A luxury modern top floor apartment in the fashionable south london district of Brixton. This apartment suits a couple or group of up to 4 people who want to spend their time in London living like Londoners rather than tourists but still have all the tourist attractions within easy reach.
The apartment has a large bedroom with very comfortable double bed, a modern bathroom with a mirror across an entire wall, a spacious kitchen/lounge with a large sofa bed and a balcony offering views of Canary Wharf. All guests are provided with luxury Egyptian cotton bedlinnen and towels.
There are loads of transport options in the area. The main ones are: Loughborough Junction Station (3 mins walk) with very regular trains to Brighton, Gatwick, London Blackfriars (South Bank) Kings Cross/St Pancras and Luton Airport.
Brixton underground station is on the Victoria line and is just 5 mins bus ride away. There are three frequent 24hr buses directly outside the block serving the west end and Shoreditch (phone number hidden)) and about 25 bus routes in nearby Camberwell Green (4 mins walk).
This is a bustling down to earth inner city area on the edge of both Camberwell Green and Brixton. Camberwell has a lot to offer in terms of pubs and cheap restaurants and has an arty student vibe. Brixton has emerged as a south London hot spot with some of the best cafes and street restaurants in the UK. A trip to the indoor Brixton village food hall and the outdoor Brixton market are an absolute must. There are a number of very nice parks in the area to spend an afternoon in including Brockwell park with the famous outdoor lido swimming pool.
The nightlife options are endless. Brixton has so many pubs, cafes, restaurants and clubs i can't mention them all here, check out the guide I have created of the local area for some of my favorites. Camberwell also some very pleasant pubs many of these serving high quality food. The district of Clapham is also a centre for nightlife in south london and this is a 15 min bus ride from directly outside the apartment.
The apartment has a really warm friendly feel to it and is furnished to a high spec, guests have wifi access, digital tv and underfloor heating. The kitchen is fully equipped so guests are able to cook a meal.
I have lived in the area for 3 years and can give you as much advice as you want on where to go and how to get there.
Look forward to meeting you!
Guests have access to all facilities including wifi, washing machine, iron and use of a well stocked kitchen meaning that guests can actually prepare a full 3 course meal if they want to!
Interaction with Guests
Interaction is via SMS and email. On arrival you will be welcome into the apartment and given as much information as you need about transport, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars. I am on hand to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible so please feel free to contact me whenever you like. If I cannot answer your questions or deal with your queries then I will definitely know someone who will!
This is a bustling inner city neighbourhood which straddles both Camberwell and Brixton. Brixton is a famous part of London and is one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in the World. There is so much to see in the market and the area is remains heavily influenced by the Afro Carribean community, in NYC terms this is Brooklyn.
Camberwell has more of a student feel to it and there are 5 or 6 pubs which are well worth a visit in the area including The Tiger, The Bear, The Sun and The Canberra
Public transport options are endless. There are many buses running into Central London from outside the apartment and Camberwell Green.
Loughborough Junction is on the Thameslink train line and offers quick connections to Blackfriars (for the South Bank) and Kings Cross St Pancras.
Denmark Hill has the London Overground is provides a good way of getting to Clapham High Street for a good selection of restaurants and bars and Shoreditch in East London which is the place to be right now.
Last of all is the Victoria line located in Brixton which is 5 minutes by bus or 12 minutes walk away.
Other Things to Note
The neighbour hood is very safe, during the 1980's Brixton developed a bad reputation for being the epicentre of racial tension and violence however this is long gone. In the past 10 years the area has changed beyond recognition with the middle classes moving in and a more arty and student crowd.
Guests are only allowed to smoke on the balcony not in the apartment. Upon leaving please drop the keys in the apartment 57 mailbox located just outside the front door to the building.
Guests are asked to not to plug in foreign electrical items e.g. hair dryers as this causes the electrics to trip, please only use laptop chargers and mobile phone chargers with a new converter.
The Bin Room is located on the ground floor please ensure you take the key fob with you to unlock the Bin Room Door.
Upon check out please leave the apartment in a tidy condition and place all used towels and bed sheets in the bathroom
Location was perfect for us, bus stop just outside the apartment. Clean and fully furnished with wifi, also Chris gave us so many instructions on how to get to the apartment and tips on places to eat and see. There is a 24hr shop right next to you as well which was really useful.
Bed was comfy, sofa bed was nothing special but sufficed.
Chris was really understanding with extending our stay and check in and out times.
Would highly recommended and would stay at again.
Chris was an extremely gracious host. His apartment was just like the pictures and very close to transportation into the city. He told us what buses and trains to take, and gave excellent suggestions on where to visit and eat. Would most definitely recommend his apartment to others.
Our Travel in London was perfect
The Flat in really nice , close to bus station and underground station
Chris gave us all the information to visit the city and it was very usefull
We will come back with pleasur in GB
Thanks a lot
Chris is a very easy going host, he accommodated my late check in with no problem at all, the flat was cosy yet spacious, the kitchen well equipped and a very comfortable bed.
I would certainly stay there again
This apartment is snug and sunny and located near Brixton. We loved the terrace and easy access to our son's college in Camberwell. I'd definitely stay there again. Clean, comfortable and a great value. Chris was friendly and accomodating.
Chris and his friend James were very quick in responding and also very communicative. James met us at the apartment and explained everything we needed to know. He provided us with transport tips, maps and also with a lot of information on London. He also answered any questions that we had regarding the location, safety etc. I had a great experience dealing with him!
The apartment is fully equipped (from everything you need in the kitchen to a hairdryer, iron, washing machine etc). It is also clean and represents the photos. I was very impressed by it! The 3 of us slept extremely comfortably. There's also a nice balcony where you can have a cuppa and just relax with the view.
The area is peaceful, safe and also easily accessible by public transport.
We had a great stay, I fully recommend this apartment!
I stayed at Chris's place for 67 nights during a week of summer school at Kings College Department of Psychiatry (KCDP).
My stay in Chris' apartment was great.
I always appreciate it a lot when an apartment I'm staying at is clean and neat upon arrival, and Chris's apartment was spotless. Also, it was well equipped, spacious, cozy, and had a great bathroom. Check-in went smooth.
I recommend this apartment, and would stay here again. I especially recommend this place to anyone who need a place close to Kings College Hospital or summer schools at KCDP, it's just a 5 minute walk from the apartment!
I use Airbnb both as a guest and a host as I travel very regularly globally. I've lived in South London for 5 years and love the area to bits. I'm looking for people who want to come to London to explore outside of the tourist strips to see how real Londoners live and spend their time when they're not working.
I would say I'm a very easy going guy who is friendly and honest. My aim is to provide as much information as possible to guests so they can really get the most out of their time in London.
