A lovely retreat on Nova Scotia's South Shore. One and a half hours drive from Halifax, seven minutes from Liverpool, on a string of the most beautiful white sand beaches on the East coast of Canada.
Close to great restaurants (Lanes Privateers, Liverpool, The Quarterdeck, Summerville Beach, White Point Resort) a golf course, fabulous walking, swimming, kayaking, and surfing!
Have a look at our site, LIttle House at Hunts Point, for testimonials from those who've stayed, loved it, and returned!
Indoors, a lovely wood stove to cosy up to through the coldest winter day, and outside, a fire pit in the lower garden, perfect for summer bonfires, watching fireflies and roasting marshmallows after a long day on the beach.
This is a writers retreat, so we've avoided TV's, telephones, internet or wifi. All can be accessed close by, but we've tried to make this a get-away spot.
In the autumn, which is often the best season here you can pick blueberries, pears, and blackberries on the property.
Interaction with Guests
You'll be told the location of the key, and put in contact with our caretaker (Larry) and fabulous cleaning/maintenance woman, (Anne). Any questions or concerns you have can be dealt with very quickly as they both make themselves very available.
This is one of the most gorgeous shorelines in the world: we fell in love with it when we first visited Nova Scotia, and the empty clean beaches and incredible walks and natural beauty definitely influenced our decision to move from London England, to Nova Scotia.
Your really need a car to get to the Little House, but the Cycling is great in this area, as is the sea kayaking.
We allow well trained dogs, if they are not left in the property alone, or allowed on the furniture. WE prefer a dog to be in a kennel if it stays in the property alone.
Absolutely No Smoking in the property, or near the building.
Parking available for three or four cars.
Generally we ask guests to bring their own sheets/pillowcases/t-towels and towels, and to leave the cottage clean with all garbage removed when they leave. This way we don't charge for cleaning. If guests want linen provided and the cottage cleaned after they leave, we'll provide that for a surcharge of $60 (depending on length of stay).
A sweet little home in Hunts Point! Shelley's home is fully equipped with bed linens, towels and all utensils. The kitchen allowed us to cook our own meals and the outdoor fire pit made cooking easy and fun.
We couldn't have asked for more. This little home really made our vacation perfect! Thanks Shelley :)
