  • We liked Bali suites, the rooms are tremendous, very clean and the hotel (because that is what it is) is well located for beach use. Breakfast is also very good. The low point is this: there is a a management problem I think for lqck of client attention. I did not receive any maps or indications to reach the place and it is not advertised at all. There was no door for the bathroom as it was under renovcations at what seems to be a very slow pace...there was no washing machine available although there was supposed to be one. I stayed 5 days and it would have been appreciated. This is more of a surferˋs place, with a very reasonable price. If you are not too picky with details, you will like it.

  • I had a great time on a short weekend getaway at Itamambuca, Ubatuba. Though I did not get to meet Eduardo, Sergio has been very helpful and did his best to make me feel at home.

Location of the guesthouse was perfect for access to Itamambuca beach. If you're looking to visit other beaches, a car is a must.

If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful bed with a a nearby beach, this is the perfect place for you.

  • I came to Ubatuba looking for a quiet place to work by the beach (I'm a writer/consultant) while in Brazil. I got WAY more than I bargained for with Eduardo and Bali. First of all, Eduardo went beyond the call of duty before I even got to the property! It happened when I was put on the wrong bus from Rio and was not anywhere near Ubatuba when I discovered the gaffe.I ended up rerouting to Sao Paulo, where Eduardo was, by his request.

It would have taken me HOURS and at least 3 more buses to backtrack back to Ubatuba. Instead, Eduardo picked me up at Sao Paulo's bus station and drove me to Ubatuba. I know, WOW!

The property is indeed a unique place. Eduardo is definitely putting his heart and soul into it. It shows. The rooms are large and comfortable, with lots of charm. The property is amazing, serene and peaceful! It's a 10 minute walk (and wade-through a river!) to one of the NICEST beaches I have yet to see in Brazil.

Sergio, Eduardo's on-site manager, is the nicest guy you can ever ask for. Always asking how you're doing, throwing out suggestions, making recommendations. Maybe it helped that I was the only guest there for like the first 4 days. :)

There's a small grocery store down the street, I stocked up on staples and essentials for meals, and beverages, and for the next 5 days, I was set!

They have some nice boards for rent, and I even got some surfing in during my stay! OUTSTANDING!

These guys, knowing that I was there to be working/writing, even got me a DESK and office chair so I can work on the huge terrace that my room had! I didn't even ask! It made for my working in this beautiful place to be an even more awesome experience.

The VALUE of this place is not to be dismissed. I spent a few dollars more to stay here in this AWESOME room, with everything I needed for about $10 more a night than I paid for a hostel bed in Buzios! My only regret is not coming here sooner, because Ubatuba is really a great place to discover.

In summary, this is the place to stay in Ubatuba. But here are a couple of tips:

    1. This is one place it pays to have a car. Next time I come, i will have wheels.

    2. Bring good insect repellent, and USE it. This place is literally in a lush jungle. There is nothing that can be done about the bugs here. It's a small price to pay.

I cannot wait to come back. If anything, this just gives me a great excuse to visit Brazil next winter/spring! :)

  • Eduardo is the great person to deal with! Marcos, his brother was an amazing and welcoming host at the amazing house. Large rooms, and cozy dining area are surrounded by real jungles. There are small shops nearby and beautiful beaches. Good pizza place just across the street. We got much more than we expected.
    Will definitely come back!

  • Thanks Marco for your great hospitality and generosity. We really enjoyed our stay. All the best for you and your family. If we come back to Brasil we come and visit again... we already miss the nice and warm surf of Itamamabuca
