Margaret River is a town in the South West of Western Australia, located in the valley of the eponymous Margaret River, 277 kilometres (172 mi) south of Perth. The surrounding area is the Margaret River Wine Region and has become known for its wine production and tourism, attracting an estimated 5(phone number hidden)sitors annually. Several hundred caves are located near Margaret River, all of them within Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. Six of these are open to the public. The most famous of these is the multi-chambered Mammoth Cave, which lies 21 kilometres south of the town and contains fossils dating back over 35,000 years. The Margaret River area has acquired a range of synonyms for the collection of surf breaks nearby. Usually significant surfing competitions concentrate their locale to Margarets Main Break (aka Surfers Point) which breaks in the vicinity of Prevelly at the mouth of Margaret River.
Your Antonio Gaudi apartment was named and designed in the footsteps of the famous Spanish architect. Gaudi was inspired by the mud towns in the Sahara Desert in North Africa. He is famous for his unique ceramic tiling and organic shapes. Here in Margaret River Trevor is inspired by Gaudi's forms and has used broken glass from the studio of local Kent le Grand.
In summer and good weather the "White Elephant restaurant" and also "Sea Gardens Restaurant" are a scenic choice for breakfast and lunch overlooking "Gnarabup" swimming beach and the "Main Break' Surfers Point. During winter there are numerous restaurants in the town of Margaret River.
The bush surrounds will surprise you with a variety of bird calls.
Winery tours are available directly over the road at Llewellin's Guest House (website hidden) by appointment. [$150 per person , minimum 2 persons].

We really enjoyed our time down south at Kate and Trevor's Gaudi inspired apartment. It was small, quirky, quiet and just perfect for our weekend away. It was in a great location, only a couple of kilometres from Margaret River centre, and I would recommend others to take their bike, much easier to get in to town this way! The bread, fresh eggs and condiments were a real treat, the fresh butter was the creamiest I have ever tasted! Take a book, open some wine and sleep well. Enjoy!
Kate and Trevor were wonderful hosts and their cottage was perfect for our stay. It's situated about equidistant from the beach and Margaret River town and in the hub of all the best wineries in the region. We had many visitors throughout our stay - parrots, finches, kangaroos and a rather enquisitive peacock.
The cottage was cute and comfortable and Kate had stocked it with a bunch of breakfast food including lovely fresh eggs.
Kate was very easy to reach at any time and when my mum accidentally left her earring behind Kate mailed it back to us. Thanks again Kate!
Funky place. And it provides all you need for a comfortable stay in complete bushy wilderness. Considering how expensive the accommodation is in margeret river, good value. And great location
My husband and I loved our stay. Totally private with everything you need to have a relaxing holiday. A very quiet location away from the tourists and hussle and bussle, but close enough to whip into town for a Latte or to the beach for a surf. Kate and Trevor were there if needed and made us feel extremely welcome with a Christmas welcome hamper , beautiful homemade jams , eggs and wine. The bed was comfy the shower hot, and we loved our morning visitor...a young male Peacock who would come in if you let him. Thanks Kate and Trevor...we will be back.
Wonderful unique experience with great attention from Kate. Is an ideal base to explore this region.
So much attention to detail and personal touches added to the enjoyment of our time at Antonio Gaudi. Thanks Kate
Kate's quirky little apartment in the bush out of Margaret River was ideal for our holiday as it is centrally placed to explore the whole region from Cape to Cape. Kate was a wonderful, interesting host and we enjoyed spending time with her and the family. We can highly recommend it.
We had a fantastic few days at this lovely studio apartment set in such a beautiful environment. Trevor and Kate have thought of everything you could need for your stay so it really is a home away from home. The beach is only 5 minutes away for a sunset picnic which became a particular favourite past time. It's location enables very easy exploration of the whole region. We would definitely stay here again during a return visit to Margaret River.
We really enjoyed our 1 month stay at Kates`s and Trevors` nice place.
They are very friendly and welcoming people. The house is very clean and quiet. It is away from big roads far enough to not hear any traffic but only nature sounds like birds and so on. But you are in Margaret River within a few minutes if you want to enjoy shops and cafes. Another big point is that you have your own bathroom and kitchen.
There is also a nice BBQ area you can use.
We highly recommend this place and will come back next year !!!
Thank You Kate and Trevor
