About This Listing
After going up some stone & wood stairs, discover the indoor terrace & outdoor balcony overlooking the garden
Come and spend relaxing Parisian moments in a beautiful and comfortable 3 bedroom duplex apartment in an original house located in magical settings (former convent in a cobble-stoned street creating a village style atmosphere in the trendy area of the 20th arrondissement, nearby the Père Lachaise cemetery).
Ideal for 1 or 2 families (as the children's room can fit up to 4 kids or teenagers), this very quiet and large apartment (2 levels of 70 square meters each) also has a in-door terrace opening onto a secured balcony (with a table & chairs making it possible to enjoy the fresh air) overlooking the garden & paved courtyard shared with the other families living opposite. There are many outdoor games (such as football, golf, badminton...) and facilities (picnic mat, sun chair...) made available to guests.
When you enter the apartment, you will discover a very large double living/dining room area and a design bar separating the semi-open fully-equipped modern kitchen (dish washer, micro-wave & traditional ovens, kettle, toaster, large fridge & freezer...).
The cosy atmosphere of this main room is enhanced by the wooden beams & floors as well as by the homey decor surrounding a protected fire place.
On the same level, a small corridor (with many cupboards and a laundry area with washing machine & drier) leads to one of the 3 bedrooms. This one has its own en-suite bathroom with 2 washbasins. The toilets are separate.
On the first floor, enjoy the full comfort of 2 other bedrooms (1 with a large double bed & the other with 2 single beds & an extra double mattress if necessary), 2 other bathrooms (1 with bath & toilet and 1 with a large shower) and a cosy office/library space (with large band internet, wifi, cable TV, DVD/Dvix player with USB port and electric piano).
This completely charming and unique duplex, situated in a rare pedestrian village area of East Paris, is located just round the corner from the very "in" Mama Shelter hotel/bar/restaurant (prior bookings highly recommended!) & La Flèche d'Or, which is one of the most hype concert places of Paris.
Many shops, restaurants, supermarkets, theaters & cinemas nearby and less than 20 minutes away from the heart of Paris (Nôtre Dame, Hôtel de Ville, Centre Pompidou Modern Art Museum) or other well-known sites such as Montmartre, Eiffel Tour, Champs Elysées, Bastille... thanks to 5 different very close bus routes (n°26 or 57 & 64 or 76, as well as the PC2, soon to be replaced by the ring-road tram) & 3 different metro lines (n° 2-Alexandre Dumas, 3-Gambetta or 9-Maraîchers) at approximately 10 minutes walk.
There are also 3 very close-by Velib' bike stations as well as one Autolib' station (on the Rue des Pyrénées).
If you come by car, the closest public parking open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, very safe and cheap, is located in the parallel street named Rue du Clos (details available on-line).
A comprehensive and detailed booklet about the households hints and appliances is provided to guests upon arrival, along with a map of Paris and other useful documents.
When it is wet outside, we usually take our shoes off just in front on the covered entrance at the top of the outside staircase...
We were a group of 7 adults and enjoyed our stay in Stephanie's house. The house is very beautiful and the pictures reflect the real conditions of the house. It is well maintained and very comfortable. The location is somehow away from the main touristic area (30-40min) but well connected (with bus 76 to louvre just 5 min walk away or three metro stations within 10 min)
Stephanie is a great host, she was very helpful and informative at every moment and made sure our stay was the best possible. 5 stars for the host!
The neighborhood is good and there are some options of restaurants very close.
I recommend this house to enjoy Paris when traveling in large groups or families.
Stephanie could not have been more helpful and informative: for example she gave us excellent advice about how to get to house and her estimates of costs were spot on. Her “household hints” were also detailed and very useful. The “duplex"house is lovely - spacious, and just as depicted in the photographs. It is full of character and overlooks a private shared garden. The kitchen is well equipped, and suitable for those who wish to self cater. It is situated in a lovely cobbled square, with boulangeries nearby for delicious French breakfasts. We enjoyed food shopping at the really excellent Sunday morning market just up the road. This is not a noticeably affluent area of Paris, but we felt completely safe walking around. I guess for some people, the distance to the nearest Metro station, a 10 minute walk, (15 mins with young children), might be a disadvantage, but we did not find it a problem, and there are bus stops that are nearer. Overall, our family group thoroughly enjoyed our stay (age range from 6 to 78!) and we all agreed we would book with Stephanie again if we returned to Paris for another trip.
Stephanie went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our time in her home. The place is fantastic in a nice quiet neighborhood. There are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets and bakeries within walking distance. The location is great for getting into the center of Paris and also for getting to Disneyland with Metro stations within a 10 min walk (with young kids). We had a great time at the house and would definitely stay there again the next time in Paris if available.
Maison chaleureuse très sympas tout comme l’hôte. Nous avons passé un très bon week-end entre amis, merci !
