Elle is a traditional Romany Bow Top Window and Door style Gypsy Caravan. Built on an original dray with traditional gun carriage wheels. Built for a Romany by a Romany and taken to Appleby Horse Fair by its previous owner three years ago. Sleeps two.
There is an original "Queenie" stove that the gypsies used for heating and cooking. We supply the first fire full of charcoal.
Outside there is a fire pit where you can light a fire, and sit and gaze at the stars.
And watch the sunset over the Lizard Peninsular.
Elle is available for long or short breaks.
Adjacent to the Bow Top wagon is a traditional caravan with further facilities, that include:
A bed for the over six foot traveller
A cooker, fridge, table and seating.
Both wagons have electricity and electric or gas heating.
Bedding and towels are included
Electricity, water and gas are included.
Your first bag of logs included
Not far from the wagon is a shower in a horsebox! The shower is hot and continuos. An experience not to be missed. Seeing is believing!
There is also a composting toilet in a garden shed close by.

Brilliant stay at Elle! Arrived mid evening and received a warm welcome with a guided tour of the facilities.
The wagon was a wonderful experience and very romantic topped off by the log burner.
As promised the stars were breathtaking and luckily we had a dry day so made the most of the local walks and pubs.
Would highly recommend the stay to anyone looking for a retreat from city life.
Expectations we got from the website description were all well met and partially positively exceeded, for example when it comes to how breathtakingly amazing the starry sky is at the farm - devoid of any city light. In addition it was beautifully quiet and private. Sleeping in the wagon was magical, cooking and eating in the neighbouring caravan was comfortable and private (heat sources in both). The stove in the wagon made it most cosy to sleep. Breakfast in front of the caravan in the morning sun, after a refreshing shower in the distant horse-wagon - nice. In total, a very beautiful and special experience.
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed this wonderful setting for a quiet, relaxing weekend. We were welcomed by Jonathan's helpers who were staying in the neighboring cottage. They showed us around the Gypsy Wagon, the caravan which housed a useful fridge and gas hob and the amazing horse box shower - which was an unforgettable experience! Waking up on Saturday morning to see the view across the fields was a great surprise, especially as it was shrouded in fog the night before. We ventured down to Porthallow Cove and into St Keverne on Saturday and BBQ'd our dinner in the evenings which was great for 2 city dwellers like ourselves. Thank you Jonathan and team for the hospitality.
It was such a different experience, we absolutely loved it! There was a storm the night we stayed in the caravan but only made it more interesting. We saw the lightenings from so close and were truly stunned by the beauty of nature. We didn't get a chance to meet Jonathan but people working there were very kind. Oh they won't give you the wifi password even if you ask for it because you are supposed to relax and have fun there..
What a delight to arrive at our destination and see the beautiful caravan perched on a gentle hill. Everything about the stay was like a fairy tale. It looks like the site is still evolving, with young plants poised to grow into a lush jungle, and what looks like another quirky build underway. The horse box shower was a liberating experience, and it'll break down all preconceptions of what a shower should be.
The caravan itself was utterly gorgeous, decked out with fairy lights and lovely materials. If you're 6 foot something then I would recommend going for another of Jonathan's builds, like Jack Sparrow house (which we were lucky enough to take a peek in when we were being shown around) which has a longer bed. For us, at 5'8 and 5'11, we were pretty much at the limit!
We got a pint of Doom Bar and dinner at the Three Tuns in St Keverne, which is a down to earth kind of pub.
Wish we could have stayed longer... I get the impression we'll be back if we get the chance next summer!
I didn't have the chance to meet Jonathan in person but his offering was great and everything went perfectly for myself and my girlfriend. We enjoyed an evening along the coast with a short walk through the countryside and we'd definitely liked to have stayed longer for more exploration. Thank you! :=)
We had a great nights stay in the gypsy caravan. A beautiful view and a very unique experience. The shower unit is great too :-)

I live on the Lizard peninsular, as I find this area one of the most inspirational in the UK. I am an artist/builder who creates spaces of light and beauty. My aim is to welcome you into a dwelling for your pleasure and relaxation. I enjoy using ideas of times passed and endeavor to achieve an ‘other worldliness’ in my work.
I spend my time in constant contemplation of the next project in mind. Other than that you can find me enjoying music and dance, or Cornish coastal walking with my partner and dog.
