already jealous...
As in most Turkish houses we prefer not to go into our house with shoes.
You can use the kitchen, refrigerator. And hopefully will utilize the dishwasher and won't leave your dishes to my mom :)
Also, please keep in mind that this is not a hotel room, and as there are advantages and beauties of sharing someone's house (experiencing the real life in a foreign country), there are also things to pay attention to. Like, being courteous , considerate to the host's life.
My parents (your hosts) are lively and a modern couple, that won't go to sleep till late in the evening. But, they would appreciate if you don't make loud noise or party in the terrace till 3 am. As long as you are careful with noise, and pay attention to locking the doors properly, you can of course come in and out of the house anytime you want.
Thanks for your consideration in advance, have a lovely and peaceful stay.
It was a very pleasant stay. The hosts were very helpful and exeeded our expectations positively. There was a homelike atomosphere, which we very much appreciated. It was a splendid location to visit Ephesus, Pergamon, Erythrai (Ildir), Teos as well as sun and sea bath in the numerous beaches on the coast within 30km. We were with our 4year old daughter who was also very happy (toys etc.) to stay with our hosts and also play in the pool, which is 100m from the house. The appt itself was comfortable, nice and cosy with a beautiful view from a private tarrace. We definately recommend to stay there!
Absolutely wonderful!! Simin's parents gave us a very warm welcome and were great hosts. The house was lovingly decorated with bits and bobs from around the world, the garden was full of flowers and fruit trees (organic apricots and plums!). The room was spacious, light, with a great terrace for watching sunsets. Breakfast was big, authentic turkish and very yummy. We never went hungry. Simin's parents were also very helpful with recommending places to go, things to see and things to eat. Communication was not an issue. We communicated with a mix of English, German and gestures. We were very sad to leave.
We spent 8 wonderful days at Burchin`s and Nusret`s house and enjoyed their great turkish hospitality. The swimming pool is nearby and never overcrowded, so we went there regularly. We enjoyed very delicious breakfasts in a lovely garden surrounding. Burchin and Nusret helped us a lot to get around and picked us up when necessary.
Thanks a lot to Burchin, Nusret and Simin for a great turkish accomodation.

Where to begin - well, first time in Urla, but definitely not my last!
Simin and her parents are just what I call lovely, friendly, very helpful and great hosts!
Simin's parents picked me up at Izmir airport and from the very first moment, I felt as if I visited relatives in Turkey!
The room they provided was amazing, lovely furnished (with a fridge) and the huge terrace was awesome. The house is located outside Urla and a 30 minute drive to Cesme but still close to Urla centre with a lot of restaurants and a night market (also a lot of markets where you can buy fish). Oh yes, and there is a swimming pool just a one Minute walk from the house:-)
Burcim's breakfast was just fantastic and ten times better than any breakfast in a 5 star hotel (eggs, cheese, salad, olives, homemade jam, melon, grapes and cherries, juice and tea or coffee!). We had dinner and BBQ's together and they even introduced me to some of their friends. It was the first time for me that I had a Raki together with delicious fish and food.
They even lent me their car so that I could explore the surroundings.
Very impressed overall, I will definitely come back!
Thanks a lot for your kind attentions!
This is amazing place! The house surrounded by beautiful, small garden, the big, cozy room, the great terrace you wish to spend more time on, and of course our hosts - Simin's Parents, who made us feel like at home!
Simin was very helpful, and I just can't express how grateful we are!
We'll try to send there our parents :)
Our best wishes to the wonderful family!

Very, very nice and warm people and an interesting insight into a non mass touristic spot in this area. You feel immediately at home and there are good fish restaurants near by. Its easy to drive to the hot spots of the area and definity a good alternative to a Izmir town location. Its like visiting your Turkish relatives, which you havent met before. Thank you for everything. Tesekür. See you. Jochen and family
Meeting Simin’s parent was a one of the highlight in Turkey visit. There are lot of ancient building in Turkey. We could watch a nice video of these places but we could not meet the nice Turkish retire couple without traveling few thousand miles. We are very grateful to meet and see the part of retired Turkish couple. They came out midnight to rescue us when we lost 0n the way home. The room was comfortable has a nice view. The garden was beautiful and we spend a lot of time at the porch. We really enjoyed staying Urla but Urla is not a suburb of Izmir. We had a rental car. We recommend this place for few days relaxing. They said there is a good beach and wind surfing place nearby hut we didn’t visit.

I live mostly in San Francisco, CA and work as an event planner for the past 5 years. I've been coming back home, Istanbul/Izmir, Turkey last two years for the summer. I'll be spending most of my summer once again in Istanbul, working with my sister in our PR firm. I listed my parents house in Urla, Izmir to help them make some additional income and give them something to deal with, as they are both retired.
I'll be making all the correspondences regarding renting the rooftop terrace private room in the house.
For short term we can also rent the whole house, if you are coming with big family or group of friends. You can find more details of the house and the area in the listing.
Thanks for checking out, and have a great trip - where ever you may endup going.
