Behind a blue door [now blue/green], and just 18 yards from the famous Travel Bookshop in Notting Hill, this modern one-bedroom apartment is at the epicenter of the trendiest location in London. With a host of great restaurants, bars, boutiques and the world renowned Portobello Market just a few steps away, this chic little home just couldn't be better located.

The restaurant below the apartment was the often-mentioned bar/restaurant in the Bridget Jones’s Diary books, where she met up with her friends to talk about her love life and other things (well, mainly just her love life). Today, it is a great family-run Italian restaurant and, formerly known as just '192' (the original sign is still below the window), it was the popular haunt of media types and many a celeb – not just the British ones, but also Hollywood megastars when they were in town.

At the very hub of the Notting Hill scene, this little block alone boasts six fine restaurants and cafés, the famous 100-year-old and beautifully restored Electric Cinema and Brasserie, the Notting Hill Community Church and several of the area's trendiest clothing boutiques – all accessible without you even having to cross the road! There's also no need to leave the block to catch the brilliant 23 bus which will take you to dozens of London's top tourist attractions – including Paddington Station (with direct access to Heathrow Airport within 15 minutes), Marble Arch, Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, The Strand, Waterloo Bridge, Fleet Street, St Paul's Cathedral, The Bank Of England and Liverpool Street Station (with direct access to Stansted Airport) and close to trendy Brick Lane and Shoreditch. So, no need to take the Tourist Sightseeing Bus – this great regular local service practically has them all on its route for you already. And just a few yards away along the street, further local buses give you direct access to Notting Hill Gate, Kensington High Street, Kensington Palace & Gardens, The Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, Knightsbridge, Harrods, Piccadilly Hard Rock Café, Buckingham Palace and Victoria Station (with direct access to Gatwick Airport).

All those famous landmarks easily reached without even having to venture onto the tube/subway system! But with two underground stations a short walk away – Ladbroke Grove five minutes (Zone 2) and Notting Hill Gate eight minutes (Zone 1) the whole of the capital is within easy reach. Without having to change trains from either station, the former is just 17 minutes to St Pancras International Station with direct access to Paris and Brussels (just over two hours away), and the latter a mere 8 minutes away from Oxford Circus. This apartment just couldn't be better located for everything this great city has to offer!

Whether you're staying for a long weekend, on vacation or on business, this apartment is a fully-fitted home from home and has a quiet working/study area in the bedroom at the rear of the property which includes a pine desk and laser printer and, of course, a WiFi internet connection is freely available. The kitchen is fully-fitted with a Smeg dual-halogen hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric fan-assisted oven and washer/dryer. There is gas central heating and hot water.

Please note, the rates shown are for TWO ADULTS ONLY - children under the age of 18 are FREE but additional adults (a maximum of 2) are charged at the additional rate of £50 PER NIGHT EACH (approx $80 or €60 extra per night per person). If you have two children travelling with you, just put down the number of adults (ie, 1 or 2) so that you don't get charged any extra via the system. If you DO turn up with more than two adults in your party which was not indicated at the time of booking then you may be refused access and would therefore forfeit a 5-day booking fee according to the Airbnb Terms & Conditions. Finally, there is also a cleaning fee of £50 (approx $80 or €60) added to the overall bill to cover the cleaning and laundry fee irrespective of the number of days booked.

  • I just spent a wonderful nine Spring filled days in Notting Hill in this lovely apartment. Lee was a wonderful host and is a very accommodating and generous person. I arrived incredibly early and Lee was up and at the apartment ready to greet me not too long after 5am!

    If you're a wanderer like I am, the location is fabulous - surrounded by restaurants, cafes and the obvious many market stalls of Portobello Rd literally steps from the apartment door. If walking is not your thing, there is a bus stop thirty metres away to take you directly up the road to Notting Hill Gate tube - which is on the Central Line and will have you in centrally in no time at all! If you like proper, strong coffee - head up Portobello Rd to 'Talkhouse' (shh, it's a secret).

    The apartment is tastefully furnished, beautifully warm and a very comfortable place to stay, both short or long term. I look forward to being back one day soon and I highly recommend Lee and Haydn as solid, informative and trustworthy hosts.

  • I stayed in Lee & Haydn's apartment for 5 days (in February). The location is unbeatable - for wandering about Notting Hill, visiting the famous Portobello Market or going to the local shops, restaurants and cafes. The subway and bus stop close at hand gives you quick access to the rest of London.
    The apartment is fresh and comfortable and again the location is just perfect.
    Lee was a great host - easy communication for arrangements - and very welcoming.
    We'd definitely stay here again!

  • I stayed at Lee & Haydn's apartment for 3 weeks for a work trip. First of all, the hosts were very welcoming, flexible and quick to respond to all my questions. You can't beat the location. It's in the heart of the very hip, artsy and lively Notting Hill neighborhood. The famous Portobello market Rd is a block away. Conveniently located close to (and above one) great restaurants, grocery stores and other shops. It is about a 10 min walk to both Notting Hill Gate & Ladbroke Grove tube stations. The apartment and kitchen are well equipped with all the basic necessities - utensils, refrigerator, washer/dryer, dish washer etc. There are just 2 improvements I would recommend to Lee & Haydn:
    1. Adding a microwave to the kitchen would make it very convenient especially if you want to warm up leftovers.
    2. The wifi connection was a bit week and kept requiring me to log in several times a day. It seemed stable when I was (email hidden) live cast or watching 40 min long videos. But disconnected at the slightest sign of inactivity (such as when you're doing emails). This was a bit problematic for me as I was working from home extensively. But if you're here for a short stay and just looking to browse occasionally, this should not be a problem.

    All in all, my stay here was wonderful. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and would love to stay here again when visiting London.

  • This compact one-bedroom apartment is what it promises to be: well located, clean and nicely decorated. There are some excellent bars and restaurants seconds away and the gorgeous boutiques and café's on Westbourne Grove are within walking distance. We had an extremely comfortable stay and even on a cold London night the apartment was warm and toasty. Definitely recommend and would stay again with no hesitation.

  • This flat is gem! The BEST location. Loads of cafes, pubs, shops. Portobello rd around the corner. Transport virtually on doorstep. Lee and Hayden a pleasure to deal with. The flat was spotlessly clean, bathroom was great - fabulous hot shower and bath! We loved it, would definitley return and highly recommend to all. Thanks Lee and Hayden!

  • The space was absolutely wonderful - just the right size for a 9 day work stay and fantastically situated between the Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill tube stops. The area had easy access to transportation options, great (email hidden)ly market, and great coffee all within a few steps of leaving the flat. All in all, I'd definitely stay here again!

  • It's true....this unit is all you can ask for and more. The flat is in a perfect location, just around the corner from Portebello Road on beautiful Kensington Park Road giving you loads of excellent options for shopping, eating and people watching. Try the excellent Luna Rosa (downstairs) for food and Montgomery Place for a cocktail (across the street). The unit itself was well appointed and had everything we needed for our stay. Our host met us at the perfect time, showed us the flat, answered a few questions and then let us begin our fantastic stay. Highly recommended.

  • My stay at Lee and Haydn's apartment was great despite the miserable London weather. The apartment is so close to everything and I found it very easy to get around. It is also a very safe neighbourhood and I always felt comfortable no matter what time I was coming home.

    It has everything you need for a stay in London - the washing machine and airer were particularly handy in the time I was there.

    My relatives in the UK were most impressed at my find as they had not heard of Airbnb.

    I was lucky that Lee was in the apartment when I arrived so was able to drop of my case and have a very welcome cup of tea after a long flight. Lee also gave me tips about the neighbourhood and restaurants - it was lovely to meet him.
