Our two level sun porch with unbelievable spiral staircase. New TVs and comfortable seating. Perfect for ND football weekends!

Dedicated to Studebaker's Avanti, designed by Raymond Loewy, the original "Mad Man." A beautifully restored house across town from Notre Dame. Directly across from Studebaker Museum. A 10 min walk through historic district to downtown food & drinks.

The space
6 bedrooms: 2 masters with private showers and 4 with half baths and a shared common shower. 6 twin beds, 2 queens, and 1 double sleeps 13 people. We have a pull out couch and can set up a comfy air mattress to make it 15.

A living room, dining room, and kitchen creates a great space for entertaining small events. Large backyard for cookouts and private parking around back.

Renting multiple rooms instead of the entire house is also an option, but these details need to be negotiated by Airbnb message with the house manager.

Guest access
Guests share a common living room, dining room and a well-equipped kitchen (electric skillet, countertop convection oven, microwave). The living room includes a flat panel TV with basic channels.

Other things to note
We are located 2.8 miles from Notre Dame, a five minute walk to a gym/pool, and a 10 minute walk to SB Cubs minor league baseball stadium. There is also a laundromat and discount grocery across the street.

Location

South Bend, Indiana, United States

The Museum District / West Washington neighborhood is a racially diverse, historic neighborhood. Some South Bend folks remember this area as the 'bad part' of town, and years ago that was probably the case.

However, the City of South Bend has been systematically restoring its neighborhoods, and a special focus has been put on the Museum District because of its heritage and the fairly recent relocation of the Studebaker National Museum to its heart.

Like much of South Bend, some areas in our neighborhood still badly need restoration, but other parts--like Washington and Colfax--are idyllic for walks, lined with gorgeous homes. The streets can be a little dark at night but generally safe if you take care.

Also like most areas, the occasional crime of opportunity does happen, so stowing valuables where they can't be seen is just good sense. For your added safety and security, we have video cameras trained outside the home and in common areas inside as well.

We're right across the street from the nationally acclaimed Studebaker Museum and The History Museum, located in the Oliver Mansion, a 38-room Victorian house where the J.D. Oliver family once lived.

We highly recommend strolling downtown via Washington (past the K. C. DeRhodes House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and Tippecanoe Place, Clem Studebaker's historic mansion and restaurant) and walking back Colfax, past the home of Schuyler Colfax (Vice President under Grant). Also down Washington is the Notre Dame Center for Arts and Culture and IUSB's Civil Rights Heritage Center.
