Beautiful, Spacious and Safe North Georgetown apartment with stunning panoramic views of DC
Welcome to my beautiful top floor luxury one bedroom apartment. The perfect home away from home for individuals, families, couples and even small groups visiting DC and in need an affordable alternative to expensive hotels.
The apartment is 800 sq. feet, has separate bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom all recently renovated. The feature amenity is the huge balcony with patio furniture and small bbq grill overlooking the DC skyline. We are on the top floor in DC's highest elevated neighborhoods which means breathtaking panoramic views of many of DC's best neighborhoods and sights including the nations Capitol, Washington Monument, Georgetown Waterfront, Potomac River and across the bridges into Virginia Skyscrapers. The picture included does not do justice to the view, it is absolutely unbelievable.
There is a queen size bed in the master bedroom, a full size futon, (email hidden) Mattress operated by electric pump.
Street parking - with residential permits included for the duration of the rental or designated parking in the building lot available for $15 per day payable in cash on arrival.
We are located in North Georgetown in a high-end neighborhood called Glover Park which which is also the west end of embassy row. This beautiful, very safe neighborhood is rich with parks, biking/hiking trails, shopping, nightlife and tourist destinations. From here you can walk to the National Cathedral (5 min), Georgetown (20 min), the National Zoo (20 min), 10+ embassies, Whole Foods/CVS/Starbucks, restaurants and night life (5 minutes). There are Major bus lines on Wisconsin Avenue and Massachusetts Avenue directly in front of the building entrance and the Woodley Park Metro station is a beautiful 20 min walk. Taxi cabs from this location to anywhere downtown DC are around $10-$15.
As travelers ourselves, we understand the importance of maximizing time spent in new places in order to have a truly memorable experience. When you arrive at our place, it will be clean with fresh towels and sheets, some snacks in the fridge, bottled water, a six pack of beer and bottle of wine. In most cases we will be within a few blocks, and encourage our guests to ask us for local suggestions and tips on anything from nightlife to museums, or whatever else you might be interested in.
Cheers, and happy traveling!

Chris and Maria were amazing hosts. The apartment was impeccable, spotless and cozy. It has everything you need and more. Also the view is outstanding. There's a Wholefoods a few blocks away and there's public transportation right outside the door. They were always prompt and responsive. We highly recommend staying with them!!
We spent a very nice days at Chris apartment.Everything was ok.We recomended.
Excellent! Exactly what we expected and hoped for. Beautiful views of the entire city and an ideal location.
This was our second time staying at Chris & Maria's lovely DC condo. We got to meet them this time and they are incredibly friendly and really fabulous hosts. We highly recommend their place -- the view of the DC skyline is beautiful, the condo is pretty & well appointed, the bed is comfortable, the location is great -- and recommend them as hosts.
Chris and Maria have a really nice apartment in a wonderful neighborhood. Just steps to the Nationa Cathedral, and close to everything on Wisconsin and Connecticut Avenues. We had a wonderful time!
The apartment is very comfortable and well appointed for a couple or for a couple ot have a wonderful stay!
Location was excellent, just a mile or 2 above Georgetown and a quick drive to the Capital. Apt was very clean and furnished for comfort. Parking was easier than i anticipated, and getting into apt building was a snap. Chris is a great host.
I stayed in Chris and Maria’s apartment with my parents and my brother for 2 weeks. We were there during the Sandy Hurricane, so we spend a lot of time in the apartment during these days ! The apartment was very clean, bright and big enough for 4 persons. The neighborhood is very safe, and there are some restaurants and grocery store around. The only small drawback is that it is quite far away from the metro station, but you can very easily take a cab from the apartment so that’s not really a problem!
Maria and Chris are awesome hosts ! They were very flexible, it was very easy to communicate with Chris, and they asked several time during the two weeks if every thing was okay. They were very helpful !
So I highly recommend you this apartment and it great hosts !
My stay at Chris' place was awesome. The convenience of the apartment to getting around the city is amazing. You get a great view of the city from the balcony and parking is very easy in this part of D.C. as well. The best part is that the neighborhood is very quiet and less hectic unlike being closer to downtown. Chris was very easy to communicate with and is very hospitable. If you're looking for a great affordable place to stay, this would be it.
Terrific location. Chris and Maria very welcoming. We had a great time. Would certainly recommend. Within walking distance to Georgetown and the National Cathedral.
Chris cleaned the apt himself before we arrived. Overall we were pleased with the apt when we checked in. Except I did have to wipe the glass dining table when we sat down to eat, and to clean the wine glasses because there was water deposits inside. We had overflown toilet when we first flushed the toilet. Apparently he dropped cleaning paper towels in the toilet (accidentally). Luckily my husband knows how to stop a running toilet. The bathroom floor and rugs got a little wet, but because it was mostly clean water, we just cleaned it up and dried everything up on the porch. I wasn't going to bother the host since these were such small issues, and we were able to fix it with little efforts and move on. We did enjoy the wine, beer was the kind that I never heard of, so we only tried one. There were some leftover food in the fridge, but no snacks. The view from the porch was good. Parents, however, should be aware of the space between some banisters, a small child can definitely go through easily. The reason I am leaving a less favorable review was because of the cleaning deposit. We only stayed for one night. Second morning, we cleaned the whole apt before we checked out. If you read the house rules, you know that the host has specific instructions on what to expect in terms of cleaning. We followed each items exactly, such as remove the linens, take trash out and replace the garbage bags, vacuum the entire floor, etc. I folded all the blankets. I even folded the dirty towels (including two that were in the closet prior we arrived) and sheets, and neatly lay them on the bathroom floor since there wasn't a laundry basket. 5 hours later after we left, Christ sent me a text message, saying that his cleaner said that the apt was dirty, not dusted or vacuumed, there was crumbs on the floor, and a hair in the bathtub, therefore the $75 cleaning deposit will be taken out! I was very upset because we put a lot efforts (followed every single rules and did even more) to clean and restore the apt to the original condition. And we were there only for one night, how much dirt or dust we can bring? After talking to him over the phone, he dismissed his cleaner and went to the apt himself and took care of those little crumbs or hair. He asked for half amount of the deposit for his efforts of cleaning, that was $38. I agreed it because I didn't want to keep arguing any more. But honestly, I think it would take no more than 5min to take care of those overlooked little things, and that should be the host's responsibility anyway. Not mentioning that I felt naive, clearly not everybody is forgiving as we are. So, be careful with the cleaning deposit, watch out for crumbs, dust or...
Thank you for your stay, Yanli! I hope that you had an excellent visit to DC and enjoyed our apartment despite of our discrepancy. We welcome you and your family back anytime. For future guests: Yanli is correct, we have the apartment thoroughly cleaned prior to guest arrivals. We do this out of respect and also because we also use Aitbnb when traveling and appreciate when the same courtesies we offer are bestowed on us. I highly doubt wiping the table was required, we use a mixture of peroxide and water for all glass (tip to all, excellent for glass) and I apologize for the toilet, this was an unfortunate hassle for Yanli and was due to my rigorous scrubbing of tubs and toilets prior her arrival in conjunction with my ADD in which ultimately I forgot to flush the offending paper towels. Regarding the balcony, The railing is 8 inches between as is standard per DC construction permitting. Regarding the cleaning deposit, we make it optional to all of our guests. The budget conscious guests have the option of saving $75 by cleaning the apartment themselves, hence saving us $75 we pat to have it cleaned professionally. Unfortunately for Yanli, the apartment was not cleaned according to our manual and was not to the standards I would personally expect as a guest. We did come to a fair compromise of splitting the deposit which required me to take my 2nd 1/2 of the day off of work to mitigate the cost of having the cleaner come back to the apartment in order to properly prepare for the next guest and me doing it instead. I did this out of kindness and understanding and expected for Yanli's review t be grateful instead of "less than favorable". Anyway, thank you for staying with us and we welcome you back anytime!
