Come stay at the historic Phillips-Johnson House, a local historic landmark, located in the Old West End neighborhood of Muncie's Downtown. This home went through a complete interior remodel / exterior facelift in 2019 and offers modern accommodations paired with historic charm. The heart of downtown is just a 5 minute walk away. The property features 3 units and you have the entire unit #2 to yourself. This property also conveniently features a large onsite parking lot for easy arrival.

The space
You have the entire unit to yourself and this includes a living room with kitchenette, bedroom, and large bathroom/ walk in closet with laundry. This space has recently refinished original plank flooring, a beautiful decorative fireplace with cast iron mantle, fresh paint, and a mixture of new furniture and refurbished vintage pieces. We've tried to think of everything you may need to have a comfortable stay. The kitchenette has a convection toaster oven, microwave, hot plate, Keurig, mini fridge, a skillet, a small pot, basic spices, and basic cooking utensils. The bathroom is stocked with fresh white towels, hair dryer, shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash. The space is accessed via a common hallway and is secured with an electronic keypad deadbolt and interior access only deadbolt. Cleanliness is our top priority and all mattresses/ pillows are sealed in hypoallergenic covers. All linens (throws, blankets, comforters, sheets, towels) are laundered after every stay. We also provide a white noise machine and box fan for any light sleepers that may need to block out the potential street noise. This property was fully remodeled in 2021 and refreshed with all new linens in December of 2024. Our goal is to be your home away from home.

Neighborhood highlights

The Old West End is an eclectic urban neighborhood with a mix of owner occupant homes and rentals. The neighborhood is undergoing a bit of a revitalization and we are happy to be a part of that with the renovation of the Phillips-Johnson house. The house is located on Jackson Street (State Road 32) which is the main east bound road that goes through the heart of downtown. There is some street noise from cars and people, and like anywhere in Muncie you occasionally will hear a train. It is an easy 4.5 block walk to the downtown shops and restaurants with sidewalks on both sides of the street. One of Muncie's urban parks, Canan Commons, is a 14 minute walk straight east on Jackson and south on Walnut through the beautiful downtown and features lots of outdoor events throughout the year. We are 8 minutes from Ball State University, 35 minutes to Taylor University, and 26 minutes to Anderson University. We love the Old West End and Downtown Muncie and hope you will too!
