Hello visitor or traveler,
We are an official NYC Bed & Breakfast, under the name of "Bridge Seal" B&B! We are one block from Bedford Ave-- ideally located near the iconic Williamsburg Bridge (and the 1st Brooklyn stop on the J/M/Z Metro for easy and direct uptown & downtown Manhattan transit), for those wishing to spend days exploring the city and want an easy ride home :)
The ARTIST LOFT ROOM is best for single travelers, fun couples, and guests who need a place for their computers :) The room is our tucked-away, well-lit Northeast corner guest room in our relaxing, spacious, and welcoming 3 bedroom apartment. It is fully furnished with a lofted Queen size bed. The room also has a work desk, hanging closet, more than enough shelves and storage. I have custom built all the furniture and the loft. By some architectural design, it feels incredibly separated from the rest of the house-- as if you are in your own world.
•We provide your fresh towels and bed sheets.
•Newly installed light & sound blocking window drapery for the light sleepers and people suffering jet-lag.
•A fully stocked and super spacious kitchen!
•Every room has it’s own Air Conditioning and Heat
•An eclectic art collection to inspire you to experience some of the great NY arts scenes!
•Bedroom has secure keyed locks.
•Ground floor bicycle storage
•All the people who live in the building and neighborhood are really supportive and out-going!
•The streets are well-lit.

Breakfast is available for an additional $5 per guest, per day:
It is a continental breakfast (REALLY good coffee, breads, fruit, cereals & milk, anything you need to make a great start to the day). *Please request this in advance so that I can have things ready for you, upon your arrival.
**Early check-ins (before 2pm) and late check-outs (after 12 noon) must be arranged ahead of time and approved on a case by case situation. 95% of the time, it's fine.
Who WE are:
We Started Bridge Seal B&B in April of 2012. We wanted to create an arts-centric destination, by carefully curating our 3 bedroom apartment into a 2 unit Bed & Breakfast. We started slow and by the end of 2012, we have hosted over 300 travelers from all over the world.
Other than being an Bed & Breakfast host, I am a full-time visual artist. I create large-scale, colorful, abstract paintings. To learn more on my wesite, go here: (JsunLaliberte). My paintings seldom get installed at the house because of their size. I am also a 3rd generation ceramic artist. Much of the cups you will drink from have been made by me or my family! In a not-so-distant past, I was also a Sommelier at one of the best and most highly rated "farm-to-table" restaurants in Manhattan. True Hospitality and knowing how to make guests feel welcome are things I know so very well :)
My girlfriend, Kara, is a professional artist as well. Her website can be seen here: (KaraLRooney). Both of us have separate studio practices, so we can keep the mess out...! Kara is also a curator, art critic and an editor, so the art can change from time to time :)
We both do a lot of running, so if you are a runner, we have a lot of great routes for you to explore the city and neighborhoods with. Kara has been a long-time yogi. If you are into yoga, she has a lot of experience with several studios in the neighborhood and Manhattan.
We both have a wealth of overall knowledge of the neighborhood and the city!
And we have a new puppy! :) His name is Lono. He's a Samoyed, so he is very hypoallergenic. I have Asthma, Kara has bad allergies, and he does not affect us at all. He lives in our bedroom or his crate. He has NO access to the guest room!! We do encourage guests to interact and play with him, just please do NOT feed him human food!!
Whether you are traveling partner, a couple on vacation, someone extending a business trip, or someone looking to host your family while they are visiting you-- we get you :)
During your stay, look forward to pleasant chat around the kitchen table. We can always help you find the best shops, the best food, the best art exhibitions, the best walks, the best cocktails, the quickest subway route, and best insider deals around!
We care about with whom we share our home . A good fit makes your stay amazing and our experience as hosts equally rewarding! We always give preference to civilized, pleasant and respectful people. We will not accept inquiries from partiers looking to pound beers at the kitchen table until 4am... We do our fair share of entertaining, but we keep it classy! ;)
More about the neighborhood:
The location is amazingly central to your NYC adventure! Blocks away from the Williamsburg happenings and 5-15 minutes to Manhattan. 10 mins to the Bedford L train. 5 mins to the Marcy J/M/Z train. 4 blocks from the East River Ferry landing. 2 blocks from the Williamsburg Bridge.
Whether by car, train, bike, foot, or boat, you're 10 minutes away from Manhattan!
Williamsburg, 20 years ago, used to be one of the roughest neighborhoods in all of New York. Then pioneering visual/audio/performing/experimental artists moved in and established a fringe community for over 25 years. Now, it’s the most sought-after real estate in all of the 5 boroughs.
Williamsburg is a Foodies Heaven! So many major Manhattan chefs either have or are looking to have an outpost here. There's Diner and Marlow & Sons next door, ISA, Peter Luger, Dressler, Fatty 'Cue, Pies ‘n Thighs, Aurora, & Miss Favela—all within 4 blocks!
Williamsburg is also well known for it's art scene. All the gallery listings can be seen on the WAGMAG website.
Shopping-- If you like to shop…you’re in BIG trouble here! The vintage/designer/hand-made clothing/accessories and furniture scene is probably the most explosive economic sector in the neighborhood! Second only to the fleets of haut-cuisine food trucks that flock to the parks & streets when the sun shines bright!!
If Dancing to the best world-music is your thing, Bembe is one of the BEST places in all of Brooklyn and it's conveniently across the street. (Best Caipirinhas in the city!!)
(This current rate reflects NY sales tax of 8.875% included. We have been hosting successfully and continuously since March of 2012. Having enjoyed our experience as hosts, we have stepped up and have become fully legitimate and registered with the state. We are also fully insured.)
Some Improvements we’ve been making!:
•The owner of D.O.C. Wine Shop, one block away, is a friend of mine and has been so great with our guests choosing the perfect wines to accompany your home-cooked meal or choosing some inexpensive bubbles to pre-game your night on the town ☺ We’re currently working out a discount program to offer our guests a discount on bottles of wine…!
•We are also currently working with Landmark Bicycles (2 Blocks away) to establish a solid discount for our guests to have access to affordable bike rentals during their stay! Currently, they offer their shiny new bikes as rentals for $35/day or $105/week, but we’re working on getting that reduced…!!!! ☺
All together, everyone here is pretty awesome! Every person who's ever stayed here has left with an amazing fondness for 78 South 6th street!
All the best and we hope to meet you soon,
Jsun & Kara
Jsun and Kara are easy going hosts with an awesome taste in art. The bed is tremendously comfortable and the room itself is clean. The apartment is quite centrally located and in a nice neighborhood. All in all a perfect accommodation to stay at in Williamsburg.
Jsun & Kara were the best hosts and we had a great time in NY! Since we really love the neighborhood Williamsburg, the place was perfectly located with a lot of nice places around to eat and drink. We highly recommend having dinner and a movie at The Nighthawk, romantic dinner date at Moto and breakfast (the best bagels!) at New York Muffin. All these places are just around the corner from the apartment. The room was so cute and the bed was very comfy! The sheets were so smooth we wanted to steal them and bring them back home ☺ Hope we meet again Jsun & Kara! Have a great time with your new cute puppy!! Best// E & E
We had a really great experience staying here! Parking was easy and the location was so incredibly convenient to everything and lots of transit. Jsun and Kara have a beautiful home that is very clean and accommodating. Would absolutely stay here again.
We had a great time staying in the cute Loft room. It's a great part of Brooklyn with lots to do all around. Jsun and Kara were wonderful hosts and their apartment is beautiful. We would absolutely stay there again when we're back in NYC!
This space was a great oasis to work and be based for a few days in NYC during a time of busy travels. The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the space worked well, was very warm (I was there in winter), and cozy. Json and Kara were really great, friendly and helpful. I enjoyed being their guest very much. They were approachable but also gave me space to make the space my own as I needed. They were also great sounding boards for all the arts activity we were all out seeing during that week.
The most comfortable bed in the world is here! You just kind of sink into it, and it turns into a cocoon. I actually ended up sleeping for nearly 20 hours on one of the days. Jsun and Kara are wonderful, easy-going, and very helpful hosts. I was visiting New York for the art fairs, Jsun and Kara were kind enough to give me a whole list of gallery/ show/ fair recommendations that made my trip a lot more fun than it would have been. The location of this B&B is great. Very close to popular restaurants, subways, bars, etc. There is a bit of noise to deal with, but nothing out of the ordinary - New York is a late night culture after all.
I visited during the winter/ spring time, and the room stayed consistently cozy during the single digit temperature outside. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit the East :)
Jsun and Kara are great!! The location perfect. And The house clean, warm and The kitchen full equipment to cook. I spent fantastics days at their place!
I absolutely loved staying with Jsun & Kara in their fantastic apartment. They are friendly and warm people who were happy to chat with me and give some great tips on the neighbourhood. It was really well located, being a short walk from the Marcy Avenue subway, and a few blocks away from the best parts of trendy Williamsburg along Bedford Avenue. The room is awesome & very comfortable. If I am back in NYC, I know where to stay! Thanks again.
We had a great stay at Jsuns appartment. Everything was organized very well. Our room was small but cozy and warm and the bed was really comfortable. The location is in a beautiful neighborhood with a lots of restaurants and bars.
Jsun is a really great host and an inspiring person. I really felt relaxed being there, the bed is comfy and the heating does a great job (I had a dreadful cold and had to stay in bed all day so I know what I am writing about). However, bring ear plugs, despite well-insulated windows you can hear the traffic of the bridge.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
