Here you can sleep well. The surrounding is completely silent. In the mornings you may woke up in birds singing. From the airport Helsinki-Vantaa it takes 30 min., to the center of Helsinki you need 45 min.
In the bedroom you can find a good 140 cm large bed. You have your own bathroom with the shower and a tiny sauna, there is also a wasching maschine. The first where you enter is a terracce wiht several windows: there you can find a two separate beds (80 cm and 110 cm Hästens-bed). The third room is my studio with my yarns. In the studio you find a simple little citchen-angle with fridge. The cabin is rather small, for 2-4 persons still it fits well. You can cook there simply things. If you don´t want to cook you have always the possibility to order pizza-taxi, which brings you directly to home pizza or kebab or steak!
Sääksjärvi has a great beach (7 km), beautiful horses you can find at Solsikke in the end of the road (4 km), another horse stable Uotilan talli you can find in another direction (2,4 km). It is possible to ride in both of these places. If you want to swim in a huge center, Serena is for you (20 km), there you can also ski during the winter time. Another ski center is Sveitsin hiihtokeskus (34 km).
Interaction with Guests
The cabin offers you peace: here you can write, read, draw or think, walk in the forest. At the same time you can reach also Helsinki center with all different culture activities. But remember: you will be rather isolated! So think carefully!
If you love fishing, you can do it rather near (7 km). There is a nice rapid with very good paths and fireplaces with wood.
I speak well english and italiano and some german and swedish. Benvenuti - Welcome - Wällkommen - Villkommen!
Other Things to Note
The cabin is comfortable for four persons, but remeber: the main bedroom has the door to the wc-shower-sauna, other guests have to pass the main bedroom while needing the rest room!
Recycling: We like recycling and sustainable living so please recycle your (website hidden) waste, paper/carboard, bottles and cans can be left to kitchen and I will take care of those afterwards. In the case you don´t want to have your bio waste in the citchen for several days, you can empty it also yourself to the green container (near post box).
We stayed at Elina's cabin for a couple of nights. It is a very quiet and cozy place, and still relatively close to Helsinki. Elina had arranged everything for our late arrival and everything was easy and smooth. I would definitively stay at Elina's cabin again!
The very beautiful cabin in cozy neighborhood on the country side. The place is very quiet and calm so if you are looking for a peaceful place I can recommend this place. A very big nice lake in 40 minutes of walking, if you like to do winter`s activities there would be good to do cross-skiing.
All what you can see on the photos 100% corresponded with the reality. Elina was very helpful and kind despite of some mess that I created just before our arrival :) and her cake was really nice and delicious! During the second night of our stay we enjoyed her sauna. The house interior was clean and traditional scandinavian - we liked Elina`s workshop and things she makes.
Lovely warm and friendly atmosphere with such welcoming host/ Shall definitely be returning again. Elina, thanks very much for your hospitality!
Elina was the PERFECT host!
She warned us that winter might not be the best time of the year to come to the cabin and then she helped us to prepare our arrival by checking the buses and picking us at the bus stop.
The cabin is perfectly sized for two people and in winter time surrounded by snow and silent nature it's becoming a real fairytale. The little roads leading to the lakes around the cabin are charming and Elina is so helpful when it comes to giving directions and advices about places and landscapes to see.
The only thing we can say is that after only three days and two nights spent there we highly recommend the cabin!!! Thank you so much Elina! Anne-Clé and Alex
We really enjoyed relaxing in the cozy bungalow Elina. Workshop Elina created creative mood. Yard and house similar to the Finnish Christmas tale. Despite the cold and windy weather in the bungalow was very warm and the sauna was very handy. Thank you for your welcome! Holidays in the countryside - what you need after a busy city. We hope to see each more !!!
Elina was a wonderful host and very accommodating. She was very helpful providing info of how to get to the bus stop near her cabin from Helsinki where she met me. She also showed me one of the local libraries and shared the history and cultural insight of libraries in Finland. It was a very lovely introduction to Finnish culture. Her cabin was just under an hour from Helsinki so easy to get to and a great retreat in the peace and quiet. It was lovely and quaint, will definitely recommend to anyone who wants this kind of break near Helsinki!
We had great stays in Elina`s the cabin. Elina is wery nise host, there are no words to describe her hospitality. The cabin is wery wаrm, clin and cozy. location is wery good: in quiet spot not far from the city life.Sauna was also great. Thanks a lot, Elina, for evrething.)))))
It was wonder-ful and heavenly to stay at Elina's place! The cabin wa so comfortable and beautiful and we could do everything we had hoped to do.. picking berries and mushrooms in the forest, taking a walk in the quiet countryside, taking sauna, making fire and grilling makkara, cooking with local procuces... and just relaxing surrounded by nature... Thank you for teaching us how to pick mushrooms, letting us enjoy your apples from the trees, letting us see your beautiful textile works... and for the delicious salmon dish and cinnamon rolls! We are grateful to you for your kind thoughts and hospitality when you had your full work days... It was fun talking with you :) We also enjoyed the company of Sumu and Toffee, both super friendly cats! Hauska tutustua ja kiitos paljon Elina!
