This is a super cozy apartment right in downtown Palo Alto--one block from the Apple store on University Avenue with small kitchen/dining area, living room, separate bedroom and bathroom with shower.
This is a super cozy apartment right in downtown Palo Alto--one block from the Apple store on University Avenue. There is wireless internet and tv with roku box so you can stream tv and movies (netflix, hulu, etc. (no regular tv channels). The bedroom has a comfortable full size bed. The bathroom is small but has the basics like shower and sink. There is also a small kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, etc. There is no laundry onsite, but there is a laundromat across the street that also offers wash and fold service. We just added a small window air conditioning unit that will help with the summer heat. Parking is included and in the lot behind the house! If you don't mind renting an older and smaller unit, you can't beat the location as you are a block away from University Avenue in downtown Palo Alto.
You are welcome to use anything in the house. There's also a nice area in the backyard that you can share with other tenants in the building.
Interaction with Guests
I likely won't be able to meet you in person, but I'm always happy to answer questions via phone, text, and email.
Downtown Palo Alto is a really fun and vibrant area. It's also walking and biking distance to various parts of Stanford University, so you should definitely visit the campus if you have some time during your stay.
Cabs to/from SFO are pretty expensive to Palo Alto. I would say the cost is around $90. You typically won't save any money by calling a cab versus taking one from the airport. I usually like to take BART to CalTrain. My apartment is about a ten minute walk from the Palo Alto CalTrain station. The cost is about $10, but it will take you an hour versus 30 minutes.
Another option people use is SuperShuttle.
If you are renting a car, there is one reserved parking spot included in your rental price.
Palo Alto is very bike friendly! A previous tenant really liked the bike shop on Stanford Campus, but there are many places that rent bikes to visitors. AirBnB obscures website addresses, but you should be able to find it by doing a web search.
Other Things to Note
This unit is in a converted historic home in downtown Palo Alto. This means it's an older unit with lots of charm, but it doesn't have all the amenities that a more modern building can offer. If you're optimizing for being in a location where you can walk to a ton of restaurants and cafes and don't mind the occasional street noise from people visiting downtown Palo Alto or being in a smaller space, I think you'll be very happy here!
This unit is in a large old house with other tenants. Please keep noise to a minimum and be courteous to the neighbors. Smoking is not allowed in the apartment and in the main house (this includes the backyard and porch areas).
As long as you treat my home as your own, all will be well. :)
