130, awata is here to share and create an experience for you, which is in sync with local landscape & culture. It's a space designed to 'do nothing'. The stay and food is crafted for an off-grid location in order to explore, connect with nature, unlearn & rejuvenate.
We would sincerely request you to take time out and read about us in the space below and our website for we wish to create a rejuvenating experience for you.

The space
130, awata is an off-grid art residency and a farm stay located deep in the tribal belt of North-East Maharashtra, at the back waters of upper lake Vaitarna.

~ TRAVEL ~
There are various routes from Mumbai & Nasik, which takes approx. 4 hours and 1.5 hours respectively. The interior meandering roads through the tribal belts are scenic, safe and well kept.

~ COTTAGE ~
The 'Twin Red Brick Cottage' which you are seeing is similar to the 'Twin Yellow Stone Cottage', apart from them we have our cafeteria, studio space, workshop & our house on the premises.
The twin cottage is a comfortable & spacious space for 4 adults/family. On a higher side it can accommodate 8 guests. Each section of the cottage has an attic, a living room, a changing space, a washroom, sit our area and a separate entrance. Each has a queen bed on the attic. If there are additional members we can make a comfortable arrangement in the living rooms for an additional charge per person.
The two sections are also connected by a lockable door.

Our place being off-grid, we would love to cook for you. We can serve freshly cooked vegetarian meals at an additional charge depending on your liking. We can set-up barbecue for special arrangements for a small celebration. We would need you to share your availability & likings 48 hour prior to your visit.

Located by the lake and surrounded by hills weather is an integral part of experience.
Winters (Nov, Dec, Jan & Feb) is the best time ranging from cool to cold with a morning mist.

Summers (March, April & May ) so are hot afternoons but pleasant and cool evenings with brown landscape.
Mosoon (June, July & Aug) no doubt is at its best with heavy rainfall and lush green landscape.

We would be happy to take this conversation forward to know about you and share about us in order to plan for a memorable experience for you.

Guest access
~ Feel free to access our kitchen for special needs.
~ Get your hands dirty while farming with us.
~ Visit our nearby hamlets to oversee our social endeavours.
~ Hike around hills, relax by the lake, read through library, watch a film in an open theatre, sit out with a barbecue, gaze through the stars & experience the shades of grey during full moon.

Other things to note
Dear Friends,
We sincerely wish that your stay at 130, Awata should not only be comfortable but also rejuvenating. Hence we request you to go through the document.

130, Awata isn’t a resort. It’s our home and farm with cottages designed for you to experience comfort which is in sync with the surrounding landscape. We are a small family, who is in the process of building an institution which would act as a platform for interaction and integration, specially for the local tribal community. Through art residency and farm stay we bridge rural and urban communities to create a platform for innovative possibilities.
Farm stay and our studio supports our social endeavor done through Shunya Jagran.
We look forward to have you as part of our family.

Being an off-grid place we are 35 kms or an hours drive away from any eatery. We would love to cook for you. We usually serve freshly made vegetarian meals, unless it's a group who really enjoys meat. We are in the process of setting up our kitchen garden and also experiment with bakery and vegan diet.

Breakfast, lunch, high tea & dinner: 1150/- per person per day.
( Breakfast usually is poha/upma/misal, cerals, tea/coffe, lunch is rice/nagli roti, sabji, dal, white/red rice, salad & sweet. Dinner we keep it a surprise ;) Sometime its Biryani handi, pizzas or south east asian). Please respect meal timings.

Barbeque
We can setup barbecue for you on coal or electric. A set contains marginated 1 kg chicken, paneer & veggies which you can spend time grilling. The setup is good to serve 4 guests. Charges: 1100/-

We need 48 hours notice prior to your arrival to make the arrangements along with your dietary requirements and likings.

I M P O R T A N T
130, awata has the ambience to rejuvenate, unlearn and explore.
. We officially do not permit the consumption of hard alcohol at the cafeteria or open spaces, though we are in the process of getting a license for wine.
. Our crew and local community is our family. They are here to make your stay a beautiful experience and not to serve you.
. We are perfectly fine if you want to get your pets along. As long as they do not damage the furniture and beds. We can help you make arrangements for them.
. We are not sure if the place would be fun for kids, unless you want them to experience what living in raw nature would be like.
. Elderly members of the family would have some difficulties walking around the rough terrain.
. Living in nature includes witnessing the life of insects and reptiles, specially during monsoon. We are always there to guide them away from you.
. We do not promote loud noise or late night parties. For sure you can sit up whole night gazing at the stars and enjoy a laugh with your beloved ones.
. The place is meant for your rejuvenation and relaxation. But it can only work if it is not purely self centered.
