About This Listing
Plumfield Stable is a family homestead that is located on 230-acres of beautiful, rolling farmland located within the Eurkea Maple Woods of Wisconsin's Driftless Region. It is an active horse farm with both indoor and outdoor arenas. Supervised, in season trail rides are available on our homestead for an affordable fee for our guests. While you're here, you will enjoy the beauty of the hills and valleys as you view the immediate area from our ridgetop location and the quiet setting on a dead-end road. In addition to the breathtaking night sky and its incomprable display of stars, we often have an unobstructed view of sunrises and sunsets.
You'll see our Amish neighbors farming their land or heading to town in their buggies. You are also likely to see deer and wild turkeys in the fields.
Family Friendly? For the interest of children, there is a neat playhouse, as well as a 3-level tree house to explore. In the spring and summer, the children can also enjoy the baby ducks, baby goats, and baby rabbits. There might also be St. Bernard puppies and adorable kittens to play with! For the toddlers, there is an enclosed play area with a sandbox and swings.

Ron and Carole were gracious hosts and made us feel right at home! The horseback riding experience was phenomenal. I would suggest this loft to anyone looking for a relaxing and quiet weekend away!
The Felten's were fabulous hosts. They made my wife and I feel welcomed and comfortable on their beautiful property. The accommodations were exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. Our dog certainly enjoyed our hikes through the open fields and wooded ravines. It was breathtaking in the winter, I would imagine even more so in the summer and fall. We would stay here again!
There aren't enough great things to say about this place. We were warmly welcomed by Ron even thought we came so late in the night. Everything was perfect, the place was decorated in a cute western theme and very clean. The property itself is beautiful and scenic. There was a hockey rink, a tree house, horses and you don't have to leave the property to enjoy your get away. Our dogs got to join us and we all interacted with the horse, which was a first for all of us. Can't wait to come back. Thank you for being so kind to us.
Beautiful property with great hosts. The view from the guest house was picturesque. We loved our walks with our dogs on the property. It's beautiful country up on the ridge within a short drive to LaCrosse and many very quaint small towns. We'll probably be back in the warmer months so we can ride the horses.
Very lovely property and welcoming hosts! We enjoyed our stay tremendously! The apartment was clean and cozy. We appreciated the breakfast foods that were provided for us.
About the Host, Carol
My husband, Ron, and I are in our 70's and we have shared 49 meaningful years of marriage together. In 1972, we purchased a 120 acres of farmland and moved here from Wausau, WI. Later we purchased another adjacent 120 acres of farmland. Our farm has been home to an unusually large family of biological and adopted children, all of whom are now grown. Our farm remains family-friendly. Our family has been supported by my husband's CPA practice which he operates out of our home.
The property with its hills and valleys is indescribably beautiful during all seasons of the year. The surrounding area, home to many Amish families, is quiet and offers a variety of activities for vacationers.
