I enjoyed my stay at Bill's place. It is spacious and private. However, it was a bit dirty and that made me slightly uncomfortable. On the bright side, it is convenience as it nears to train station and a lot of food choices nearby. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
It's really a good place to live!! 5 mins walk to train station and big supermarket! And 2 mins walk to the bus stop, it towards shopping mall-- Chadston, which is it he biggest one in the south of the earth~ this room is cozy and big!~ it has everything I need! Highly recommend!
Bill is very nice and considerate. The apartment has good location, clean and comfortable. We felt at home. Thank u bill for the great hospitality, we'd love to stay in ur place, if we'll be in melbourne again.
Bill is a nice guy and the other room mates are friendly and helpful as well. we can use kitchen and all the facilities. Super market is at hand so staying in this place make easier to everybody. Certainly train station is too close. good to stay. perfect place for everybody and I will chose the place again..
We needed somewhere comfy, close to public transport and shops yet quiet for study and this place met those need perfectly.
To begin with, Bill is a perfect host. Our arrival was delayed some 5+ hours from our original meeting time but he was at the front of the house the second we arrived, gave us a full thorough tour, and then left us to our own devices. I texted a couple of times with questions and they were answered instantly, but aside from that you're free to come and go and use the kitchen/bathroom as you please by yourselves; there's no 'forced conversations' with intruding hosts over the breakfast table every day whatsoever, and we really appreciated that.
This is the ultimate house to stay if you want privacy, and is very very very quiet. Once in your room you can't hear anything else from outside it, even if it's raining outdoors. I'm not sure whether it's the well-made 1930's walls, but along with the quiet in the middle of winter it was lovely and warm. The bed is huge and ridiculously comfortable, the room has everything you need along with a giant TV, and the house is charming and, again, has everything you need. After 7+ hours of travelling to get to Melbourne getting to this house, and our first Airbnb experience, was not only a relief but a delight.
Also, the room is considerably larger than the photos depict.
One of the best things about this location (which we only discovered after arrival) is how incredibly close it is to the Koorang Road shopping strip, which has a Woolworths, gym, nearly 20 restaurants (Greek, Thai, Russian, Indian, to name a few), wonderful cafes, convenience stores, bakeries, butchers, op shops, banks, hairdressers, post office, Asian and Indian grocers - literally you name it, it's there. The house is 1 minute from a bus stop, and 3 minutes walk from Carnegie train station, which is around 15 minutes to get to Flinders St. Some days we took a 15 minute walk to Chadstone Shopping Centre, the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere (it's 2 minutes by bus).
The neighbourhood is lovely and leafy, and incredibly safe. We felt fine walking to Woolworths at 11pm to pick up last minute snacks.
Basically, we couldn't be happier with our stay and would recommend this room to anyone.
Bill was a fantastic host, he went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, was flexible numerous times about the length of our stay and was very helpful in securing our permanent home in Melbourne - so plenty of local knowledge to take advantage of. I would highly recommend staying with Bill - he will definitely look after you!
