Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
A charmed home on a sloping hillside populated by hummingbirds and bunnies and surrounded by the split rail fences of a former horse farm. The cottage features an enormous wrap-around porch and a crystal clear pond. The ski slopes of Plattekill are visible from the living room. Between the home and the pond lies a cedar hot tub, heated year round. The house fronts the official NY State snowmobiling trail S71 for added winter fun and is your private hiking trail in the summer.

The space
Usually not available in summer's as it's the 'grooms' house for Stone Tavern Farms, Five Springs Cottage opened up recently as Stone Tavern Farms went dark. Tucked below the end of the perfect upstate mountain road and engulfed in a sea of dense trees lies the house. You'll be surrounded by the split rail fences and 19th century stone walls of Stone Tavern Farms. It's uniquely beautiful every direction you look. There is a gorgeous fresh water pond with water a clear as a swimming pool and an old fashioned swim platform anchored in the middle. Clearly no life guard, so any swimming is at your own risk. The main house is what I rent which has a fully equipped kitchen, with dish washer and laundry machines. A wood burning stove will keep you warm. High speed Wifi and a flat screen Smart TV and Apple TV with Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. This pocket of the Catskills fortunately has cell service (which often is not the case). The house is perfectly situated between Margareteville and Roxbury and both towns have a number of restaurants and stores.

Guest access
You will have the full run of the private house/deck/hot tub and yard. I have two acres and the pond is shared with one other house with approx 2/3 of it on my property with the small pier.

Other things to note
Small pets can be considered at $25/day per pet add on.

Early check-in is sometimes possible.

Hot tub has had a small leak, and after multiple attempts to fix, I finally gave up. I'll replace the entire liner next year, so for now you may need to add a few inches of water in the tub each day with the adjacent hose if you plan on using it.

I'm NYC based location scout for film, television and advertising, and a published street photographer. I split my time between my Brooklyn apartment and the Catskills, with the upstate beauty starting to capture more of my attention. I have a 2nd barn chalet loft on property, so sometimes I am right there for any questions.
