  • Clean, comfortable, affordable, and centrally located. A great Sonoma option. We would certainly stay again.

  • Marilyn was awesome! There was some confusion over the dates that another couple was coming in and it ended up that my room was going to be occupied. She called me promptly after figuring this out and put me up at a local (and lovely) inn. It was a great weekend!

  • Enjoyed my stay last weekend! The house is beautiful and in a PERFECT location. Walking to the plaza was easy. From the house you can easily walk to restaurants, shops and tasting rooms. The room was comfortable and private. I felt very much at home. Inside the room you have your own sink so it made trips to the shared bathroom minimal. It was a lovely stay & I would stay here again!

  • Historical house near the square. To stay there is little bit like a trip to the past. We had the impression that there didn't change to much during the recent years. Marilyn's son was very helpful with everything we needed. Breakfast with croissants and fruits was served. We cannot recommend the two rooms in front of the house because the four line street is quite noisy - at least for us. All in all we enjoyed to stay there.

  • The house was very nice and clean. When we arrived Marilyn's son let us move to room 3 which had a private bath so we wouldn't have to share with the other couple, which unbeknownst to us were going to my nieces wedding as well. The location was easy walking distance to town square and about 10 minutes to Ramekins where the wedding was. Nice fresh fruit salad and croissants in the morning for breakfast. Definitely the most reasonable rates around the square.

  • We booked the room the day of, and as it was last minute we just showed up hoping our request went through, and it all worked out! The house is very cute and central to Sonoma town.

  • The place is as described. Very convenient location, a few minute walk to Sonoma main plaza. I stayed in the Room 1 vs Room 2 which I booked, but I had a choice as there was no reservation. Nothing too fancy, but nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast was fruit and a croissant along with coffee and tea. I do have to mention that I inquire about the internet as I needed to work, and I was told that it is reliable, but it was pretty much non-existent. Their wi-fi would show intermittently. Marilyn did get back to me after I asked her son who is on premises about the problem, and explained that it is been a pretty recent issue and calling the cable company didn’t help, but it didn’t solve the problem. Luckily the next door bar/pub has an open wi-fi and I was able to use theirs and do my work. Traffic and the next door Hopmonk bar didn’t bother me and I enjoyed my stay.

  • My stay here was wonderful! Marilyn was very helpful, available, and communicative. The room and common areas were comfortable and very clean. It is exactly what you can expect from the pictures. The breakfast was simple and lovely. I loved the fresh fruit salad. There was complimentary cake and wine in the evenings and a lovely fireplace to sit near and read. The location was perfect, although the people walking by could be noisy at times in the evening since it's right next door to a brewery. It was within a couple blocks walking distance from the square. I will definitely stay here again.

  • Our room was just as cute as in the photo. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much and enjoyed meeting Marilyn in the morning. She very interesting, telling us about the history of the house and the area. After a yummy continental breakfast we walked to the square...Great Location!

  • The room came as advertised, clean and welcoming. Unfortunately, we booked 2 rooms and there had been an issue with the host setting reservations and there was only 1 available. She tried to help us get a backup room but there wasn't enough time for us to travel elsewhere so she ended up leaving extra blankets and pillows for a makeshift bed on the floor. The shared bathroom is a little inconvenient but there were some snacks and drinks available in the living room.

About
My name is Marilyn . I am an elderly but "with it" lady with 4 grown children who live close by me. My interests have mostly to do with my rental "home" such as gardening and crocheting. In my relaxing times I enjoy reading. Tried to get interested in the compurter or internet but am not that "with it" A lot of the enjoying times are meeting all the guests that have stayed with me throughout the 20 years I have been taking care of the property. In the early days when my family and I first moved here, we owned the restaurant that is next door. We no longer own it but it is still a very good restaurant. Thats one of the great things to do in Sonoma, Try all the great restaurants. In the "Rose Garden Inn" you can walk to all the restaurants and not worry about the wonderful wine you drank and then driving home. Idon't live on the property but my son does, If I'm not able to be there to greet the guests then he is there. I enjoy the quietness of the house . You can't believe it is on the highway because there so little noise. I can sit on the porch and read and not be bothered by the traffic.
