Guest Cottage at Dolores Park

Cabin - Private room · Oakwood St, San Francisco, CA 94110, United States

The Space

My dog, my brother, and I all live together on Oakwood, a quiet street a short block from Dolores Park and around the corner from Delfina, Bi-Rite and Tartine. Behind our apartment is a guest cottage with its own bed, bathroom, shower, space heater, desk, couch, wifi router, microwave oven, sci-fi library, yoga ball, Elvis costume, and so on... all of which will be at your disposal.

We're poised on the border between two of the most vibrant neighborhoods in San Francisco -- The Castro and The Mission -- with Muni, BART, and buses only a few blocks away.

Extras: On the patio there's a propane heater for chilly nights and a propane grill for whenever BBQs. If you've got a kid or an extra friend, we can roll out the futon.

On weekdays, it would be best if you can check in after 6:00 pm, since we both work day jobs. If that's impossible or inconvenient, we can probably arrange to come home mid-day to meet you.

Additional note: the cottage is located behind the apartment, and there are about 20 stairs to go down to get to it. Please keep this in mind if you or your 4-legged friend have difficulty with stairs. Thanks!

  • I absolutely loved this. The location could not be better (I've stayed multiple places in The Mission and this is literally the. best. location.

I had no problems whatsoever and the neighborhood was accessible, quiet, perfect. Checkin and checkout was easy and the guest cottage was delightful.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay for our first time in San Francisco. Nick was very helpful allowing us to store our bags prior to check in so we could see the city without having to carry everything around. The cottage is very nice and clean. It was nice to have privacy but also close enough if we needed anything from the host. The location couldn't have been better! We loved being so close to the Bi-Rite Creamery and Pizzeria Delfina. The Mission neighborhood has so much to offer. We would highly recommend this neighborhood and staying in this airbnb.

  • Nick was a fantastic host, and the cottage was perfectly described; it was private and comfortable. As for the location, it was centrally located and within walking distance of many points of interest.

  • The location was perfect and the space was quiet and private. The bed was comfortable. I thought it was overpriced for what was the equivalent of a large college dorm room. There was no dresser or closet or TV. The furniture looked as if it was randomly picked up at a yard sale. The host was there to greet me and communication was easy. Nick was very nice but a little too laid back for my taste. This was my first experience with airbnb, For a few dollars more, I'd prefer a hotel.

  • Nick was really really nice! The cottage is cute and in a perfect location. We really recommend to stay there!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at the cottage last year and loved it so much that it was our first choice for accommodations this time around! It's comfortable, has every amenity you might want, and is in a great location. I can't speak highly enough of Nick, either. Definitely stay here on your trip to the Bay Area!

  • comfortable and well located in the Mission. Access requires up stairs to owner's apt., pass through and then down stairs to the cottage. Overall clean and personable owner. Would use again.

  • Quiet, great location and friendly host. Good value for the money and the location.

  • Alex's brother Nick was a great host. I stayed in their cottage with my fiancé and pug and Nick was kind enough to walk my pug one night when we were out and when we ran out of toilet paper, he went out and bought some for us right away. We couldn't have asked for a better stay, especially since the cottage was so close to great bars, restaurants, and Bi-Rite creamery! We would definitely stay here again.
